Okay, there's a possibility some maintenance is going on. We've gotten that kind of notice before.
I'd check back in awhile. The first time that ever happened, I was freaking out.
Turns out Forumotion was in maintenance mode and we all don't seem to experience it at the same time.

The great thing about Forumotion is they do regular back ups. Restoration of Simply Edwards shouldn't be an issue.

Sugar if you went here: http://simplyedward.forumotion.com/ and registered as I see you did, If you were using that password anywhere else, change it now. That does not look right.

I may be paranoid but better to be safe than sorry.

Isn't http://simplyedward2.forumotion.net the addy, Russ? The one you supplied has no 2 and a .com, rather than .net.

I have completely different passwords now ... about 35-40 of them for all of my different accounts. No two are alike whatsoever.
Like you, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I know I posted a different url, but did you notice you are a registered user on that site?

I checked the date I registered on that site and it shows 2009-05-30. I don't remember this, Russ.

There's a possibility it was a site Ed might've started, then abandoned. Not sure!

This looks like a completely different site to me. I think you are right, Sugah. It looks like a site started by Ed and then abandoned.

But.....SIMply Edward is gone.

It says it doesn't exist.

I got an email saying my site was deleted due to inactivity by an Administer of SIMply Edward. I've already got a thread about it over at Forumotion Forums.

The one link Russ posted was in fact a site I did start but dropped. And, yes, Sugah, you did register......I decided to go with the site I have now. In all honesty, I think I'm being hacked. Time will tell. If I am hacked, I'm just going to let it go and just do a few things here and there.

I hope I answered all the Messages I've gotten.....

They can restore your site!!!

Did you use the same passwords for Photo Bucket & Media Fire? If you didn't - you should be fine once they restore your site.

You have to write them ASAP though!!

My actual forum wasn't hacked because I had a different password than from Photo Bucket and Media Fire - but since it was only your forum that was attacked - they should be able to restore it to it's last back up point.

Where did you write - do you have the URL? I think you probably went the right way - but if I were you I'd ask Sugah about who and where she wrote because they restored her forum in about 24 hours.

I wish you luck Ed - I would hate to see you lose all of your hard work and for your members to be left without that home to go to.

Also - PLEASE feel free to post at Basic - if you'd like I'll start a thread about it and you can post what you'd like. In fact I'll do that in my News Section - I'll just do a little blurb - and then you can type whatever you'd like.

Good Luck on this Ed. Jeez - this really sucks. I'm sure it's the same person/people. You should ALSO ask Forum Motion if they can get the IP of the user who deleted your site. Then you can check with Sugah to see if they're the same.

I had to use the backup feature and it was dated from yesterday.

I posted this over at SIMply Edward's, but thought I'd do so here, as well.

I must say, I am so impressed with Forumotion's response to our hijackings, Ed.
They restore our little forums and get them back up in no time, thankfully.

I wanted you to take a look at your Admin Panel and the admin activity during the course of the possible hijacking. You will see an IP addy completely different from yours, just as I did.
I have checked the IP addy that hijacked my site and it IS THE SAME.
When I Google the IP of the hacker, it comes up as the same internet server: THEPLANET.COM INTERNET SERVICES with the location being in Houston.

I was told to file a claim at ic3.gov.
I also reported the hacking to the above internet provider, too.

Glad to see you back up and running. Wouldn't it be interesting if someone hacked into their computers... I wonder if they think it would be as funny? I think not.

Actually Simply Edward has been hacked again.

Ed, did you ban the IP of whoever it was this time? I am assuming it was a different one from the IP you banned this past time.

Forumotion think's it's a proxy IP address.
