The additional files on the DVD added the information that while Julie Christie was a real trouper, Oscar Werner was a problem during the whole shooting

I've read the novel and seen the movie many many times. Some changes when Montag is fleeing the establishment, but otherwise right on!  Brilliant movie! I thought it was even better than the book. Ray Bradbury even has a cameo appearance.

(The) Horse's Mouth - Alec Guinness - Disappointed those whose exposure to Guinness was in the early Ealing comedies, but this one is special. Shows AG's versatility. Another of my faves

Whisky Galore - with Joan Greenwood (again) and a very young Gordon Jackson (later Hudson in Upstairs Downstairs)

The film was distributed in the United States as "Tight Little Island" since the Production Code (aka the Hayes Code) did not allow the mention of liquor in a movie title.

The plot takes place on a little island off the west coast of Scotland during World War II, and they've just run out of Whisky (BTW - that means Scotch Whisky and nothing else!). Then a cargo ship runs aground off the island and its cargo... Well, you can guess! If you watch this, ideally you should have a wee dram of Single Malt in your hand! And... What does a Single Malt afficionado call Chivas Regal??? Cooking Whisky!
