I have a whole game set up just for this project, but I'll start with some you've already seen in my [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] because they're too fabulous not to share here. laughin

While I was setting up my Isle of Demeter hood, I took a break just to play.

I chose Toni's [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and Sugah's [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
I now call them Jack and Ella 1.0 because I liked them so much I put them in my main hood, as well (Jack and Ella 2.0).

Jack and Ella 1.0 had two children, the precious Paloma ...

... and the dapper Gavin.

Cher's Offspring Project Families Snapshot_6088fbdc_6103b2a5

I abandoned that hood once Isle of Demeter was set up, since that was the only family in the hood and the kids had no one to play with.
Jack and Ella 2.0 have started their family, though, so it will be fun to see how they compare to the 1.0 versions.
Their daughter Paloma (2.0) is still a baby and it will probably be some time before I get back to that family's rotation, especially since I've put that hood on hold in order to create one specifically for the Offspring Project.

Well, I'm never good at determining what babies will look like later on, or which parent they resemble -- in RL or in the game! But Paloma's (2.0) makes me think of Gavin more than her previous version. It will be interesting to see what happens. It's definitely an interesting gene pool here.

Awwww! Nick IS adorable!
I'm lovin' that cute little bear outfit he's sporting, too.
Both of his parents have green eyes, moderately fair skin and red hair & I'm thinking that's gonna be little Nicky's color chart (an Autumn, perhaps?) as well. girlwinkin
Cher, I had completely forgotten, but the outfit Alyssa is wearing, I created exclusively for her!  Cher's Offspring Project Families 21650

Sugah, I tried to choose a male and a female with blonde, black, brown, and red hair. I thought Alyssa was a redhead, but her hair is actually binned under brown hair. It's hard to tell because some of the hair meshers/creators put colors in different places that I think they should be. There are also quite a few who think red hair only comes in shades of pink! I could have re-binned Alyssa's hair as red, but I didn't want to mess with any of her genetics. I'm curious to see whether Nicky ends up with red or brown hair.

My next couple is Jen's [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. They both ended up being Family/Cancer Sims.

They started their family immediately (and I mean immediately -- see my [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for details. laughin Their first child is Nick. He definitely has Kelly's beautiful green eyes.

He morphed into a toddler with a hair that looks similar to one you recently had, Sugah. I don't think it's exactly the same, though.

I've seen that happen and I agree.

I'm the one on crack, Sugah. Patrick and Kelly's little guy is named Marshall, but I wrote Nick. Cher's Offspring Project Families 657259

Unless a specific name just pops into my head or I have a theme going, I open a baby name book to a random page and pick a name from it. I could have named that poor kid Marion; that was on the same page as Marshall. laughin

That's the hair binner I use. I even have Alyssa's hair in all colors as one of my custom downloads in the Isle of Demeter game. I just decided not to change Alyssa's because I wanted to use all the genetics just as they were originally designed, and since Jonah's a redhead, I still have red in the gene pool.

What a coinky dink!
I used to open my baby name book to a random page, close my eyes and point!
Unless the name was hideous (can you say, "Goopy"?  Cher's Offspring Project Families 97206 ), I'd usually go with it.
But in recent years, often times I can look at a Sim for awhile and their name & astrological sign just sorta come to me...
Even their aspiration & career path more often than not.
It sounds like you are the same way about naming your Sims sometimes.  Cher's Offspring Project Families 21650

I'm starting to play more like that. I've installed some things that provide more sensible autonomy for my Sims, and am more willing to sit back and see how they behave. Before, I was much more of a micromanager (that's the polite version of what Randy calls it!).

I think the hair binner is pretty easy, especially after you've used it once. The nice thing is that you undo any screw-ups. I used this tutorial and I highly recommend it. It's lengthy, but not difficult. The tutorial also discusses a way to create a gray version for hairs that don't come with it, but I haven't tried it yet. I suspect it assumes I know something about recoloring that I definitely don't know.

I go back and forth between playing the Almighty Omniscient Omnipotent Omnipresent SimGod  Cher's Offspring Project Families 598258
and giving my Sims a little freedom & power of their own. laughin

I might look into that hair binning program & tutorial.
I certainly wouldn't mind having my Sim hair more organized, so the binning makes sense.
I've been meaning to re-categorize some of my Sim's fashions, too.
I don't know why some creators think athletic wear can double as undies...
and Swimsuits, more often than not, are a poor choice for formal occasions. Cher's Offspring Project Families 774807

You have really chosen great couples!

