Sugah's Sim Antics

I think I'd have an easier time of it if the tutorials helped me through photoskinning using PSP 7, Russ.
I find it far more tedious work, to be honest, than recoloring CC content.
But I WOULD like to improve my photoskinning skills AND beef up our La Petite Boutique!

Good day to you, my forum friends!

I am just now finding time to post images of my game play from back in late August thru early September.
As some of you know, I've been saying I'm going to start an all beach hood forever and fiiiiinally got around to it.

I'd like to introduce to you the very first residents of Aurora Cay: Solange & Jean-Michel DuBois.



You may recognize these gorgeous Sims as our own Toni's Solange and Kyle.

Solange is a Family Sim, an Aquarius, very nice & quite playful.
She has intense passion for great cuisine. Preparing delectable meals is her hobby.

Here she is, in the zone:



She truly is a lovely lady, both inside and out. I really like Solange.
She's a joy to play as is her brother, Jean-Michel.



"Sis, I told you, you are putting in far too many hours at the restaurant lately."

Solange hopes to be a Celebrity Chef one day while raising a big family simultaneously.
She is currently an executive chef.
We shall see if old Sugah can make her dreams come true (YIKES!).

Her beloved brother, Jean-Michel, is a Popularity Sim.
He is extremely outgoing and aspires to be the mayor of Aurora Cay one day.
He is currently a much loved congressman in the Politics career.
I can't remember what his favorite hobby is?!?!

Never let it be said that your local congressman does NOT know how to have any fun.



Jean-Michel and (Sugah's) Sage hit it off immediately. They have many common interests and can pretty much talk about everything (or so it seems). These two really like one another and my best guess would be they'll be falling in love without any help from me.



Things were going so well in the DuBois household that the gypsy hag came by and left them a gift. Both siblings wished for peace of mind all of their days.



I very rarely, if ever, use the money cheat when I play.
It's been slow going financially for these two, as they arrived in Aurora Cay from France with not much more than the clothes on their backs and a tiny savings account.
It took time, but they've finally earned enough money to start fixing up their humble, tiny abode and do some landscaping.



I'm hoping I get to play more when things slow down around here.
My next endeavor will be to find an appealing, suitable match for the lovely Solange.
Hmmm...

Will love soon be in the air for the DuBois siblings?

It's nice to see you playing and sharing your sim adventures, Sugah. Solange and Jean-Michel make a cute brother-sister couple. Looks like things are going well (aside from Solange passing out in her dinner) and their beach house is really cute!

Now....I am LOVIN' Jean- Michel's outfits. Where oh where did you find those babies? I must have them!

I use Wardrobe Wrangler to change more casual outfits like that to workout wear, so my simmies can have a casual look and a super-casual look.

I use a wear-casual-to-work mod because I hate Maxis' work clothes. Also I use so many different body shapes, it's wierd when a beefy body builder suddenly gets normal-sized when he changes for work. So I like to keep their everyday duds fairly professional, and then use the gymclothes for more casual outfits that they can wear at home and hanging out.

Looking forward so seeing where Jean-Michel and Sage's relationship goes...and want to see who Solange ends up with.

The ensemble Solange wears is the more modest one that I created for her, Jean.
However, the original neighborhood pic of her and her beloved brother shows her in the original, more see-thru one.

Toni, I do not know where I found Jean-Michel's apparel.
However, next time I load up my game, I'll try to find out for you.
I know I found a bunch of male summer clothing at MTS2 but am not sure if that's wear Jean-Michel's two ensembles (shown in my snapshots) came from.
Let me see what I can find out when next I enter into CaS mode.
For some reason, BodyShop does NOT pull up on this laptop!?!

It's almost too easy with Jean-Michel and Sage. They are definitely one of those "meant to be" couples.

Oh, and as for Solange and who SHE is going to end up with...

My grandgirl gave me the idea for WHO our lovely french maiden should meet & fall in love with.
The day I took THIS pic of Baylee playing Sims 2 on my desktop, she said to me,
"Nana, I'm going to create a family with twins."

I thought, "VOILA!!! Solange is a family Sim. Why not create a snacky, single male with twin daughters?" And so I did...

Now, Toni, take a look at these two darling teens. They are the spitting image of one of your most gorgeous, favorite Sims of all. It is their father who I have in mind to be with the lovely Solange.

I've been especially wanting to take a pic of the three of them together, so you can see their resemblance to one another up close and personal.

Dayum! He is hot if I do say so myself! I made him just for Sugah's. Don't even have him in my own game yet. But after seeing this shot, all of that is gonna chaaaaaange!

