Hi everybody! Well, I know Im a little late - buuut...

I gathered up my nerve and decided to try some fancy moves with my sims (I fault Toni - as it all started at the Harbour ) she's so inspiring - anyway I decided to try simPe...

all I want to do is maybe make some people related that arent already - like Sarah Love and Christian Love - also im making a megahood so i added some subhoods riverside, bitville and four corners some of those people look like they should be related to some of the people we are used to seeing. The final thing I wanted to do was to create the Grandma/grandkid family that you cant do in create a sim. I found directions that i understand on how to do the links but

How do I install the stinkin program? Do I have to put all those things in my game? The directions said save the file where you can find - idid - unzip/open - i did - run the app - but it was a folder so i opened the folder - I dont know how to do it - did you guys already discuss it here somewhere? I read the directions, and I opened the folder but there was a myriad of other folders and files and I was just like... poof!(my forehead came off) simpe073.44.qa
Please help sorry this is so long

lol!  I take full responsibility for leading you into the wild and wacky world of Simpe.

Believe me, I know how to do the things I know, and all the other stuff, I haven't got a clue what it's for! laughin But I do know how to launch the programme.

Go into the Simpe folder, and look for the file called SimPe.  It's an application.  Here's what it looks like in my folder:

You can create a shortcut to it on your desktop.  Right click on the SimPe icon and click copy...go to your desktop and click 'Paste Shortcut.'  You do need all the other stuff in the folder to make it run.

Now...I shouldn't discourage you from learning SimPe, however, a much easier and quicker way to make those familial links is with Two Jeffs' Sim Blender.

Get the active sim to click on the 'family' menu and it has the options for most relationships with all other sims on the lot (household members or not).  Any adult or elder sim can be made the grandparent of any sim up to teen...and (I don't have my game open now) but any elder should be able to be made the grandparent of an adult, but certainly a YA.

The relationships will show up in their family tree and in SimPe.  The Blender also has a slew of other very useful features like setting relationship scores, settling and removing relationship flags, adjusting motives for the active sim or everyone on the lot, changing appearance and plastic surgery of anyone on the lot...it also had the features of IngeJones' teleporter, which allows you to teleport any sim into a lot, among many others.

It looks like the Maxis no fuss ficus plant and it's in Misc...Misc in the catalog.

I'm standing by for further quesioning

I couldn't agree more. While I do use the blender occasionally to set up family relationships or to do a name change, I use it constantly to set up the LTW I want for a sim.

Sim Blender is definitely a must have for me. Changing LTW, hobbies, motives, etc etc lol And lets don't forget the Personality randomizer-I use it for when I forget to do the pacifier with babies-I dislike the 1 nice point so much, haha

Yipeeeee! It worked! Thanks so much and boy is there a lot more that comes with it O yeah! Well this will definitely keep me busy for awhile. I only did a dabble to see if i did it right but it didnt do anything in my family tree - i will try to exit and re enter the lot to see if that does the trick. the little family icon/stamp thingy Did show up on the sim's picture but nothing in family tree

I dont know about the pacifier thing. but i skimmed through the pages does anyone know off hand if it conflicts with some other hacks or mods? I didnt notice anything it just gave details on what it does

thanks again

SimPE is good for altering things for your sims, as far as I know none of the mods change things like "Mystery Sim", so you can use SimPE to alter those memories. Good luck!

Sorry to bump this thread, but speaking of altering memories using SimPe, Aaroneous has also made a mod that allows you to add and delete memories in-game! It's called the Memory Manipulator.
