| Hi Sugah... The link you listed under "Upon further research" seems to work, I've downloaded the zipfile from simslice and will install before my next game load. The direct link you listed below that goes to a site that no longer exists. As you know, I tend to play my sims a season at a time. For some reason, burglars tend to come a bit more often at the end of a season, just when I'm ready to move on to the next family. I'll let you know if it works. Apparently, though, sims with a criminal career take exception to the sign. (Maybe a costume interaction, since several levels of the criminal career involve a burglar outfit) | |

| Hi, Mac! Just so I understand what you have shared, the link I provided for Sim Slice's "No Burglars" sign @ PMBD (in the Booty) did work. simslice-ts2-noburglarssign.zip was just the name of the file you needed to look for on Sim Slice's PMBD-Booty page, not a direct link. - Quote :
- Apparently, though, sims with a criminal career take exception to the sign.
If I am understanding the conversation at MTS2 on this subject, one of posters shared that his Dustin Broke had a friend who was in the criminal career. Dustin called up his criminal career friend and was able to have him over with no issues. So, the sign, supposedly, only keeps burglars away who are actually on the lot to burgle. Is that your you're getting from the post? and

| Subject: Clothing on SP Models available for download? Wed May 07, 2014 5:45 pm | |
| Hi I was wondering if the clothes that the models on the website (Sugah, Autumnelle, etc.) are available for download. If not, I was wondering where I could find them? | |

| Hi and welcome to Sugah's Place! Any Sim model that you download from Sugah's Place, whether in the Modeling Agency, Sim Beauties from Around the World or our Sim of the Month Club will come with everything that you see on the Sim, including their clothing. If you wish only to download the clothing on any of our models, rather than the Sim in it's entirety, simply download the model using the Sims2Pack Clean Installer (highly recommended for downloading our Sim models) and uncheck whatever you do not want in the package. We have a small section of fashions available in our La Petite Boutique, FYI. | |

| I think this is a good place to post this issue. I was setting up the stage to take snapshots of my latest recolor set and look what I discovered... The ivy I placed against the wall had this huge black backdrop behind it. Any thoughts, folks? I tried to adjust some of the graphic options but to no avail. The big black rectangle did not disappear behind the wall ivy. On the positive side, I haven't found an issue with any other wall deco YET! | |

| That happened to me when I was taking pics of my sims. I realized I neglected to turn off shadows (I always do, just don't like them) and when I did it disappeared. However, if you want to play with shadows on I am not sure how to prevent this. Sorry I could not be more help. | |

| It could be an issue with that specific object, I do know some object creators had problems with black squares if the object mesh(es) weren't made correctly. The main creator that comes to mind is buggybooz( I am sure there are others), But I thought they went through all their objects and fixed that.
You may also want to re-download the file just encase it got corrupted, It does happen occasionally.
The only other thing comes to mind is that your Groups.cache may have become corrupted, The next time You boot up the game try deleting Groups.cache(it will be re-created).

| Elle, I actually turned off the shadow option just to see if the black would disappear behind the ivy, but it didn't. Don't know why! I have shadows set on medium now, since there's a compatibility problem with Windows 7/Sims2/Shadows. Aaron, I believe the creator of the wall ivy may be from a Chinese site, but don't quote me. I can't remember where I found it (t'was years and years ago), but think trying to re-download it may be worth a try. - Aaron wrote:

Definitely nothing to lose with trying that option, too, Aaron. If neither of the above work, as a mesher, do you think you could fix the problem with the mesh for me? Just a thought...

| Possibly... But there is no guarantee that I can fix it. Since I am still learning about meshing. | |

| No worries, if not, Aaron. I don't have a clue where I found the mesh so many years ago. I re-checked and the name of the mesh does sounds like it's from a Chinese site. Perhaps a Google search will pull something up, if I plug in the mesh name... Sometimes that works. I tested a bunch of wall decor and so far, nothing else cast that huge rectangular shadow, btw. Will keep you posted and thanks for your input, Aaron & Elle! | |

| Okay, I have learned that the mesh is Yytao's climbing wall plant and that it is no longer available for download. I do not know what site Yytao used to create for to even check for the mesh at the Sims Graveyard. However, I found an edited version of it at BPS that can be moved up and down if one has Apartment Life installed. So, I've downloaded Eva's edited version of the climbing wall plant and am about to load up my game to test it. | |

