Download Manager

hi! this is my first time saying anything though ive been around for awhile. i REALLY love your site - i think all of you creators are geniuses? is that a word? youre great. so heres the thing i was trying to download from the modeling agency and it directed me to ad fly and i had to do it or i couldnt get the model. so i did then i was able to get chaya but then it wanted me to download ad fly again and it would not let me get model w/o it, so i tried but my computer said malicious activity and blocked it. if i already have what is needed why cant i download?

We never get tired of folks telling us they like our stuff!  

I am sorry you are having issues with those pesky adf.ly ads.
That was not my doing, but our forum host's.
You can read more about it HERE.
The download manager that pops up on adf.ly has nothing to do with our site.
For our Sim models, we recommend the Sims2Pack Clean Installer, which we suggest in every model's download post.

Unfortunately, some of our older downloads do not have the "If you'd prefer to bypass the ad, simply open a new browser & copy/paste:" option in the post.
This means, if you click on the download button, you're going to get the adf.ly pop up.
Our newer downloads are either hosted at box.com (which there doesn't seem to be an ad problem with) or the option to copy and paste the download file URL into a new browser (which eliminates the adf.ly ad).
In Chaya of Trinidad's case, there was an option to copy & paste the download file URL into a new browser.   )

If there is a particular creation you are wanting and you're having problems, feel free to PM me and I will try to get back with you asap.

wow sugah! you are totally awesome - i just looked to see if anyone happened to look at my question not expecting a reply and lo and behold! its you! thank you thank you - well unfortunately i dont really know what im doing i learned about downloading about the time i registered w your site its been like look ma no hands - dont quite get your response though i know its good and i dont know how to pm im going to go back in and see and ill be ready later - hey and whomever did the christoph harbour series - wow! i only discovered(decided to click it) it last month i couldnt stop reading told all my daughters it was great thats how i recognized chaya anyway thanks so much for the attention - i feel so special and connected you made my day!!

Let me try again...

When you click on an older creation's download button, the adf.ly ad pops up, correct?
In the upper right hand corner, the adf.ly page tells you to wait five seconds and then you can download.
In that same upper right hand corner, after the five seconds pass, it says "SKIP AD".
If you click on SKIP AD, it should re-direct you to the download.
Simply click on the download button right next to the name of our download.
Do NOT click on the (pop-up) Download Manager on adf.ly. You do not want that.  
You want to wait until, in the upper right hand corner of the adf.ly page, it says SKIP AD and click on that.
THEN, you will be taken to the correct download button/link.

Does this make more sense? If not, I can try to do a tutorial with pictures for you, to help you get the visual on it!

PS The brilliant Christophe Harbour series is by the very same creator of lovely Chaya: ilikefishfood (aka Toni).
I am sure she will be just thrilled that you like her fabulous Sims story and have even recommended it to your daughters.

OHHHHHHH!!!!! that was just what i needed! your first explanation was good and i did get it but i didnt know what to do with it. this one... great! thanks for holding my hand im going to try it. i will ck first to see if there is a pm description and if not i will start a thread. this is the best site there is!! i didnt speak before because i was scared - not anymore.

also do you accept donations? i would like to do that because you have great stuff im getting alot - i could never add to the pot in a creative way its still a bit out of my reach and tech is not my gift - i cook - but i can give a little sometimes and more some other times.

Let me know if you are able to download our creations with no more problems.
And if you accidentally clicked on adf.ly's Download Manager (ODM), previously, I would delete that from your computer if I were you.
I hope you didn't download and install that thing, but I fear you might have when it popped up.
I do not know how safe the Open Download Manager @ adf.ly is.

There's no reason to start a new thread.
If you understand how to download from Sugah's Place now, you should be good to go, right?
I suggested you PM me or continue inquiring in this thread if you are still having issues downloading.
