Ambitious AND cool! It's an intriguing idea. I'm dying to see pix once you get started. If I ever finish telling my Harbour story, I've got to try a challenge some time. In all these years, I've never done a challenge or even played a legacy family. Some day...some day...in the meantime, I'll get my adventure fix by following your simmies' lives!

| Hi all. I got rid of my other thread I'm sure some of you who participated in it before noticed. There were a number of reasons I did that, but let's not dwell on the past shall we? New thread, new activities! No I haven't tried my hand at another illustrated story - I will one day - mostly because I am in a threshold of challenges - some which I've posted about in Challenge Central and I do intend in partaking in Miss Elle's Black Hearts challenge. I actually did this challenge a couple of years ago and like a lot of my old challenges I didn't complete it for some reason or another. Here's a list of what's got me virtually tied up:
1. Round Robin 2. Board Game Challenge 3. 30 day OTP challenge 4. OWVSDLBC Legacy
Speaking of old challenges I was scrounging thru my external hard drive and accidentally discovered that it has copies of almost all of my old challenges I did back as far as 2 years ago and I've been posting a few of those pics on my tumblr. If you like I can post some here if you're interested :)
I've been getting my new DW in order and reposting stuffs I had before now that my pic hosting situation is settled.

| I've actually done a Black Widow Challenge. I found some of the pics, but not the complete story of how things happened. I can tell you I used the box of axes, the assault rifle...hmm....I don't remember what else I used. I have new devices to kill off victims this time when I do this, but I thought I'd treat you and let you see some of the pics from my old old game - it's like about 3 years old. LOL! I didn't have any full profile shots of my founder - Fantana - but that's about as close as you'll get I killed off a variety of townies and downloaded sims. Here are 3 of the - hmm...I don't remember how many she killed. She might have killed 7 - maybe more. Stamina Kan - one of my own sims who was married and part of another play-for-fun household I was doing at that time as well. Peyton Turner - a townie Christopher Simpson - a downloaded sim from kingmike1224 on livejournal And here are the kids: This is Stamina's spawn These are Peyton's spawn. Twin girls. https://2img.net/r/ihimg/a/img24/8480/bwcpapayaprofile.png This is Christopher's spawn And this was her first husband's children - I think his name was Riley ^^;;; I still have all these sims available for download if anyone's interested :) But I'm excited to participate in this again since my game was incomplete last time. I hope to get started this afternoon. I even have my founder picked out but I was a bit busy last night so I didn't get a chance to take any shots of her just yet. | |

| Yeah, I kinda need to get on this, don't I? I don't have a lot of pics, but I'll try to get them rounded up and share a couple soon. That is a really pretty matchmaker outfit, Sugah. I like the chainmail skirt. I think I already have a default for all my NPCs - I'll have to check. How hilarious that she'll end up naked if you don't get the mesh - I may have to try that for a laugh! I'm also doing a sort of Fallout Zombie Apocalypse Prosperity-type thingy in my other game. Not sure if I'll share piccies or whatnot - I sort of just seem to veg while playing to relax and often don't feel like setting up pictures. It, too, will not be a 'nice' challenge, because I have a mods installed so zombies will attack sims and can turn them into zombies. The whole point is to see how many of my sims can survive and prosper in the post apocalyptic hostile environment. Sick, aren't I? | |

