It's great to see so many people still playing Sims 2. I started with the original, but switched to Sims 2 when it first came out. Occasionally I get a little curious about Sims 3, but generally I have no interest in it, and there's still so much I want to do in Sims 2.

Sorry, but I do tend to be more of a lurker than a poster.  Hello! 738528

Hello! 692765 Cher64!  Hello! 34872

I'm still crazy about the Sims 2, too!  I've been playing since it's release in 2004, and do something sim-related nearly every single day, even if it's just trawling the community for even more custom content to cram into my heaving Download folder!   Hello! 99672

Great to have you on board!  Hello! 3584432080

Thanks for the welcome!

I do something sim-related every day, too. I have a bookmark folder full of pages I visit every day to see what's new in the world of downloads. I have a serious problem, and it takes my game forever to load.  Hello! 598258

This site is full of people who have to find something to occupy their time while the game (mainly all the downloaded stuff) loads!  Hello! 97206 I tend to set it loading in the AM while I'm having a meal or something - then use the Windows-M key to minimize it to check email, surf, or look for yet more downloads. Hello! 968206

As for Sims 3, I really looked forward to it, bought it, installed it, played it for a while, the uninstalled it and never looked back. I'll take my time about getting Sims 4.

Wow! I'm still trying to see everything here at Sugah's Place. What a great forum!

So far, I've skimmed some of the downloads (don't want to tempt myself to go too crazy too fast  laughin ) and the stories about your various Sims games. Those are really fun to read. I ran across that delicious-looking veggie plate in Mac's thread and went to the link to download it. Of course, I ended up downloading a dozen different meals. Oddly, I used to have most of them in my game and, at some point, must have deleted them.  Hello! 657259

If this is the wrong place to discuss some of these things, please let me know. I thought I'd mention a little bit about what I've done, but I don't have pictures for my own thread.

Mostly I play, but occasionally I get into building. I like decorating much more than I like building, though. I've had a sim become a good witch, but I haven't even begun to look into playing a werewolf or vampire.

I have played the Asylum Challenge as I found it at MTS2. I lost one inmate to lightning, 3 to a fire, and 3 to ghosts. It took 24 days for my playable Sim to reach her career goal and be released. I had no other living inmates because, sadly, the last one couldn't make it just one more day and died just before she got back from work.  No

I have only discovered hacks and mods in a big way within the last year. Before, I'd always been a bit afraid to use them. I use The Director's Cut at MATY, and quite a few I've found at MTS2. I don't use cheats while I'm playing except to change a LTW once in a while, or to give a Sim I met and married in Uni the benefits of having graduated. I came across a mention of the No Sim Detected thingie here in the forum, I don't remember where exactly. Does anyone know if it conflicts with any other hacks?

I also very recently discovered CAS face template replacements. Hopefully, now I'll be more willing to let my Sims associate with game-made Sims.  laughin

Currently, I'm playing in a custom beach neighborhood, Pirri-Pirri. My goal was to play long enough to have every house occupied. I'm on the 4th generation and maybe about 1/3 of the way to my goal.

Just in case you haven't discovered them yet, in most every download category, there is an index of our creations for ease of browsing, FYI.
I usually let our members know when I've updated the indexes HERE, if you're interested.  Hello! 584675

Thank you for sharing your game antics with us.
If you feel you'll be chillin' with us for awhile, please feel free to start your own game antics thread HERE.
The rules for sharing in that section are posted HERE.

If you like challenges, we have quite a few original ones penned by our very own Autumnelle, as well as some revamped older challenges.
You'll find them all in The Challenge Arena.

Like you, I'm not one for using cheats very often. I have very few hacks/mods in my game (only a few I can't live without  Hello! 12612 ).
I don't think I know of the Director's Cut from MATY.

I do not know, since I am not one to play with hacks, but will PM a couple of our game savvy players to see if one of them know.

 Hello! 534790

As I said, if you decide to make our little forum one of your Sims 2 hang outs, Cher, we'd love it if you'd start your own "What's Going on in Your Game" thread at Sugah's Place.

Hi Cher64,

Sugah sent me this way to answer Your question if possible. Personally I have never heard of No Sim Detected and my search came up with nothing. Do You have have any idea where You got the mod or what it's suppose to do?

Thanks for coming over here to look at my question, Aaroneous. It's possible you've never heard of it because it's actually No Sim Loaded. *insert embarassed smilie here*  laughin I thought I read about someone here having it, but I may have seen it somewhere else when I was on a desperate search for something or other I thought I needed. The link led me here. I don't have a good understanding of how the game works, besides knowing whether or not it's doing what I want, so I don't know if No Sim Loaded is something that would really help with system lag. It sounds like the game uses a certain amount of memory storing useless information? Much like my own brain.  Hello! 598258 I do run a hack/mod conflict checker when adding things. I was just curious if anyone knew about No Sim Loaded and if it was likely to be helpful. I don't actually have a lot of lag most of the time, but it does take quite a bit of time for a lot to load.

I have quite a few mods, mostly from the MTS2 and More Awesome Than You (MATY) websites. The Director's Cut is a selection of mods and hacks that either make things run more smoothly or more realistically, all bundled together in one download. There's a giant laundry list of what's included -- things like preventing a Sim's entire queue of activities being dropped to go look at something you've just purchased, lecturing the baby for having a dirty diaper, a way to tell the Sim to clean house without having to click on everything that needs to be cleaned, that kind of stuff. It also alters the way LTWs and attraction work, so that they're based on overall personality and interests.

Sugah, I did notice some of the things you've mentioned as I was poking around a bit more in the forum. I particularly like the way downloads are indexed. It's much nicer than opening an individual thread to see every single thing.  Hello! 302407

As long as it's OK that I don't have any pictures to share at the moment, I might start a thread about what's going on in my hood.  Hello! 12612

Ahhhh No Sim Loaded, I remember that mod. While I can't say from personal experience, But from what I have heard from others it does help with load times(especially the loading of lots). It shouldn't conflict with anything since it doesn't  replace any game code, But creates it's own code. And yes the game is notorious for storing bad data, It also has memory leak that can slow the game down if played for a long period of time(usually 2 hours or more). A memory leak put simply is that a program or game keeps on using more and more memory until there is no more.

Thank you. I'll probably try it out, since the game is often up for hours at a time. I'm not playing the entire time, but it takes so long to load, I just leave it on all day.

I am so glad you approve. It was my goal to help make browsing for downloads here far easier and to go more quickly.  Hello! 584675

Pictures are preferred, Cher, so whenever you can take some snapshots of what's been happening in your game, please DO start your own game antics thread.  Hello! 940149

I use it and it works great for me. It's reduced crashes and glitchy behaviour in my game. I've actually recommended it around here, especially to folks re-installing as it's a great way to keep corruption at bay.
