| Subject: Need Some Feedback on a Member's Downloading Issue - Solved! Mon Sep 30, 2013 1:59 pm | |
| My forum friends: I have received this PM from one of our members... - sjdegriz wrote:
- Unable to download any lot on your site today.every time you click on the download button of a Lot,it takes you to "Mediafire" and once your there you are shown a large window with a crazy puzzle to solve before they will let you do the download.I tried logging in on Mediafire thinking then they would let me do the download,no such luck.the puzzle window stays there insisting that in order for me to get my download i must do this stupid puzzle, sometimes the puzzle window is empty and it still insists that i solve the puzzle!!!
sorry to keep bothering you about this,i bet there are other having the same problems. Thanks again "sjdegriz" Have any of you had this experience when downloading from Sugah's Place? Any and all feedback is welcome and much appreciated. Many thanks, S PS I just tested this by trying to download Toni's Topaz Bay and had no issues whatsoever. Image below is what I experienced when attempting to download: You will note, there is no puzzle to solve as described in sjdegriz's PM. Curious, strange stuff!

| I Just tried downloading something from there and got the usual download page. I tried it with both Internet Explore and Firefox with no problems. Makes me wonder if maybe sjdegriz is having computer or browser problems. | |

| This is very good information, Aaroneous, and thank you for attempting to download using two different browsers (IE and Firefox). I might add that I use Google Chrome. I hadn't thought it could possibly be a browser issue. Hmmm... If anyone else is willing to test downloading (from Prime Real Estate, in particular, as that is the section our member has specified as problematic), I would be most grateful. Again, your thoughts are much appreciated, folks! | |

| I just did some further digging around and I think I know what they are refereeing to. It's seems for one reason or anther some of Toni's downloads require a Captcha code to be entered before You can download them, My bet it has something to do with Mediafire. I am not sure why only some of them though.

| Okay, this is something worth bringing up to Toni. I wonder if it has something to do with her Mediafire account settings? I will PM her about this matter to see what she can offer on the subject, Aaroneous. Thank you! Keep the feedback comin', members. We'll get to the bottom of this yet. | |

| It's a mediafire thing.
Captchas can crop up randomly to ensure the down-loader is human and not a bot. They can also be triggered after many downloads, or multiple simultaneous downloads or if a file is downloaded more than once.
It's designed to prevent abuse and does not affect the file. If you are still uncomfortable using it...just stop downloading for a while, and go back later and try again.
Hope this helps! | |

| Good to know! I wondered if that wasn't the case, though I am curious as to why this one particular member is having the issue repeatedly? Thank you so much for the input, Toni. I appreciate the response. | |

| Subject: Pics only or must I also post a link to the Sim? [Solved - Closed] Sat Nov 02, 2013 12:01 pm | |
| Hi. One of the things I find very appealing about this site is the new board that gives members a chance to post images of their other worldly or alien sims. I've developed and created literally hundreds of these and I was wondering if its possible to post pics only of my creations? Well, for the time being, anyway.
The reason I ask this because of all of the custom content I have in my game, which is quite a lot, collected over many years and it could be a problem for those who wish to download my sims with all content intact.
What I mean is, many of the sites I originally got much of my content from no longer exist and/or that CC is no longer available so this could be a problem for some.
Still, I imagine much of it could be relocated in a WCIF thread here or on other sites.
Still, I'd like to share pictures, at least.
Thanks. |

| Ed, Tim (aka Grykon) is correct. If you are wanting to share images of your Sims, you are welcome to start your own thread in our What's Going on in Your Game section. Some of our members like to share in story form, but that is not necessary. I, myself, am not a storyteller. I just like to share what I'm up to in game sometimes. We have some rules regarding sharing game antics, so stop by HERE first. Thanks for assisting Ed, Timster. I appreciate you, as always. Ed, if you have any more questions on this subject, please feel free to post them here. I will leave this thread open for a few more days. | |

| If You're talking about content for this site You can do that here. Make sure You read the sticky in that section. Also You will need a external file host like Mediafire or Box. | |

| In addition, if you don't want your content exclusive to Sugah's, you can create a thread here about your game, sims and items. As Aaron said you do need to host the items at Box or Mediafire (I like Box myself) and then link the item to your thread. Welcome to Sugah's and Thanks for wanting to share with us! | |

| I'm pretty sure upload sites are not restricted, some are liked/preferred better then others, but Sugah or one of the other ladies can answer better once things settle down from the holiday. | |

| Hi, Scarlet, and welcome to Sugah's Place! There is no restriction on which hosting site you can use, but as Timster pointed out the preferred hosts are MediaFire and Box. It is ultimately up to you which one you choose. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. Timster and Aaron, so nice of you to help Scarlet out. | |

| Thank you, Aaron, Tim and Elle for answering Scarlet's questions. I have since sent her a PM answering in a bit more detail and pointing her to the rules for sharing gifts with SP here as Aaron has advised. Remember! To those who want to share creations here at SP, they must first be approved by yours truly and meet the standards and requirements of our little forum. I appreciate all of you!!! | |

| Subject: Skin changer? [Locked - Solved!] Sun Dec 29, 2013 9:00 pm | |
| Does anyone know of a hack that could change an existing sims skin? (A mirror can change hair and makeup, etc and plastic surgery can change the facial shape - but can anything change the skin?)
It's probably possible in SimPE, but is there an easier way? | |

| I know Christianlov(at Mod The Sims) made a hacked object that allowed You to change a sim's skin tone, But from what I remember it only affect how the sim looked and not their DNA. Sadly the only way to change the sim's DNA is to use SimPe. If You are interested in the object You can find it here.

| Aaroneous is right. Custom skintone selector by Christianlov is great hacked object, very useful, but may (or may not) conflict your game - CleanInstaller always mark it red. I used to use this object for many years and had no problems. When I deleted it (mistakenly), all changes reverted to the original state. I hope it will serve you well :)

| Aaroneous and Lowisa - you come through again! Actually, though, it's not much use without Christianluv's CPackEditor, which he seems to have pulled down from all sites. | |