| Hmm - I don't think so. I'm wicked and evil, I know.
If you've ever read the rules to the Apocalypse Challenge, you'll see that's a long, drawn out challenge. It involves lifting a restriction by reaching the top of a particular career - for example - before culinary is lifted, you are not allowed to have a stove and are limited to one meal a day. You are not allowed to use any running water (no showers or baths) until Medical is lifted, etc. To flavor the challenge a little, you're not supposed to have any grass, trees, or plants - but must have your home on a desert or concrete tile set - kinda like what you'd expect after a fallout and the world has been blown to hell. I've started this challenge many times, and am intrigued by the hard part of it. But I got bored once I had too many restrictions lifted, because then it was mostly a 'normal' game - *yawn*
So I'm taking some of those ideas and, like my Kingdomshire, mishmashing from that challenge and the game Fallout 3 that I'm loving and other ideas to suit my fancy. So let's call it...Zombie Apocalypse Warzone.
I'm trying to create a little world where life is a struggle, bills are outrageous because the crime ring is in control, food is rationed, the world is at war with the zombies, and sims can only enter a few careers - culinary (to bring fresh food to the masses), military, science, and medical. Sims are not allowed to choose, but will be chosen randomly by what consists of the government (meaning, I roll a die) - unless a sim shows a particular aptitude for a certain career - like a sim whose preferred hobby is science - the government believes that individual would excel in that field. But on 6 sided die, 2 chances will roll up military - so the greater majority of sims end up in that field. I'm also playing with the idea of having a sim whose job is a breeder - to help repopulate society. And sims may or may not get to choose their mate based on chemistry. The government may take two 'breeder' sims and place them together.
Sims are studious, and must attend school, but not college - because by that time they are needed to join the working force (and I really freaking hate playing Uni). Sims are required to excel at school, and teens must get jobs in the profession chosen for them. Cooking skill is important, because the better a sim's skill, the more nourishing meals they can prepare (because I'm allowing stoves). I'm allowing water, too, so showers and baths are allowed. None have tv's, but everyone has a radio. Children are not allowed to be left alone, so a parent, teen sibling, or grandparent must be present at all times. There are no service sims in the apocalypse.
Decor is fallout style - which is sometimes retro 50's, and rusted, corroded, or industrial. Houses are the same - no pretty here. Clothing is government issued, and I'm trying to find 'uniforms' for my sims to wear which projects their career. It's post apocalypse - no one gets pretty clothes or special treatment.
Right now I have most of the families living in an apartment complex, but I'm not sure yet if it's going to accomplish what I want, because I've hardly ever played apartments before. I'm thinking it may protect my sims a little too much.
My idea is to have some automatic greeting system, like Simslice's Psycho Head Doorman so zombies will actually come onto the lot and be able to terrorize people. Otherwise they just simply pass by on the sidewalk, in a completely unthreatening manner. It's post apocalypse - it's supposed to be scary. Survival will depend on hard work and skills.
Anyway, I wasn't planning on blabbing on and on, and I wasn't really going to share this one, but maybe I will anyway. Just don't get too attached to any of these sims - because they may become a zombie. I've already played through a round, and I didn't take any pictures of that. I'm still trying to fine tune everything to get it to flow the way I want.
And I still plan on playing my Kingdomshire, too, when I'm in a medieval mood.

| My gaming's kinda been put on hold because I was reworking my downloads - I always do this and I never learn my lesson - but I would forget and switch out skins and hairs and mess all my sims up. I don't have to reinstall, no, thankfully, but um, I'm still working on my 30 Day OTP challenge - I started that up again and I'm up to day 20 so far - well - with one of my couples anyway. I attempted to make sims out of a couple from a yaoi manga series I have called Only The Ring Finger Knows - attempt being the key word here. One turned out better than the other because I couldn't really find a hair I thought suited him well *shrugs* Take a look and tell me what you think of them ok? :) Be honest. I'm a big girl. I really hate making sims because I honestly don't think I'm much good at it really >>;;;; Don't worry Sugah I haven't forgotten about that genetic demonstration on the Tutorials thread. Now that I updated my files I should hopefully have something for you in a couple of days. I did manage to finish my first generation of my Board Game Challenge along with my fourth generation of my Sunshine legacy challenge and selected the heirs from 5 (board game) and 15 (sunshine) siblings and here they are: And I'll leave you with this captioned pic... More soon! \o | |