In the first picture Jack is so happy with his newborn daughter, that is really cute :)

Paloma (1) is a stunning teen. I'm so curious to see how Paloma (2) will turn out.

Your picture with Jack and Gavin is precious;also the picture of Kelly with her baby is adorable.

Nice couples! Paloma is especially stunning as a teen. I love her hairstyle. Marshall's a cutie too. I look forward to seeing what he looks like as he gets older. I think he has a lot of potential.

You really have to wonder what some creators were thinking when they binned their hair. Cher's Offspring Project Families 774807 I used a program one time to re-bin some of the wonky ones in my game. But in some cases I kind of like the variation, especially if I have, say, a lot of brown-haired sims. It's kind of nice to get one that's a little more on the blonde side or a little more reddish to mix things up. But some of the choices are pretty out there.

I think there is another program to re-bin, Sugah. I'm thinking maybe it was the wardrobe wrangler, but I can't remember now which one I used. Cher's Offspring Project Families 62525

I looked up a random name generator online when I was stuck on some of my sim kid's names, but mostly I try to have a couple of ideas in mind before the baby is born.

I think quite a few of our members, whether here or at PTS were using Jfade's Wardrobe Wrangler, Em. I don't think I ever gave it an honest try, but I know some did.
I don't recall how user friendly it is and I am a bit daft & slow about learning new programs. Cher's Offspring Project Families 85797

If a Sim's name doesn't come to me upon looking at the Sim and thinking about him/her awhile...
I use one of my Baby Name books or the 20000-Names website, which I love.
If I look at a Sim and can sense his/her personality and a certain name MEANING is important or if they are an ethnic Sim,
the 20000-Names site is especially great to help find the perfect name (eg Noble, Joyful, Lucky, Evil, Elfin, etc., etc). Cher's Offspring Project Families 940149

I have the Wardrobe Wrangler, but I was afraid to use it. laughin

I was wrong about the hair binner.  Cher's Offspring Project Families 100574  I originally used Theo's Hair Binner, which is the one I was thinking about when I told you it was easy to use, especially after the first time. It's a SimPE plug-in and it worked very well, but I couldn't figure out how to (or if you can) bin facial hair with it. THAT's when I downloaded the one you linked by CatOfEvilGenius. That one is even easier than Theo's and doesn't require SimPE.

Meet the Prices!
Elle's [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is Family/Scorpio, while Toni's [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is Family/Pisces.

Cher's Offspring Project Families Avett

Cher's Offspring Project Families Malika

They started their family within minutes, and soon baby Elijah was born.
I couldn't seem to get a good close-up view of him. I'll try again when the Price family comes back up in the rotation.
I think he looks a lot like Malika so far.

Oooooh! Another family procreating in Cher's (Sugah's) Pleasantview! Yaaaay! dancintrio

You know, I really like Elle's Avett, too, but when I look at him, I see a fella whose preference is other fellas.
This happens to me sometimes when I look at Sims. You?
Avett is a pretty boy who appears rather feminine to my eyes, so in Tres Lagos, he will probably not favor the female persuasion.

But I think you have found an intriguing love match in Toni's Malika for him.
She has a strong, no-nonsense look about her. Don't you think?
Like she is the one who woud go out, kick butt and be the family bread winner...
And sensitive Avett, with his gentle, big baby blues would be perfectly happy staying home as a devoted & loving Mr Mom.

ELIJAH! I love that name!!! I love you

When I first looked at Avett, I saw a definite Metrosexual. laughin I fixated on the idea that he's an ambitious politician and that means he needs a family. Since he has 3 bolts with Malika, he is attracted to her. I don't think that rules out any future attractions to other people, possibly other men. Once they have that "perfect" family, she can go back to focusing solely on her career and he can focus on ... whatever he wants to focus on. Cher's Offspring Project Families 97206

I find myself drawn to Malika's face, especially her eyes (although that hair is awesome, too). I think you nailed Malika's personality exactly. I think she's also a woman who wants it all. She is more devoted to her career, though, and is happy to have Nanny Lettie to take care of the family details. She and Avett seem to me to be what we always called a "Power Couple." I thought a large part of their marriage would be a matter of convenience and expectations for their respective careers, but it has developed into a loving one as well.