| Subject: Problem with downloads Tue May 13, 2014 10:10 am | |
| Hello, I'm new over here and since you lot seem to be rather experienced simmers I thought maybe you could help me with my problem.
After checking out how much it would cost to buy all the SPs and EPs I almost fainted and decided to go the illegal way. Now I have a perfectly working Sims 2 with every EP and SP but a tricky little problem with the downloads.
The files for the game did not include any download folders, and even though I've tried creating them afterwards into the files the game won't install .zip and package CC files. Only CC that comes in sims2pack format actually appears in the game after extracting (I figure it's because there's the installation wizard) , and it's quite tiresome to look for premade sims and houses and try to figure which ones give me new custom hair and items and such.
My friend downloaded the game set from the same place as well except she used her real game CD to get the base game. She has the same problem as me, though.
So what I'm asking is does anyone have any ideas on how I (as well as my friend) could make the .zip and other "singular" files work on the game? My OS is Windows 7 and I use winRAR to extract files if that helps. Thanks in advance! :)

| Subject: Problem w/ Lucas Easy Bedding Texture Creator Tue May 13, 2014 7:08 pm | |
| I am having a problem running Lucas' Easy Bedding Texture Creator. The program is a wonderful, easy way to create bedding for Sims 2. However, upon trying to run it using my new computer (Windows 7 might be the problem?), I keep getting this message: Does anyone know if there is a way to fix the issue? I'd greatly appreciate any and all help. Thank you in advance! | |

| Use Sims2Pack Clean Installer to install CC, by right clicking, with the menu that opens up, hover your mouse over 'open with' and click 'Sims2Pack Clean Installer'. With package files, you just copy and paste directly into your Downloads folder. | |

| If memory serves me correctly that file came with Windows XP and older OSes, But is not present with Windows Vista and newer OSes. You might want to check this page out on the Microsoft help page. | |

| I actually found the page you recommended yesterday, Aaron! Great minds! Upon going to start > typing in CMD in search programs/files > right clicking on CMD, then Run as Administrator ... I got the message "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" (re:Windows Command Processor). Since I didn't know if it was safe and what else it might change if I chose YES, I didn't continue. | |

I think I wasn't clear enough but yeah I'm really bad at explaining. Anyway, the thing is that the game and all of its parts downloaded without a single Downloads folder, and even though I've tried creating them to the right locations it seems that the game doesn't recognize them and doesn't show the CC I've extracted into the folder(s). So I wonder is there any way I could make the game become aware of the folder or some alternative way of getting the package files (that don't come with the option to install as sims2pack files) show in the game?

| Try this: Delete the folder with downloads you created (before save the files, obviously). Load bodyshop without it. Quit bodyshop. The game will recover herself and create her own downloads folder. Then it should work without problems. This helped me many times, when my game somehow didn't recognize any of downloads.
Let us know if it helps :)

| I think the problem is that it is NOT a paid for version of Sims 2. Many people had different problems with illegally attained games. Today, with used versions of Sims 2 widely available for sale and very discounted prices both on the internet and locally, there is no reason to download a pirated version of TS2. Here, we have Half Price Books that sell Sims 2 EPs and SPs for as low as $5.00. I just checked Amazon and they have used versions for as low as $4.50. So, you see, you needn't be playing with an unauthorized, illegal copy of TS2. Sugah's Place has never condoned stolen versions of the game to be honest. | |

| Windows Command Processor is anther name for CMD.exe and comes with Windows, So it is safe. The command You type in the CMD window is basically telling Windows to detect the file comctl32.ocx. That's if the file exists, If not it errors out.
If it does end up erroring out go to the second page of that thread I posted earlier and look for the post by SAMarcus, It tells You how to find those files and install them.

| Yes, that's what I've figured as well but was wondering if there was a way to fix it anyway. And trust me, I spent hours on Amazon trying to strike up a good deal including all the parts, but found out none of the real bargain priced EPs and SPs could be shipped to this little cold corner of the world, and the normal priced ones cost simply too much, and of course adding the shipping fees to the subtotal raise the price even more. Being the broke student I am I rather spend the money on food and clothes, and therefore decided to get the pirate version. Perhaps one day I'll have a chance to buy the real copies, I'd prefer that of course, but for now I shall (and must if I want to play the game) cope with this one. :| | |

| I understand about being a struggling student. I did not realize there are certain places Amazon can not deliver to. This is news to me, but I do not order much online, to be honest.

| Okay, I went ahead and chose "YES", since both you and Elle said it is safe to make the changes. (Thank you for your help, btw.) I then got THIS message: I will check out the second page today regarding how to resolve the comdlg32.ocx issue. Stay tuned (and big thanks, Aaron)... | |

| Yes, this concerns mainly the private sellers - usually the people who are selling the games for the cheapest. Bigger retailers do however mostly ship to my country, but then the price skyrockets. I don't know about the American Amazon, but this was the case with the British one. (I don't even dare to look for them on the US one because the shipping fees will be even higher) If not everything was about money, sigh! | |
