Hmm. Well, for mermaids you could use colors of the sea, like different shades of blue and bluegreen , maybe even some purple. Maybe with a shot of something bright like a piece of coral or something?

For fairies, maybe earthy colors? Colors of the wood - green, brown, some autumny colors.

That's what comes to mind at the moment. I'll let you know if I think of something else.

The colors are perfect! Thank you! I picture those, too, but...

I was wondering more of what kind of objects or rooms do you imagine you would need/like for a mermaid/fairy?

LOLOL!! Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 99672 I totally misread your post yesterday. Lack of caffeine and all that...

Umm...well...I think what you already like to do would be fantastic. Pretty walls with borders you can pluck colors from to recolor furniture and flooring. Bedrooms and living rooms? A nice picture or so...I don't feel like I'm really being helpful here at all. Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 971462

I appreciate your suggestions, Ari.

Since I don't have fairies or mermaids in my game and have never built or decorated an abode for either...
I didn't know what one might WANT to put in a mermaid's house, for example.
Would all of their furniture be the same as any other Sim's?
The colors would be of the sea, but would they live in a house that looked just like their "normal" neighbors?
Or would it be more enchanting? Other worldly, if you will?

That's what I'm not sure of. Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 553217

Hmm. I think we were on a different wavelength. I was thinking you were going to decorate a house using mermaid/fairy themed items - not actually decorate for a mermaid/fairy. In that case, I think it would be more difficult to come up with ideas. And I'm clueless at the moment. Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 85797

Perhaps more otherworldly or dream like in its appeal, but with the same types of items as everyone else? Maybe the bathroom could be the main focus of a mermaid with a large tub.

Hmmm...The bathroom being the main focus might be the way to go with it, Ari.
I wonder, for those who play with mermaids in their games ... do you think they just put them in regular houses with sea/mermaid themed recolors/walls?
Or do they try to create a "mermaid world"?
I've seen fairy abodes before...very enchanting...sort of green and looking a lot like it belongs with the natural elements of the lot (trees/greenery/flowers, etc).

Thank you for your input. I truly appreciate it, m'lady.

Ok I just had to share this with everyone. My hubby decided he wanted to start building houses for TS2, and has set about teaching himself how to do so. I've helped him out with what little basics I know - because we all know that building is SO not my thing. He was already saying, within the first ten minutes, "No wonder so many people download stuff for this game." Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 99672

So I gave him a link to Sugah's for some awesome walls, and he played with some of the tools and made a house. Now he's starting to decorate it. It's by no way finished, but I wanted to share what he's done. He went and found some windows to download, all by himself, and asked me where to put them. And he's already exploring the move_objects cheat, along with the rotate and snapobjects cheats that are so essential to building.

Anyway, this is what he has so far for the main room.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 TestHouseFirstRoom

I'll show you more as he progresses. He has used Sugah's Stucco - in pink, for the exterior - Sugah's stucco was his very first download. AWWW!

Other than that, I've been playing a few families sort of following the Prosperity guidelines, but not for a score or anything. I rolled 5 random families and am playing them on rotation, without cheats or hacks - you know, the old fashioned way. I thought Mac's idea for playing each family for one season was just brilliant. It turns out to be just the right amount of time to make me eager to get back to each family. When I tried this before I was going for a sim week, because that seemed like a good cut off point, but it was a little too long. And doing fewer days than that, I would always lose track of what day to switch since it changed from week to week. SO...one season is perfect. And it makes the sim year progress nicely for all my families.

I haven't really taken any pictures, but I can introduce the families later on, if anyone is interested. I did, however, take a couple of pics so I could show Sugah which of her walls I used.

This is Lane's house. Here's his kitchen:

And his living room:
Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Lane2

And one of his bathrooms:
Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Lane3

They look just smashing, dahling!

I'm having fun with it so far, and hoping my ADHD doesn't kick in too soon. Rolling Eyes I've played it long enough for the toddlers of my founder families to grow into teens, and the teens into adults. The first baby of the second generation has just been conceived. I'm so proud. Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 738528

Thank you guys for the compliments on Harry's house so far. I will certainly pass those on to him. He is enjoying himself so far. Although he doesn't have any interest in actually playing the game, he's looking for a way to get all these ideas out of his head. laughin

Thank you for your compliments on my project, Sugah. I didn't take any pictures along the way because I wasn't really intending to share this with anyone. I already have other unfinished projects that need my attention, but sometimes I just can't stop myself when an idea gets into my head.