Aside from my Unofficial Baby Boom Challenge, I have been working on a Victorian wall & floor set which was inspired by Tim's Victorian abode (in our Q & A HERE).

I am going to be offering the wall/floor set during our first update of the new year and am thrilled to say, Ulli has already requested the set for a Victorian mansion she is working on (for our next update).

To my credit, I HAVE shared my game antics in Elle's Challenge Arena HERE. I am enjoying participating in her Simming 101: Back to Basics for those of you who haven't checked it out yet.

Sweet Chrisa over at Colour Sims has been working on a new SP banner for our forum.
She needed the headband recolored for our Elle's afro knot hairstyle, sooo...
I opened up BodyShop last night to see what I could do.

Below are the 2 hairband recolors I did for Chrisa and 2 I wanted for my OWN game (for when I start playing The SP Sidekick Chronicles).

I actually got to play my game last night! WOOT!!!
Elle and I spoke awhile ago about exploring all of the EP possibilities with the help of our Prima Guides.
I own AL and BV and have yet to discover everything new those two EPs offer.

I've been wanting to create an active, adventuresome Sim who'd be happy with a simple, modest abode and...
Who would love going on vacations & exploring new destinations.
I FINALLY was able to do so yesterday!

I'd like you to meet my Italian adventurer, Feliciana Pellegrino: Pleasure/Knowledge Sim; Active & outgoing Gemini w/ Fitness as her hobby.
Not coincidently, Feliciana is from the Roman/Latin meaning 'happy & lucky' and Pellegrino is from the Latin meaning 'wanderer'.
So there you have it ... My happy wanderer!!!

I am still trying to perfect my photos. I had the hardest time getting Sim Camera to work. Downloaded Gadwin but they tell me you have to play your game in windowed mode to use it! So anytime I see people whose photo's are good, what do they use? So, what do you use Sugah?

About your pics...

I shared some things with you in your BtB thread.
I don't know anything about Gadwin, Sandy.

HERE is some basic info on taking screenshots and where to find them in your folders.
THIS is an excellent tutorial on taking better Sims 2 pictures.
However, it recommends you do NOT use the in game camera (which doesn't take the best images).

As for me, I am still trying to improve my snapshots.
My method? I use 'print screen', lower my game and paste the huge image into my Paint Shop Pro program.
Then, I crop, resize and sharpen my images, before uploading them to Photobucket.
Photobucket doesn't edit or resize your pictures, unless YOU choose to do so.

I am so excited!!!
The extremely talented Kim (OhBehave) of Cherryblossomsims taught me how to change the comfort/energy & environment level of CC seating.
This is very helpful knowledge for me, as many times I count on sofas & love seats to increase energy levels quickly for napping Sims.
In the case of my recent tiny abodes, my Sims HAVE to sleep on love seats, as the homes are too little to fit beds into.

I tested what Kim taught me on a Steffor-OM love seat that had minimal comfort and energy levels and...
(drum roll, please) ... IT WORKED! WOOT!!!



You can see the arrow pointing towards 9s all across the board for comfort, energy and environment!
I've also increased the numbers on a MummySim love seat I really like, too.
I was so thrilled about being able to accomplish the changes, I just had to share it with you all.

As long as I've got your attention, the seating you see in the image is my recolor of OhBehave's (aka Kim) Xi love seat.
The paintings are a recolor of her Angel's Lounge wall art.

So this means you use "printscreen" on your Win7? It copies the image to your clipboard? Don't you have to take one image at a time using this method? :)

What do you mean "lower" your game? lol, sorry!

My OS is Windows XP. Hmmm...
I don't know if using Windows 7 changes things on this subject.

Yes, I use 'print screen' (on my keyboard) when taking a snapshot, then I lower my game (using alt-shift-tab) and paste it into PSP7 for editing & resizing.
And yes, doing it this way, I can only take one pic at a time.
It doesn't take long for my game to pull up & lower with this method and I don't have to use ScreenHunter or another program that captures images.

DO check out the tutorials I suggested in my previous thread in there, Sandy.
I think they might help you quite a bit.

I consulted Ulli about how to go about landscaping the tiny mini abodes lots (<--- her response post ... scroll up one post to see my original query).
I haven't finished yet but here is what I've done so far, per Ulli's helpful tips.
It was evening while snapping pics of Harley Griffin's new tiny house on wheels, so forgive the dark images.
FYI: Harley is Feliciana Pellegrino's new neighbor. He just happens to be single, too.


There is a chair in the form of a tree stump in Harley's wee corner garden where he sits and enjoys looking out over the field & gazing the stars.
