Astral Faery's Baby Bonanza

Hey everyone!  I was eager to join in on this challenge, because one of my favorite things about this game is sims having families and watching how the genes mix.  I agonized for 2 days on which sims to pick (Two. Days.) and finally (finally!) narrowed it down to only 12 sims - 6 couples.  There are so many, many more that I could have used, but I wanted to keep it as small as I could.

I love letting my sims choose their mates on their own because I find that exciting.  Aspirations, Astrological signs, and turn-ons/turn-offs were all rolled randomly.

Everyone has been matched up and I have a couple of new babies to share next time I log in.  

Great choices, Ari! I can't wait to see how they pair up and how the kids turn out. I'm like you, I prefer it when they choose on their own. I'm excited to see Franco (I've grown quite attached to him in this project) and Aphrodite (I haven't really played with her much in my own game, so it will be neat to see what she gets up to in yours). I'm seeing a lot of sims I overlooked when I picked out the ones I used. I keep seeing Lilura, so I may need to go and grab her and maybe Xori too. So many great sims! I can see why you agonized over which ones to use, I keep finding more to add to my game.

Thanks so much Em and Cher!  I'm so happy you're interested in my project and I've forgotten how fun it was to share and be a part of a sim project.

The couples matched themselves up.  I play them rotation-style, one season per family.  The first family is Rafe and Brynne Ironheart.  Brynne is even more beautiful in game, and Rafe is just a doll.  They make such a cute couple and are so fun to play.  Brynne is Knowledge (Pisces) and Rafe rolled Family (Sagittarius).

And not long after, Brynne is pregnant with their first child.


Meet Baby Evelina - with blonde hair and daddy's bright blue eyes.  Rafe had custom hair, so I assigned him blonde.  All their babes will be fair-haired dollies.


My next couple is Thulian and Xori Amber.  When I first started this challenge, I thought it would be really cute if these two ended up together just because they are both so adventurous with their hair choices.   And they actually did it on their own!  They're both Family sims, so they'll have a nice big family.  Thulian is a Capricorn and Xori a Sagittarius.  Xori is such a beauty.  Thank you, Ulli!


The couple weds.  I had to take a picture of each couple getting married - so their creators and other witnesses can enjoy their special day.


Thulian talks to Xori's belly.  This pic is kind of dark because it was taken at night.  With only candles to light their homes, night is kind of....well, dark.  


A darling little boy with mommy's pretty blue eyes.  His name is Sebastian.


Xori showed up in my CAS with brown hair, and I assigned blonde to Thulian.  I'm kind of torn, though, should I give all the little girls Xori's hair and all the little boys Thulian's?

I haven't decided which of your Sims to use yet, but I know I'm wanting to add a few more couples to the mix, sooo...

Oh, I like how they're pairing up so far. Brynne and Rafe look good together and of course, Xori Amber and Thulian had to pair up with their unique hair colors. Both babies have such gorgeous blue eyes! I think it would be fun to give Thuluan and Xori's children wild hair colors too, to go with the rest of the family. I see you're playing a themed game too. Fun!

Thulian and Xori Amber look fantastic together! I'm glad they chose each other without needing a nudge by the OOOG (I forget how many 'O's I need ).

I'm glad, because it's fun to see those kinds of pictures. I also got a kick out of Rafe listening to Brynne's belly. The look on his face is all "eh, what's that you say?"

Cher - I have to admit I had to take a pic of each new Daddy rubbing or listening to The Belly, because it's just so cute.

Em - I do love my medievally-themed game.  

I've actually almost finished the second rotation, and most of the first-borns are now children.  I'll have to get you guys caught up on the pairings and all the new behbehs.

My next pairing is Franco and Lilura Morningstar.  They are both Fortune sims, he's an Aquarius and she's a Sagittarius

Next up is Jacqui and Jael Oakenbow.  A little note about these two - when I made all these sims, I put all the ladies together on one lot, and each man in a house - then brought them over to the ladies' lot to shop   Jacqui and Jael took one look at each other and it was all over.  They were the first match made, and found a corner of the lot to hang out while I watched all the others interact.  The were inseparable.  They were the first to pair up, the first to get their relationship score up, the first to flirt, and the first to kiss.  They both just knew they found their other half and didn't even bother looking at the rest.   Anyway,  coincidentally, they are both fortune sims and both an Aries.  They have so much in common!

Aw! I love it when that happens. It makes you feel good about it when it seems like it was meant to be.

Lilura looks fabulous in her medieval garb! It looks like Nikolai and Dimitri (great names) may have Lilura's eyes. She has such pretty eyes.

A sweet little girl named Iliana.  I just love the shape of her eyes.  I used to think all infants looked the same, but this challenge has really proved me wrong.

By now I'm in the 4th season (4th rotation of the families) and all the couples have had second, third, and fourth pregnancies.  The firstborns are children and all growing up well.  More pics to come of them and their siblings.

I'm just so thrilled to see so many of my simmies here Ari! Thank you! I create almost exclusively for sharing and don't play most of them myself, so I love seeing them in other peoples' hoods, and seeing how their lives turn out!

I must say, I'm feeling like a proud grandma!

I love Jacqui and Jael's story!!! How adorable is that?!!!

What cute babies all around, I can't wait to see them when they age up!

This is an excellent point, Ari.
I know what you mean about the cutesy cuddling shots. They do tend to grin like goofy high-on-love teens.
I might suggest we use the head shots of the actual Sim models, if the creators approve.
That is, if our participants have trouble getting (in game) up close and personal, more neutral-faced snapshots.
You can always leave your lovebirds to their cuddling and rather than go back & edit the images later...
Perhaps we could suggest sharing side-by-side head shots of the parents with their child/children when teens?
It would make it easier for everyone to compare the facial features of the offspring with their parents'.

Like I've mentioned, we're still working the kinks out of sharing this project.
What are your thoughts? I'm open for suggestions!

Despite my early idea to limit how many couples I used for this project, I kinda went nuts and added a whole bunch more - like 8 more couples.  But then I realized - this is for fun, why must I have limits?  Guilt solved.

Em's Sapphira! I've always loved her, too! I wanted to add her to the project, but have so dang many dark haired Sims already.
(So, I went ahead and added Em's Octavia, who, of course, has dark hair. )

I love all of the couples and all of the babies. So cute! Iliana does have differently shaped eyes for a baby. I too though all babies were all pretty much the same in terms of facial features. I guess not.

I agree too. I tried to get a mix of sims, but I ended up with more of Toni's than anybody else's. Ari's sims caught my attention second most often, I think. There are so many wonderful sims to choose from here.

I took family photos of my sims when the kids were teens and I thought about sharing them in my thread, but maybe I'll do that when they're adults. I'd like to have headshots of them all together in a post at some point anyway and maybe personality stats, if that's part of looking at what our sims' offspring inherit. I like how Ari and some others put headshots of the sims in their first post. That's a handy way to go back for comparison without having to click on the links.