I'm thinking a season is about 5 days long - but I will try to check for sure and let you know. But that is what works for me. You are encouraged to use what works for you, but the challenge says no more than 7 days at a time, because one of the points of playing on rotation is that your sims are aging equally.

But I will introduce you to the founding families. You're supposed to roll a die to determine how many families to start with - from 2-6. I already decided 5 would be perfect for me, so that's what I made. You're also supposed to start in a brand new neighborhood - and you need to get rid of the townies. This can be done by using a deleteallcharacters cheat (which never worked for me), or you can delete them manually via killing them all off, lol. But I find it easy just to make the neighborhood and then exit the game before making my sims. Then I simply delete everything in the character file for that neighborhood. Be careful with this - it will delete ANY sim in the hood - so make sure you have the right neighborhood before you use it. Then I proceeded from there and later made my own townies.

My neighborhood is called Forest Heights. Everyone has a tree name. I used randomizers to determine everything - not only personality, aspiration, and family size, but also skintone, eye color, and hair color. Also turn ons and turn offs.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Oak
Family 1: The Oak Family

The elder is Esmerelda - romance - LTW - can't remember
Her son, Placeholder - can you guess his fate? - nothing else matters because he died within the first two days
The boy is Kelley - he rolled fortune (for when he ages to teen) - LTW - reach the top of the dance career
The girl is Ashlee - knowledge - LTW - reach the top of....dangit - I forgot

This was the first family that got to play with the hacked computer. You're not supposed to use mood enhancers, money cheats, or hacks/cheats and I didn't. But the house cost the family most of their money so I decided to have them take out a loan. Esmerelda was off at her elder job (which doesn't pay enough for bills), and I had Kelley take out the loan. The loan was then in his name (oops) and he was responsible for paying it back. A $10,000 loan is a pretty steep responsibility for a child. So I kinda pretended that Esmerelda took out the loan in her grandson's name. laughin

The loan system is very cool - and it's not easy to pay back because it accrues interest - which made bills a nightmare for this family. It wasn't long before the loan was all used up and the family was quickly plunging into debt. I thought for awhile I would have to take out another loan to stay afloat.

When Kelley aged to teen, he bought a cat and sent it to work. This was a brilliant idea, because the pets can make around $700/day at the top of their careers, not to mention the bonuses on their way there. This helped immensely, because teens and elders don't make squat.

There is so much more I could say about this family, but I don't want to bore everyone since I have no pictures to share. By the time Kelley aged to adult, he had most of his loan paid off. He moved out, and so will his sister, leaving Esmerelda alone in the house with the cat. The ghost of Placeholder never comes out anymore, so it should be pretty peaceful.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Dogwood
Family 2: The Dogwood Family

The elder is Eve - knowledge - LTW - max all 7 skills
The adult is Chandra - popularity - LTW - have 20 simultaneous pet best friends (wtf??)
The toddler is Rosalyn - knowledge - LTW - become a Space Pirate

Rosalyn was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. With such a small family, it was not hard for Chandra to keep the family living well. And with Eve's lifetime aspiration of maxing all 7 skills, she was home all the time and the family never needed a nanny. Rosalyn had opportunities that many of my other teens did not have. And by the time she was a teen, she had nearly maxed out her creativity - so she creates masterpieces when she doesn't have wants to work on skills. Rosalyn has a consistent want to go to private school, and she may actually get that before she grows up. The girl knows everyting - she's never had to work and has oodles of time to skill.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Beech
Family 3: The Beech Family

The adult is Lane - popularity - LTW - have 20 simultaneous pet best friends (how stupid is this want?)
The teen is Carter - Pleasure - LTW - something stupid but I can't remember

I wasn't planning on making an elf family - honest! But when Lane's beautiful self showed up in my CAS, I was powerless to resist. His son is also an elf. They're one hot looking family. These two cracked me up, because money was tight and they both had to work. Neither of them had time to learn how to cook, so they lived off of sandwiches and cereal. laughin Lane's career didn't really start taking off until Carter reached adulthood and moved out. Now Lane is making very good money and doing well in his science career. Lane was either very lucky, or very unlucky. I rolled almost twice as many females as I did males, and half the males I rolled were under adult age. So he found himself the ONLY single male in the entire neighborhood with 4 single females (not counting the elders). He had a brief fling with 3 of them before I finally decided which one to settle him down with. That was quite a difficult decision for me.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Cedar
Family 4: The Cedar Family

From left to right:
Allyson - popularity - LTW - become a Captain Hero
Julianna - knowledge - LTW - become head of the SCIA
Lorrie - knowledge - LTW - reach the top of some career which will never happen because elders really get screwed this way
Odessa - family - LTW - can't remember - does it matter? She can't have it, anyway
Tia - popularity - LTW - forgot

One of the things you're supposed to do in this challenge is to make everyone in the family related. No roommates. So the elders are sisters and the adults are sisters - their mother is Lorrie. Tia's mother is Julianna.