| Ok so very frustrated right now. Awhile back I downloaded a buyable mailbox and trashcan, convinced this would be a good thing to have just in case I accidentally ever deleted one. And it probably is. However, I recently learned that this is the reason why my Bigger Bills doesn't work. So the logical thing to do would be to do a simple search and delete the mailbox. But, even if deleted, it likes to hide in your game. I've tried multiple searches for this stinking thing and I can't find it. No matter what I search for, the name, the object, the package number, nothing comes up on the search. Also something I can't find to take out, is the stupid Grilled Dino Slices. Same as above with the searching. If the custom dino plates actually worked in my game, I'd be happy to leave them in, but they don't. I've tried putting them in my game at least 5 times, and they still flash blue. So now I'm disgusted with it and want to just take it out completely. And I would, if it would come up in a search. I'm suspecting they're among all those files that only have numbers for names. Do files rename themselves and only have a long string of numbers, instead? I also downloaded a lot that I think borked my new apocalypse neighborhood. My sims kept resetting themselves when the school bus or carpool came and I was trying to figure out why. Then, one of them just simply disappeared. She just vanished off the family roster and was nowhere to be seen. Instead of having a 5 member family, they only had 4. That would make a neat story element if it weren't for the fact that I read that's one of the big signs of neighborhood corruption. SIGH So I'm going to have to do with this game what I did with my medieval game - and that's yank absolutely everything out of it and add it back in bit, by bit, testing between batches to see where a problem is. It's tedious and annoying, especially since I just want to play. So once I get the game running like it's supposed to again, THEN I can start this big project that I've been itching to play. And I guess I'll be building my own lots instead of downloading, because I don't want to get another screwed up lot again. From now on when I download lots, I won't just download whatever I like - I'll only download from a trusted source. | |

| I have been having a lot of fun with my Zombie Apocalypse Fallout game lately, but I keep forgetting to stop and take good pictures. I am already on the third playthrough of all the houses and I haven't even introduced anyone yet. I took out all the downloads that had just a string of numbers for a name and managed to get the buyable mailbox out of the game - so now bills are grossly high - yay! And I'm thinking the sims resetting themselves has something to do with using custom stairs. They get on the bus fine if they're already downstairs, but when they have to go down the stairs to get there, they often (not always) reset. I've replaced all the stairs with Maxis ones and they seem to be doing just fine. Perhaps I'll dig into the problem later - bur for now I sure am having fun in the little world I've created. I'm also kind of making up the rules as I go, but am liking the government being a controlling force in the lives of my sims. I've been too lazy to start the actual zombie part of the game yet, but I should think about doing that pretty soon. On to the families. This is the Steele Family - Blade and Saber are the parents, Dagger the teen boy, and Katana the girl. As I mentioned before, I have the Edukashun Iz Gud mod which means job level depends on education. Only sims that have graduated college can get up to level 10 of a job. Only Knowledge and Fortune sims will get to go to college, because they have proven themselves to be dedicated to the rebuilding of society and are interested in scaling the job ladder. I gave Saber and Blade artificial degrees, as I did with all the starting adults, so they could try to become the head of their prospective careers. Saber is in Military, Blade is in Intelligence. Whenever possible, I'm going to match a sim's career with his/her predestined hobby. Both Dagger and Katana are very active and have a hobby of fitness - perfect for military. Sadly, on Saber's second day of work in the military career, she caught a cold. I tried to let her rest and keep her isolated, but the cold must have been fatal. Dagger resolves to follow in his mother's footsteps and try to be the Military leader of the neighborhood. Since he is a knowledge sim, he'll get to go to the Academy (college) for elite training. The next day, Blade got a demotion. This family is off to a rough start. Next is the Foxx family. Elders Maverick and Amber, and toddlers Flora, Fauna, and Shadow. The adult is the placeholder and no longer exists. To simulate the dangers of radiation over time, I'm pretending that when a sim reaches elder, their mind has eroded somewhat and they've gone insane - have a mod in my game to make elders unselectable - so I have no control over what the elders do. This made taking care of 3 toddlers very interesting. You'd think the elders would pick something up once in awhile. But the babies spent their toddlerhood hungry, tired, filthy, and cranky. Even well meaning neighbors couldn't offer much help to the cranky toddlers. Needless to say, they all grew up poorly. And this one was just for fun. Maverick is relaxing in a chair when Lance, one of my other playables, decides to dance right in front of him. It looks....quite wrong, lolol. This is the Hawke family, Star, Tome, and Tiger. Star started off in Military, but on her first or second day of work she came down with the flu. I tried to keep her isolated and very well rested. The only things I let her do were eat, sleep, and potty. No skilling. She hung on for days and I had hopes that she would actually be the first sim I've ever cured of the realistic sickness mod without using medicine. But she eventually died. I'll spare you the pictures, but both her sons got it, too, and they also died. So this entire family was wiped out by the flu. Their house now sits empty, with three gravestones in the back yard. I am hoping there isn't some mysterious illness that is going to plague all my military sims. Because of this, I'm going to create another lot where infected sims will be sent to hopefully recover, but at least not infect the rest of their family. The Blaze Family - Tempest and Lance, and girls Lore and Lyric. Overall the family is doing well. Lance is a romance sim, so it's hard for him to buckle down and concentrate on his job when he's so busy thinking about the ladies. I gave him a diploma and put him in Culinary, but I really doubt he'll get to the top level, especially since he was demoted 2 or 3 times now (I take chance cards). Out of all my sims, he actually has a chance to fulfill his lifetime dream of being a Celebrity Chef, but he has to put himself into his career a little more. Tempest is doing very well in the Medical career. She has gotten a couple of promotions and seems to make good decisions at work. She is a Fortune sim, so this is working out well. The girls show off their report cards. And finally, the Wolfe Family - Angel (elder) and Fate (teen) (and the placeholder who no longer exists). Fate is a family sim, so she will be a Breeder. When she grows up, she'll get married and have as many babies as possible. She is such a busy girl right now, because of school and work - she hardly brings in any money at all, but bills are high, and granny can't get a job, so someone has to try to earn something. She is afraid granny will set the house on fire while she's away so much, so she turns the refrigerator backward before she leaves the house. At first she was turning the stove, but then granny was getting small meals out of the fridge and blowing their one meal per day ration on unfilling fare. Fate has learned to cook pretty well, and makes sure granny gets a nice full tummy when she gets home from work in the evening. Only one meal per day is allowed, but I'm allowing them to save leftovers, so in the morning, Fate makes sure granny gets something, too. most of her life is taken up with school, work, homework, taking care of granny, and skilling with any extra time. But she did manage to have time to have her very first kiss with Dagger Steele. But now Dagger has gone away to college and met another girl, so when Fate grows up, she'll need to marry someone else. | |

