I thought it would be fun to use a lot of Sugah's Place CC for my décor, and it is. I get a kick out of seeing it in my game. After all, it is Sugah's Pleasantview. I haven't worried about whether or not Alyssa's décor is too girly for Jonah because, until recently, he wasn't doing much to contribute to the family's bank account. I don't know whether he's as a secure a man as Mr. Benoit, but he hasn't complained about it yet. He just wants more stuff. Em, I read the articles in the link last night. If I understand it right: Everything we're using is custom content, therefore it's equally dominant (except for binned hair). The first generation has no recessives, so there's a 50/50 chance of skin and eye color coming from either parent. The hair (so far) is binned, so it will follow the general rule of black and brown being dominant over blonde and red. All of Jonah and Alyssa's children will have brown hair, but may have a recessive gene for red (which means I need to get some more redheads in my game!). If the hair is not binned and is in the Custom section, it will be dominant (that one specific hair will be what's inherited). The game randomly (?) assigns dominant facial features to the first generation sims, and the combination of genes inherited will determine which features are dominant and recessive with the offspring.

Sounds fair to me that since it's her money, she gets to decide. He doesn't strike me as one who would have strong opinions on the matter one way or another, as long as his needs are met and he's not paying the bill. Sounds like you have the genetics right to me. Except that all of Alyssa and Jonah's kids will carry the recessive gene for red hair, so if they marry someone with red or blonde hair (or who has a recessive gene for red or blonde) there's a chance that they might have red haired children.

I think you meant Mr Benedetto (Hall of Famer; Excellent husband & father of 3 teen daughters, 1 alien son with no fear of pink. ) And that's highly doubtful, Cher. They broke the mold with Anthony, let me tell ya. I like the way you explained what you read in those Sims DNA articles, btw.

And that's highly doubtful, Cher. They broke the mold with Anthony, let me tell ya. Want to hear something funny? Sunday night, Randy got called out to a dumpster fire at 1, and then to a garage fire at 3:30. (How that happens with all the rain coming down, I don't know.) At 3:30 in the morning, I suddenly wondered if I had the right Mr. B. - Em wrote:

Yeah, that sounds like Jonah, all right. - Quote :

I downloaded some additional Sims yesterday, most with red or blonde hair, to ensure I will eventually see some offspring with those colors.

| We don't live in a flood zone, Cher, but there are many folks all over the state who have been seriously hammered or washed away by extreme flooding. The death toll continues to rise and there doesn't seem to be an end to the rain. Thank you for your concern, dear lady. - Quote :

Too funny! Why is it that this sort of thing comes to mind in the wee hours of the morning sometimes? - Quote :

It dawned on me yesterday that except for one blonde male and one red-headed female, all the rest of my SP Offspring couples are dark-haired. I definitely need to consider more fair-haired Sims when next I download more participants for the project, too, Cher.

| Thank you, Emily. I didn't know you had a great aunt in Texas. Is she in the D-FW area? I hope she is safe. So many areas here are in a state of disaster. - Em wrote:
- Add me to that list too. I have way too many black haired, light skinned sims in my group.
All of my offspring except one have black hair ... Maybe I should have chosen more deliberately. Check! Duly noted, m'lady! In my case, I never even thought about the hair/skin/eye colors being passed on. I had a few couples in Tres Lagos already in love before the project, that were a perfect fit for it. And several I downloaded (your Will, my Anaïs & Elle's Kimberly) were among my all time faves, which is why I chose them. I found another of yours yesterday that I absolutely love (and had forgotten about, as you gifted her to us back during our 3rd SP anniversary), but she's a dark-haired Sim, too! I don't care, btw. She's still movin' into the 'hood and going to share her gorgeous genetics with some verrrrry lucky fella.

| Thank you for your comments. I hope to have some new pictures in the next day or two.
I actually did try to pay attention to hair colors when I downloaded the first set of Sims, but I was also trying to pay attention to eye color and creators. I messed it up a bit with my pairings, which I realized will make it hard to get redheads at all (with only one redhead in the first generation), and also not easy to get blondes . My next batch will help mix things up, but I didn't get as many creators involved that time. There are several Sims I really want in my game, but I want to wait because they all have dark hair! I'm also trying to pick Sims that I'm not seeing much of in the other threads.