Elder family sims are difficult without toddlers, so Odessa has had it kind of rough. You are allowed to roll a second aspiration for your sims - but if you choose to do that, you have to stick with it - no matter what. I rolled one for her - she got grilled cheese. I barely got enough aspiration points in her bank to afford some elixir of life before she died of old age. But she consistently rolls up stupid wants, so she will not be able to cheat death long. A rule that I made up is that each sim must earn their own elixir - and no one else can use it. I have not decided how long to let the elders live. It sounds really sad, but it's unnatural for them to live forever. Especially once the neighborhood starts growing. Even if I moved them all to a house together - it would still be kind of weird for them to be alive when the 5th generation starts. So I've decided to let the elders earn 1 bottle of elixir - and that's all they get. Then their natural life span will determine how much time they get.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Maple
Family 5: The Maple Family

The adult - Jenna - Pleasure - LTW - have 50 1st dates (SO ain't gonna happen)
The teen - Apryl - Fortune - LTW - reach the top of some career
The boy child - Harrison - Fortune (when he grows up) - LTW - own 5 top level businesses (HELL no)
The girl child - Arie - knowledge - LTW - become a Criminal Mastermind
The lighter boy toddler - Austin - romance - LTW - woohoo with 20 different sims (I seriously doubt it)
The darker boy toddler - Cary - family - LTW - raise 20 puppies or kittens (UGH)

This is a busy family and things were hard at first. Luckily, Jenna had enough money in the bank that she could afford to stay home and raise her toddlers to children, then she found a business job so her hours would match their school hours. Their house was seriously ugly - a maxis house painted all in green with green astroturf-like carpet. But she didn't have money to start redecorating until all the kids had grown into teens. Now their house is looking pretty spiffy, thanks to Sugah - I'll have to get some pics.

This was the only family that somehow earned a genie lamp. I actually think it's random. But I've decided that any family that earns a lamp - the lamp stays with the house. I had Jenna use it for peace of mind since there's NO way she'll ever see her lifetime want come to fruition. I'll most likely let Austin have a wish, and then maybe Harrison.

Austin is the weirdest romance sim I've ever seen. Perhaps it's because he's still a teen. All he wants to to is play chess all the time and gain logic points. I invited him over to someone else's house and he went straight to the chessboard, lol.

Since I had so many more females than males, I waited until all the kids grew into teens before deciding which sims to pair together. This is what I have:

Kelley (from family 1) and Arie (from family 5)
Ashlee(1) and Harrison(5)
Rosalyn(2) and Austin (5)
Lane(3) and Allyson(4) - newlyweds
Carter(3) and Jenna(5) - newlyweds - and triple chemistry!!
Tia(4) and Cary(5)

Julianna, Apryl, and Chandra are the unlucky ladies who did not receive a mate. I'm still deciding what to do with them. I may move Julianna in with Chandra and have them adopt a child. And I think Apryl will have to wed a townie. Initially, I didn't want to bring townies into it, but then I realized that I will eventually have to, because the original 5 families can only breed so much before their options run out.

Additionally, thanks to ACR, married couples will try for baby on their own - and I'm tempted to let the families go and see what happens and how big their families turn out to be. I don't know if nonfamily sims try for baby after the first one, though.

Lane and Allyson are the lucky couple who conceived right at the end of their rotation - all on their own! They tried once, and nothing. Then one night they sat down to watch a werewolf movie together. The tv blew out right in the middle of the movie so they went and woohooed instead - and she got pregnant! Now there's a story for the grandchildren, lol.

I want each pair to have at least one child to carry their genes along.

So there you have it - what I've been doing lately. Probably quite boring without pictures, but I'll take a couple next time I play.

Ari,
I am so far behind on your stories, I'm sorry...

Anyhoo, that is so wonderful that your sweetie wants to build houses. He did a fantastic job on his first one so far. Ted used to like to build homes on our friends Sims game, this was before I ever started playing.

