| Okay, here's the deal. I didn't exactly like the skin tone of one of my sims...so I decided I would make a 'new' skin tone just for them. Quite by accident as I was trying to figure out something about Sims and I found out the wheres and whys to change a sim's skin. So I made the skin tone (thought it looked just perfect), packaged it and imported it to bodyshop (since I couldn't figure out how to just replace the skins in the skin package the sim already used.) Had to tweak a few colors but by the time I was done, all versions of the skin looked great! So I use SimPE and altered all these skin tone locations so it had the right skin package number, then opened SimDNA and changed it there as well, (committed each time and saved finally.) Exit, load game, load hood, load house...skin doesn't look anything like it should... So I leave game and do a search, find a page that has instructions on how to change the skin, so I read and low and behold I had changed everything correctly (shocked!) But says you need to click a mirror and change appearance for it to take effect...well if that is the case why did it come up looking so weird to start with? But I loaded the game and the house and clicked a mirror, change appearance and nothing happened. So I went to CAS and created a new Sim, with the skin I wanted on the other Sim...looks great! Exactly how it should look. So I save the Sim to a new residence, exit game, load SimPE and check that Sim out and it has a different skin value then the one I had placed into the other Sim...So I copied that value out and replaced all those points in my Sim again, exit, load, now the Sim has super shadowed skin...not dark like African, but like the sim is standing in a deep shadow kind of thing... | |

| Would Christianluv's Custom Skin Changer work for you. It's what I use routinely. It appears as a picture. You do have to point it to a directory containing a set of skins that you want. | |

| Thank you Mac, I am trying to go deeper then just a simple window drape...Not sure what they answer is...Though I think since I have the girl wearing that skin in game now, I might try and do the surgery thing on her with simpe...I dunno...Sometimes I get up 3 or 4 steps and something knocks me down 12-15...LOL

| No, it only affects the Sim...I tried doing the surgery, and went to the mirror with her and while in the mirror she looked right, out of the mirror she still looks like this... | |

| Have you tried using Sim Surgery through SimPE yet? I think there's an option where you can copy a skintone from one sim in your hood to another.
I need to look at ChristianLuv's Custom Skin Changer again. I think I have it in my game, but I haven't tried to figure out how to make it work with my custom skins.

Yes, the pic is from right after doing sim surgery and using the mirror to change appearance...no joy I'm about to delete the house and reinstall it. Of course then, I still have the issue of changing the skintones... Mac I might take a look at it Toni...at this point nothing done is nothing gained...

| Tim, have you found a solution to your Simskin issue yet? If not, I will leave this thread open. Will you let me know either way? Thanks! | |
