| Yes, Mac! The telescope was the big, expensive one. The Benedettos bought it because Mia (the oldest teen) is a Science enthusiast. They wanted her to have the best.I had no idea it would bring a much higher chance of alien encounters! My memory is faulty. When Sims get abducted and impregnated by aliens... The offspring do not look more alien-like? I can't recall! - Quote :
- Even if Mia and Anna don't qualify for the offspring thread, they're quite lovely!
... And even moreso, they are darling girls inside and out! Mac, thank you for stopping by and for all of your comments. ~*~ I'm going to change channels here, as I've been missing my crazy cat lady Maddie McMew (May 15, 2014). You may recall (or maybe not ) senior Maddie, though blessed with 5 furry feline fam members, has been single all of her life. I've been wanting her to find human companionship now that she is towards the end of her days. Enter widower Taavi Mikkola (formerly of Finland & daddy of Suvi). It didn't take long, once they met, for things to progress between Maddie (Knowledge Sim, Hobby: Cuisine) and Taavi (Family Sim, Hobby: Cuisine, Science Career). I think they have 2 chemistry bolts, but don't quote me. Maddie and Suvi sense they may soon become family (by marriage), so they spend time bonding over chess. Do the Mikkolas have a green thumb or what? You may recall (or maybe not ) Suvi (Family Sim, Hobby: Games, Law Enforcement) is head over heels over Jacob Roarke (Family Sim, Hobby: Games, Architecture). Jacob stopped by the Mikkola abode recently and Suvi felt compelled to greet the handsome lad with all the passion she feels for him. The handsome young couple are engaged, btw. Love is most definitely in the air for the Mikkola Family (Taavi & Suvi).

Yea! I've been wondering what has been happening with her. I'm so happy she's found companionship, and a lovely step-daughter-to-be besides. Suvi's not shy, is she? I'm sure Jacob appreciates that. Look at all the nice, new people joining Maddie's life.

| Sugah, your Sims always have the cutest and most stylish clothes on! Happy to see Maddie has found love with Taavi! Yay!! Sorry to hear about Minxy! Sometimes if I have been playing awhile and don't save, something always happens soo that you are forced to go with the flow. Maybe Minxys' Mom will have more babies you can adopt! | |

That's pretty much what happened, Sandy. I was really into playing the Benedettos & so much was going on that I'd forgotten to save for awhile. I had to weigh whether I was willing to forfeit ALL I'd accomplished with the family or lose sweet old Minxy. I'm happy Maddie has found someone, well, a human someone to love, too, ladies. - Sandy wrote:

Thank you, Lady S. I don't have much clothing downloaded in my new game. It's on my "to do" list for sure! Speaking of ... Cher, weren't you the one who had some cool beachwear for Sim males I was admiring? I can't recall where you found it, if so, and am needing some in my game. - Cher wrote:

Thank you, ladies, for stopping by and for your comments. ~*~ Well, I've got it in my mind that since I am wanting the offspring of our SP project to get to know one another & become childhood friends... That I need to have multiple families with little ones in the same age group before playing the kiddos to adulthood. Eventually, it will be really neat to see which offspring matches up for the next generation. So, without further adieu, I'd like you to welcome... The King Family: Em's Will (Pleasure Sim, Culinary Field, Sagittarius) & my Anaïs (Pleasure Sim, Culinary Field, Sagittarius) . Will is an Aussie who met Anaïs while scubing diving on her native island of Antigua @ Cades Reef. They fell in love instantly (3 chem bolts). Hmmm... An Aussie and an Island Girl fall in love and get married... Sound familiar ? (Re: Our Toni of St Kitts & her Aussie hubby Jules ) They live on Lago de Azul in Tres Lagos in a very small, modest beach cottage they affectionately refer to as their "L'il Love Shack". It's so tiny, they must dine al fresco (luckily it's always early summer & a temperate 75 degrees in Sugah's 'hoods ). What's more romantic than dining under the stars with someone you love to the sound of waves breaking on the shore? "I'd love to start a family, too, but we really should wait until we have enough money to add another room onto our home." The young couple looks forward to having children, but has just found work in Tres Lagos & has very little funds in their bank account.