I think that is awesome that he is already d/l cc for his homes that Sugah's wall was one of the very first things that he got.

I love you challenge that you are doing.I haven't seen that one before but it might be one I am going to try out. They are all beautiful families and I love your idea of just playing them for one season so that you don't get bored with them so soon.

Excellent story telling my dear, can't wait to read what happens next

All your families show a lot of imagination.

And thanks for sharing the details. I am often distracted into playing with my simmies instead of finishing my projects. But it is a game and you are supposed to have fun with it whether creating or playing or enjoying the benefits of the Sims Community on the internet.

It was fun meeting all of your families, Ari. Whenever I read about a challenge you're playing, it makes me want to play too! I've been playing with the idea of playing families in one of my hoods for a season at a time, but I downloaded a hack that makes season 3 days instead of 5 and that works pretty well for me. Your families are all beautiful and interesting. I look forward to hearing more about how they progress. It sounds like you're off to a great start!

Wow, everyone! Thank you for showing so much interest. Now I kind of wish I had been sharing since I started. Well, I guess I was kind of embarrassed because I have a tendency to start projects and not finish them. I still need to finish my Duggar challenge and my asylum - and some day make my way back to the La Femme project. I guess I can't just do one thing for very long and have to keep switching around to keep my interest up. That's one of the reasons why this challenge works for me, I suppose.

Here is a list of the rules - but they're very long to read. And, as usual when I play challenges, I don't keep score - I just like to see if I can actually do the challenge.

Basically it boils down to this:

-Create random families in CAS. The number of family members, their age, sun signs, and aspirations, must all be random.
-Play each family for an equal amount of time - but no more than 7 days - so the neighborhood can age at the same rate.
-You must take all chance cards. I'm actually finding I'm liking this, because it adds a sense of realism to my play. Yesterday, poor Kelley *finally* found his dream job after searching for so long, but ended up getting fired his first day of work. It makes me appreciate what my sims have to go through, and gives them each a story. It makes their life different then everyone else's. And it keeps me from falling into that playing every family the same way rut.
-No more CAS sims after the original families. Pretend your CAS families are colonizing a brand new neighborhood. They can only marry/move in other sims from the founding families, or townie/service sims they meet.
-No hacks or cheats - well, none that affect the spirit of the challenge. No mood enhancers or money cheats. Some of my sims have had it very rough, but they've survived - and that gives them more character. I use some hacks myself, but what I've chosen to use could realistically happen in real life.

That is basically it. Their houses can be built or downloaded - you can use any custom content. But they have to be able to afford it. If I want my sims to have the $1 downloaded tiles because I think they look best, then I floor the room with something that the $1 tile *should* cost, then floor over it with the $1 stuff. I don't let my sims get away with anything or get any free rides. They have to work.

My favorite hacks that I'm still using are:

A homework hack that calls sims to do their homework at 7 p.m. This is not any different than a parent saying - do your homework at 7pm or you're grounded. And sims will stop doing it (or refuse altogether) if their needs are low - so they can still fall behind.

A hack that asks permission before your sim kids bring friends home after school.

I'm loving the hacked computer and only use it for: shopping online. We can do this in real life, why shouldn't my sims be able to do it, as well? If they age into ugly clothes, they have to wait until they can afford to buy the computer, and the outfit they want (they still cost as much as they would in a store) and a dresser (or at least a clothes rack) so they can set their new everyday outfit. Sure I can take them downtown to buy clothes - but I really hate waiting for extra load times to take them to a community lot.

I use the hacked computer to play SSX - it raises fun and social - so I'm assuming sims are playing multiplayer games. I do it, why can't they?

I use it to buy pets and collars - shopping online makes sense.

I used it to take out a loan for one of my families. Poor Kelley is *still* paying off this loan.

I have a hack that enables a toddler potty to be used more than once before being emptied. Sims still empty it whenever they want, but let's be honest. If you have two toddlers and you're potty training them both, would you really take the time to empty it after the first one, especially if the second one was getting ready to pee his/her pants?

A hack that warns when food is getting low. Every time I open my fridge, I can see how much food is left. I don't suddenly realize the fridge is empty upon making a meal and then have to order more (or buy a new fridge) before I can eat. Since my sims have to work hard for their money, buying a new fridge just to restock is not an option unless they can afford to upgrade. And maxis should have built in warnings about food all along, in my opinion.