Strategically thinking ahead, Cher! This is precisely why old Sugah is not good at chess. I, too, wanted a mix of different creators' Sims, which is why I am hoping to find a couple of blonds & redheads by Jen or Ari next. (I've already used three of Toni's, one of Elle's, one of Ulli's, one of Em's and two of mine.) I'd forgotten that my [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is already in the hood and romantically involved with [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. So that relationship makes the most sense to continue with next. And Suvi's a Simfinland blond! - Cher wrote:

Me, three! I rather like Em's Raymie & Aphrodite, but they've been chosen for the project already. It's alright though. There are plenty of fabulous Sims to choose from by those creators eligible for this experiment in genetics.

| Gah! I had most of my post ready to go when I messed up and lost it all. Kelly and Patrick Lorrin gave young Marshall an eyeful one day after school ... ... which hopefully will result in a sibling for Marshall and Forest, who grew into a sweet toddler. He's a Pisces, 4-4-7-2-8. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Coming Soon to a hood near you: Toni's [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], Jen's [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], and Toni's [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. A couple of apartments above them are Ari's [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I was on a mission to get more redheads and blondes, and still ended up with a brunette because I couldn't resist her (Ember). Then I ended up with another one -- Sugah's [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], who lives with Toni's [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I've tried multiple times, but I cant' seem to get the link to Tawny posted without including some nonsense like the [/url] that's in front of it. I'm didn't do the best job of diversifying creators with this batch. I'm not sure why. I'll post their pictures when I update with their activities. | |

| Aw he's a darling! They make cute kiddos. Thank you so much for choosing three of my sims for your project (and your sweet comment about Ember). I wouldn't be offended if you wanted to change her hair to red, though. Here is SnowWhite's edit of this hair - it comes in four colors - and you've already got the mesh. | |

GRRRR!!! I hate when that happens! I love how Marshall has his hands on his hips as if to say, "Come on, you two! You've got to be kidding me! Half naked out HERE??? I'm just a kid!!!" Look at Forest's gorgeous green eyes! So sweet! - Quote :

I am, too, Cher, but like you, I keep falling in love with Sims that are dark-haired. I've got to stay focused! I look forward to seeing the nice variety of Sims you've chosen by our different creators start populating (Sugah's) Pleasantview.

Too late! She's gorgeous just the way she is, anyway. It'll just be a reason for me to download some more Sims later. - Sugah wrote:

:toofunny:When you learn how to stay focused, will you teach me? Sandy, Marshall definitely resembles his dad more at this point. He has Patrick's hair, skintone, nose, and eyebrows. His eyes are green like Kelly's. Forest also has Kelly's eyes, and Patrick's skintone and hair. I'm not sure about his facial features, though. Both Marshall and Forest have aged up with longish, somewhat shaggy hair.

| Just some quick pictures of the youngest residents of Sugah's Pleasantview. For details, see my [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] thread. I still have one more update to make on that thread before I'm caught up. I did use some of the photos from the original posts of the Sims. I don't remember anyone having an objection to that. If I'm wrong, please let me know and I'll remove the picture. Ember and Colin's son, Chris. I don't know why it looks like he has a bandaid on his chin. He has Ember's skintone and hair, and I think Colin's eyes. Glenna is Ilyse and Fin's daughter. Griffin is Glenna's twin brother. Glenna has Fin's eyes, and Griffin has Ilyse's eyes. It's hard to tell because of the lighting, but I think they may both have Ilyse's skin. I don't know why Ilyse is making that face while holding Griffin. I don't think he smells bad or anything.

Cher, I don't know if I ever let those participating in this project know the outcome of my email (asking the creators of SP if it is okay for the original images of their Sim models to be used), but I believe I've heard back from most everyone & it's perfectly alright. I may have received the responses right before our vacay and didn't get a chance to let you all know. I didn't get a reply from Jen (AdriannaSimmie), so I don't want to give the thumbs up on using her Sim models image URLs at this time. I believe those are teeth on handsome Chris' chin! One of those creepy strange occurrences that happen in game sometimes. I can't remember WHY that happens on rare occasions, though... Look at Glenna's eyes! WOW! I was wondering why Ilise is making that annoyed, irritated face, too!?!