- They currently have 2 chemistry bolts and KimberLee is perma platinum (because she's a Professional Party Guest and that was her heart's desire to achieve).
I don't know if that helps the situation. I'm not as concerned about her wants since she's perma plat. That's one way to deal with a pleasure sim! I think they seem to get along with other sims pretty well, but they tend to go overboard on silly, boring wants. - Quote :
- I find building and decorating an incredibly tedious business and rarely get into it as much as I probably should.
Which is why most of my Sims' abodes are very small and quite humble & modest in appearance. Rolling Eyes
Mine generally are too when I'm just playing and not setting up scenes. I tend to just make my lots functional. In the apartment complex I moved my SP sims into for the offspring challenge. I went all out decorating the first apartment, then did less and less in each subsequent apartment. By the last one I just added a bed and a couch and called it a day. Aw, poor Minxy. - Quote :
- I must say, I am surprised that the little fellow is not green and with those creepy dark alien eyes.
Only his nose & mouth area are a bit peculiar. Is this normal? I forgot that alien babies actually have pinched faces and don't look like all other sim babies. I believe they generally have green skin and black eyes, except when the impregnated sim has custom skin and eyes. I'm not sure if it's 100% of the time, but cc tends to be dominant over defaults. Celestino probably carries the green skin and alien eyes as recessive genes. When he grows up and has children of his own, it might be interesting to see what happens! - Mac wrote:
- I always have my guys use the cheaper, smaller one.
I always have my sims buy the expensive one because I want the chance of alien abduction. I believe the expensive one is the only one that gives you a chance of alien abduction (unless you have the knowledge sim aspiration bonuses, whatever they're called, that let you summon aliens. I'm not sure which telescopes that works on.) - Quote :
- I had to weigh whether I was willing to forfeit ALL I'd accomplished with the family or lose sweet old Minxy. verklempt
Isn't it hard when you're in that situation and have to make a decision like that in the sims? That's happened to me more than a few times too. It's a hard choice sometimes. Yay! I'm happy to see Will and lovely Anais. (I believe I downloaded her for my game recently, but haven't moved her in yet. )

| When last I left you, Will & Anaïs King were wanting to start a family, but were dirt poor after building & furnishing their L'il Love Shack. They worked hard for quite awhile, then tried for a baby. Alas! It wasn't meant to be the first time they attempted (unlike all the others, thus far, who nailed it on the first try ). It took three times before Anaïs became pregnant, but I think it was meant to be that it took awhile. This gave them plenty of time to continue saving so they could fatten their bank account and build & furnish a bedroom. Previously, they'd been napping on the couch or on the loungers under the stars. Will is pretty proud of their new bed and couldn't wait to show it off (along with his snacky buffness ). And they couldn't be happier that a new member of the King family is finally on the way! Anaïs is moving up the Culinary career ladder much faster than Will for some reason. They've both got the skills & high enough aspiration levels, but she's the one who is always getting the raises. Currently, Anaïs is an Executive Chef making $1208 daily & Will is still a Waiter (making peanuts ). Since they have $15,000 Simoleons in their bank account, I'm not complaining. Both aspire to be Celebrity Chefs, btw. When next I share, it will probably be in my SP Offspring thread, upon the King baby's arrival.

Thank you, Lady C! I'm not much of a builder OR a decorator. I don't have much patience for either. And I beg to differ with you about not being much of a builder (eg Kingfisher & Beach View ). The Kings have added a room and done some landscaping since their bank balance has increased substantially. Anais is currently a Restauranteur ($1330 daily) and Will is an Executive Chef ($1208 daily). I got a kick out of Nanny Calista - who was Will's beloved nanny in Australia & who Will called upon to be his Callista's nanny (yes, the King's daughter was named after Will's nanny, who adored and raised him like her own son for many many years ) . Here she is bursting into a happy Smustle out of the blue!!! It appears Nanny Calista was quite happy to come out of retirement in Australia to help raise the King babe.

I actually don't play with Seasons, Sandy. I inherited a copy of the EP from my Sissy, but have never had enough interest in Seasons to install it. So, it's always spring/summer in old Sugah's game, where my Sims can always play chess/sleep/dine & do most anything outside without worry of being rained out, struck by lightening, stuck in a blizzard or frozen to death! Someday I may install it, but for now, I'm happy with the EPs & SPs I am playing with. - Lady S wrote:

Nanny Calista plays the bongos at the King abode every chance she gets. I recolored a crib to go with the King's new bed and some wall decor celebrating both of their homes (Australia & Antigua). And check out this darling toddler. Callista has her mama's skin and hair color, but I believe she looks more like her daddy. She definitely has the color of his gorgeous baby blues! And is she a stylish little sweetheart or what???

Sandy, I thank you. As ever, if there is anything you see that I've created for my own game ... And you'd like it for yours, please feel free to ask. I am happy to share! Also, if you like the crib & bed set, I have offered some at Sugah's "And Baby Makes Three". IRT- I introduced the Benoit family HERE in my post of April 16th pm and thought I'd share more about them in this thread. The Benoits have a gorgeous feline named Lady Luv. This is one beautiful, well-behaved, successful and much loved cat. She's in Showbiz and is a Star. The Benoits are enjoying their success. Veronica (Aries, Popularity Sim, Hobby: Music & Dance) is in the Entertainment Career & currently making $2540 daily as a Headliner. Clayton (Scorpio, Fortune Sim, Hobby: Music & Dance) is in the Athletic Career & currently making $1750 daily as a Coach. They continue to add on to their two story home. They have built a pool & did a bit of landscaping around it. Here, they are relaxing on their day off. Their toddler, Desireé, recently had a birthday and I shall share the pic of her as a child in my Offspring Project thread. I love the way daddy and daughter are looking at one another in the above snapshot.