I use a weather controlling hack ONLY to set the season for sims who have moved out - just to ensure their season matches the rest of the neighborhood. I've let the seasons run their course. I swear El Nino has been going through my hood, as I've had several nasty thunderstorms and winter storms. In one rotation, the kids didn't go to school for three days straight because of the heavy snowfall. And two of my sims have been struck by lightning (but I wasn't controlling them at the time) - thankfully they are ok.

Em's season shortener sounds like a pretty good idea, too, because it doesn't affect the basics of the challenge, but just makes gameplay more sreamlined and comfortable.

I have taken out my 'no friends needed' for career hacks. They all have to climb the ladder the hard way.

Anyway, you get the idea. And I talk far too much.

Grilled cheese sims can paint...grilled cheese. Here are some of Odessa's pieces.

Upon growing into adulthood, Julianna congratulates her daughter on not going to college. Motherhood fail.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Lorriepanic
While I was inside helping Tia shop for a more suitable outfit, I didn't notice her grandmother, Lorrie, outside panicking over a tree that had been struck by lightning. The rain had stopped, so I had someone inside call emergency.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Outfire
I had Lorrie use an extinguisher because I couldn't get her to run inside, but thankfully the firefighter arrived in time to help.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Tiastruck
Tia was struck by lightning while visiting one of my other sim's lots. It was hilarious that she stayed all blackened and burned until I got to her rotation.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Tianormal
But normally she's quite lovely.

I need to remember to take more pictures. Two more babies have been conceived - YAY! A couple of sims have moved out and started their adult lives with the partner of their choice. Lots of fun so far!

Thanks guys! I love you I love you

I remembered to take more pictures this time around.

The Oak Family (family 1) was next up on the rotation list.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Gypsysneaking
Esmerelda caught the gypsy sneaking up to her door. Another lamp! WOOT! Originally, I had said the lamp would stay with the house. But I've rethought that. Esmerelda is getting old, and really doesn't have much use for it. But she knows her grandson-in-law does. So now I'm thinking there's really no reason why the owner of the lamp can't give it someone he or she has a high relationship with. That enables more sims to reach their lifetime want, and takes the pressure off me for the stupid ones that I don't care to try for.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Adustylamp
Esmerelda invites her granddaughter, Ashlee, over and then gifts the lamp to her. I love Ashlee's face. "You're giving me...a dusty old lamp?"

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Esfired
Esmerelda made a bad decision at work and got fired. I was going to find her another job, but since she doesn't have a lot of time left, I thought I would let her chase her wants of having multiple lovers. The cat brings in plenty of money for them to live on, anyway.

The it was on the The Dogwood Family (family 2)

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Privateschoolfail
Rosalyn is only days away from growing up. Consistently throughout her teens she wanted to go to private school. So I spiffed up the house as much as I could and invited the headmaster over. Result: fail. Rosalyn looks crushed.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Dogwoodlamp
The Dogwood family earns a lamp! WOOT!!

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Rosalyuniform
I decided to try again to get Rosalyn into private school. Success! I really think some of the headmasters are easier to please than others. And it helps you get an extra 10 points if the headmaster takes a drink at the bar. Rosalyn grew up into a happy adult. And I forgot to take a picture of that. D'OH!

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Chandralush
I was going to sell the bar since the house is small and there really isn't room for it. Chandra, Rosalyn's mother, is turning into a total lush. She spends much of her free time drinking. Just look at her face, lol. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with her. She's popularity with a secondary aspiration of family. She rolls up 0 family wants. I might just let her live in the house after her daughter moves Austin in.

Off to the Beech Family (family 3)

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 BabyHunter
The first baby of the second generation is born! It's a girl, and her name is Hunter. She has mommy's almond shaped brown eyes and daddy's black hair.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 BabyHunter2
Here she is as a bubbly toddler.

That's all the pictures I took of this family. They've been in a whirlwind of baby raising and promotion getting during their rotation. Lane, who is doing really well in the science career track, made well on a chance card and earned the family an additional $5,000. Also, Allyson took it upon herself to get pregnant again! I think I'm going to like letting the sims decide on how big their family should be. It makes things more interesting for me.