I like your decoration style especially the Foxx family's, poor toddlers! I have to try this one but not now I have to finish my "black widow " and maybe another challenge before I start with a new one. More pics please!

Fascinating! I love it already!!! Has such a sci-fi ring to it. And you know how much I love me a good sci-fi adventure, Ms Faery. I am glad you were able to find and remove the very elusive buyable trash can and mailbox for as tedious a project as it was. Do you use Delphy's Download Organizer? Could that help you find the flashing custom Simstone plates/dino grill? I'm lovin' your families already. You always come up with the BEST names for your themed Sim fams. - Quote :

| Ok...remember how I said I was in only 4 challenges? Make that 6.I believe I mentioned before that I'm doing an Uberhood challenge, but it's not going to be done the way i've seen it done. I'm simply making over the houses and sims and let them play out their lives as they are, but I'm pretty much getting rid of all the current elders and making way for the 2nd and or 3rd generation to come up. Here's a example of what I've done so far - right now I'm in Riverblossom Hills and I'm almost done with all the houses there - I'll be going into game to finish the last couple tonight and then I'll work on the sim makeovers. This is the Greenman Household: BEFORE PICTURES: AFTER PICTURES: ^-^ I did all of them in the space of the weekend. Not bad huh? I had about 7 houses I think? Let's see... 1. Greenman 2. Martin 3. Newsome 4. Wan 5. OMackey 6. Ottomas (theirs'll be the last one) 7. Roth If you wish to see more of them, the others are on my Tumblr under this link: Uberhood 2.0 Project I also have taken on a SECOND round robin - no, the first one hasn't started yet. | |

Meanwhile, a friend of mine has been asking me for a unicorn picture (for quite awhile, actually) and I finally felt like working on it today. I wanted to share what I've gotten so far. It's not done yet - I still want to add more effects, but I don't think it's looking too bad so far - what do you guys think? The original is my screen size, 1920x1080 so when I'm done with it, I'll upload it here for use as a desktop image.