| Hubby's flight back home was canceled last night due to severe weather in our area (hail, flood and thunderstorm warnings, tornadoes, etc etc). So, while he was safe and snug in his hotel room in OKC, I braved the D-FW storms in the company of the Benoit family. Both Veronica and Clayton have now reached the top of their careers. He's a Hall of Famer earning $3033 daily. She's a Prestidigitator (I admit, I had to look that one up ) earning $3105. Needless to say, their bank account is quite padded, even with all the home improvements. Here's Lady Benoit on promotion day. The couple had been wanting to expand their family. Veronica trying to find her center while carrying child #2. Welcome, Dion!!! (I shared a toddler snapshot of Dion & an image of Desireé, now a teen, in my Offspring Project Thread earlier. ) These Tres Lagos kids have the coolest nannies! Here's Nanny Karen swinging Desireé around by the pool. Lovin' the tender moments of the game, even after all these years. "Daddy's home!!!" Yes, the Benoits bribed the head master so Desireé could get into private school. The "neighborhood admin" (as Mac calls us Pixel People Gods ) can not abide sucking up to that puffed up, pompous, snooty, impossible-to-please head school master. So, it's worth it to slip him the $5000 Simoleons to get the kiddos into Tres Lagos Lakeside Prep Academy. Desireé is currently an A+ student and has just joined the Military (career). She's a Fitness Sim and very active, neat & outgoing (Aries). I'm enjoying this family, but am missing the Kings, Benedettos & Haeven brood. Hoping to spend some time with one or two of those fams next... | |

I don't know if this is a coinky dink or not but it seems if my family makes friends with the nannies, hangs out with them after work and tips them ... The nannies don't ignore their kiddos or leave dirty diapers and bottles everywhere. I've had some nannies in previous games that play on the computer, go swimming or do just about anything rather than tending to the little ones! They don't last long on the job, needless to say. Did you catch a glimpse of the Benoit's gorgeous cat Lady Luv? I can't remember where I downloaded her from, but she has to be one of my all time fave custom kitties!

You're braver than I am if you're playing during lightning storms! After my SIL had, in two incidents, two telephones blow off the wall and a computer explode, I started unplugging mine. They live out in the country with lots of trees, and both times lightning struck a tree near the house. Some years back, I stood on the front porch and watched lightning strike a tree across the street, so I don't feel any safer in town. Have you had a nanny yet who seems determined to fatten up the kiddies? I've had one who just kept serving meals. She was expensive and annoying! The Benoit's cat is gorgeous. I only have a few custom pets in my game. A Vizsla dog, a Sheepdog, three colors of Abyssinian cats, a Rottweiler, some other kind of dog, and Goddess (you know her as Minxie in your game).

The Benoit's Nanny Karen, I believe, tends to grill pork ribs & make Hawaiian pizza on her own. A couple times I have seen her leaving the grill with a serving plate full of food or have found pizza sitting on the counter top that I didn't ask anyone to make. I don't mind, since the Benoits now have more money than the Rockefellers. I just have someone put it in the fridge. My Sims all like leftovers. Last night, I visited the Haevens (Zen, Evie & Celeste). Evie is now at the top of her career in Intelligence (SCIA). Zen has been the Hand of Poseidon for awhile. I changed Celeste's personality, as she didn't seem much like a Gemini to me. In fact, quite the opposite! So, I made her a Virgo. She's nicer now and quite the darling. A new family member is on the way! A day before the new Haeven babe arrived, Celeste morphed into a lovely teen. (I shared a teen snapshot & a couple of pics of her new sibling in my Offspring thread HERE. ) I had it in my mind that Celeste, a Knowledge Sim, would be my first Tres Lago Medical Professional. But her heart's desire is to be the Hand of Poseidon, just like her beloved dad. Awwww!!! Such a daddy's girl!

| With Celeste & Desireé now teenagers already (where does the time go? ), I wanted my first round of siblings in Tres Lagos to sort of grow up together. So, I spent some time with Anthony, KimberLee, Mia, Anna, Isabella & Celestino - the Benedetto brood - last night in hopes of seeing Isabella enter her teen years. Well, no such luck. However, I did capture some neat moments. I love the whole random tucking in thing this game has going on, don't you? Has it been so long that I've had teens & kids simultaneously in a household... That I'd forgotten they have an option to snuggle on the couch together??? I LOVE this! Anna & Isabella have snuggle time while mommy looks on. Tender moments. You may recall Anthony was abducted and impregnated by aliens (not one of his best days ). Here's Mia with Celestino. He ain't heavy. He's my (alien) brother. Yikes!!! I've mentioned before how much I like Mia & Anna as teens. They are such sweet, darling girls. So, I've been giving them the Elixer of Life to prolong their teenage years in the Benedetto household. I'll know when the time is right for them to grow into adults. But that time is not now. Old Sugah isn't ready for them to leave their family's nest yet. | |

I didn't know they could do that! I didn't know the toddlers could "huggle" until my SIL told me a few years ago. Let's hope Celestino grows into his looks, though I'm not sure if that will be a good thing or a bad thing. - Quote :

Awww. That's nice. They're good kids and it's a good time for them to learn a lot and get close to their younger siblings. I use an aging mod that also includes the option for kids to have the summer off. They can still go to summer school if necessary, but having the summer off allows them more time to build skills and interact more with the family. I often have extended family over during that time so the kids can really get to know their grandparents and cousins.