The Cedar Family (family 4)

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Please-1
All poor Julianna has done is work to provide a good living to her family. After her sister Allyson moved out and her daughter Tia grew up, I realized it was time for her to have her own life. Her mother, Lorrie, and Aunt Odessa are both getting quite old, and sadly will not be around much longer. And besides reaching her dream of being head of the SCIA, what else is she to do? She hasn't had a lover since I started this, so I figured it was high time to find one. First I had her check one of her good male friends out - she felt nothing. The family has plenty of money, so I had her call the gypsy. I love how she looks so hopeful.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Ballviewing
I had her pay the maximum amount of $5,000 and they peered into the crystal ball.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Nice
Ooh nice! I forget his name, but he's a family sim and Julianna has double chemistry with him. Their date begins immediately. They both had a great time and he hangs around after so she can get to know him better.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Dogpeegypsy
LOL! LOL!

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Doubleagent
Julianna is rocking it as a Double Agent. What a work uniform. Hubba hubba!

Meanwhile...over at The Maple Family (family 5)

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Preggers
Apryl discovers she's pregnant. She surprised me. She moved her boyfriend in, and they aren't even engaged, but they decided to try for baby, anyway. Now I've seen female family sims do this (with ACR), but Apryl is a fortune sim. And her boyfriend (whose name I can't rember - but he's an elf!) is a knowledge sim.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Catviewing
Speaking of said elf father of Apryl's spawn, here he sits on the couch with the cats.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Austintalkbaby
Austin - the romance teen who plays chess so much that he's maxed out his logic - tries, on his own, to talk to baby.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Austintalkbaby1
Apryl doesn't let him and smacks his hands away. For being siblings and living together for so long, they have very little relationship with each other.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Caryhome
Cary does his 'Honey, I'm home' thing - which is funny to see since he's still a teen. I've never seen a teen do this, but being a family sim, I guess he's just excited to start a family.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Caryaustinadult
Cary and Austin grow up. Can you say, 'OMG'? Can you drool? Because I am! Yum yum yum.

Originally, I had Cary set to wed and have babies with Tia. But....I'm wondering if I wouldn't like him with Julianna, instead. They would sure make some gorgeous babies. Hmmm...

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Trashtalk
Just a cute shot of the brothers. They both started this challenge as toddlers and are very close.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Catcake
One of the cats chows down on some birthday cake.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Carywish
Since he is grown, I decide to use the second wish for him. I love the way he looked at me as if to ask what he should choose. Psst! Carey - why don't you pick peace of mind so you can have permanent platinum aspiration for the rest of your life instead of trying to meet your lifetime goal of raising 20 puppies or kittens. Because, just between you and me, I *seriously* doubt I have the strength for that. Been there. Done that. Hated. it.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Austinwish
Austin - "Hmm, what should I wish for?"
Psst! Austin - remember that ridiculous lifetime want you have of woohooing with 20 different sim? You're not going to get it. See above.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Russellrenee
Apryl and that elf guy are now the proud parents of twins, Renee and Russell. Renee is the lighter one.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Babybarf
Welcome to parenthood, Apryl.

That's it for now! More soon.

Aw, thank you guys! You make sharing my families fun!

Just a small update today, as I didn't play that long last night. But, I've had my first set of multiples! I have this hack installed in my game, and have chosen the random method - so it will always be a surprise.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Trips
Jenna Beech after giving birth to triplets

If there was any of my families that I hoped would have multiples, it would NOT be this one! There house is way too small for that many people. Actually, they live in the house Mac pointed out to us that his Shanti lives in. It's a lovely 2 story townhome, but it's built on a small lot. I was thinking only 1 child, but no more than 2, for this couple. So I either need to move them or try to expand this house by building a third floor. I hate the thought of adding on because I don't want to destroy the lines of the existing house - I love the way it looks. So, I will most likely move them on their next rotation, after the babies grow to toddlers - they are only about halfway through their turn, so that shouldn't be too hard.

Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 Dontdrop
Carter - "Be careful, honey. Don't drop him."

The triplets are all boys; Tristan, Trevor, and Trenton.

I also modified my existing multiples odds a little. When this happened, there was a 6% chance of trips, but a 15% chance for twins - which I changed to 12% and will probably change again to 10%. I don't want that many multiples, I just like there to be a chance for it so it changes things up a little bit. The chance for quads is set at 3%.

Which baby to hold first?

Also, Harry has finished the living room on his house! Hooray! Here are some pictures:

I think he shows tons of promise. This is only his first house, but he's putting a lot of thought and effort into it. And starting to look for downloads, LOL. When he's all done, he will mail it to me so I can test drive it for him. After that, he'll upload it. Old, Archived Dead Threads Graveyard 3 - Page 3 578473
