Aside to self: Bite your tongue Toni! Bite your tongue!!!!! *wipes tear* Anyhoo - SUCCESS! Terry Typhoid successfully got well by resting while sick. I didn't give him the cure this time. When he got sick, I had him stay home from work and lump around as much as possible. I had him play chess, sit on the couch, sit around and write in his diary, relax in bed. Everytime he was tired enough to sleep, I sent him to sleep. So this is recoverable from. Tess died. Her lover, Tyler, didn't even care. I changed Tonya's aspiration to fortune and spent some of the family's money on a blind date. With so many working adults and all the promotions rolling in, they have plenty to spare - and I don't have the crystal ball in this game. She's been seeing Leonid (2 bolts) for awhile, and I thought it was cute that they autonomously cuddled outside in the snow. But now, since I changed her aspiration, she has 2 bolts with Tyler, so she hopped in bed with him a day or so later. I thought I was going to retch. Tabitha, her sister Tonya, and hubby Tony celebrate the birth of Tina. Tonya was infected at one point, and I tried making her rest as with Terry. But she's an active sim, and she kept getting up and doing other stuff. So this mod will be interesting. I'm thinking the lazy sims will have the best chance of recovery for those who don't have a cure. This will certainly spice things up in the royal kingdom, especially when I run the asylum, since I'm only allowed to control one of them at a time. I should go through and roll up random secondary aspirations for them all. This way, I won't be tempted to cheat if someone gets sick by giving them a secondary aspiration of family (so they can make the soup). Some sims will get lucky. Others...muahaha!

| Great research there Ari! Well done! Poor Tess...did she not rest? Tabitha and Tonya are very pretty. I'm kind of getting used to the default look. (ok...except the eyes. They still scare me. ) As to Tonya and Tyler... I'm lovin' the Typhoid Family Follies. | |

(well not all are so ) poor Tess ... have you loosed all your downloads? or why the original look? (to lacy to check ) the eyes scare me too , evry thing original scares me .... nice to see you having fun Ari!

| Great update Astral Faery, That sickness hack sure is interesting m ysims wouldn't stand a chance they always seem to be active. You've got to love the look on tyler's face when Tess dies, all sims just appear to be who cares, they may cry abit at some point. To let you knoe hun I have started reading through your thread, I love your asylum "family" the only complaint I have so far is you have moved on to another story and not finished them! Not that I can complain to much as I never finish challenges | |

| Wow...where do I start? You got some amazing stuff here. No way I can catch up quick, but some of the stuff I saw as I skimmed through your game rocks! I especially loved the Medieval stuff you have for Sims2 Toni was right! Kudos to her for directing me this way.
I agree with you that sims medieval is not what we know as Sims nor is it really an RPG other then you RP Gawd in the game I guess. The biggest drawback to it for me was moving in and out of the castle and then moving about the 'hood' so to speak. I plan to give it another try when I can get a video card for this machine. One note to anyone thinking about the game, if you do *not* have a video card listed, do not get it. The game is not like other games in that as long as your card meets the game requirements you can play it, it probably won't work and it's a pain to resolve the issue with EA over it. There's more but I don't want to rant here, over EA so. lol
Again Faery, wonderful looking neighborhood and I love so much of your content, I think I need to mug you! lol

| Thank you clc. Yes, sadly, I suffer from short attention span when it comes to my sims overall. The asylum family though, I truly loved them, but I had a big viral crash and had forgotten to make backups of that game - it's on my second account and the virus was so fast acting, destroying Windows from the inside out, that we had only minutes to decide what to save. My primary game was saved, and some other important stuff, but I had overlooked my second game on my other account. You'd think I'd know better, having played sims for years, to make regular backups - but I had lost many, many sim days and so much progress, that I would basically have had to start the family almost from the beginning. I just couldn't do it - it was too devastating. I am trying to make sure I always have frequent backups of my medieval game, though, which is primarily where I play. Grykon - thank you! Mug away, lol. There is some really cool stuff out there. Toni has also helped me find many nice things. I totally agree with you about TSM. Being stuck between a sims game and an RPG probably wasn't a good place to be. Gamespot has given it a score of 6.0 - fair - and an absolutely spot on excellent review. I could quote the entire article, as it mirrors my thoughts about the game so aptly, but anyone thinking of checking this game out should definitely read this first. To sum up - Initially fun, but feels like a 15 hour game stretched to infinity, coated with some candy sprinkles to make it prettier. Not worth the price I paid, unfortunately. So many other things I could have done with that money. I doubt I'll be getting any expansions for it. And yes the graphics. Very demanding. There are so many video related crashes for this game. I was very happy I could run it, but all the pretty in the world doesn't make up for a stale game. The graphics are like putting candy sprinkles on a stale cookie | |

| Of course not, Jackie. I've kind of been wanting to try a different default skin in my game for awhile now, but it seemed like every set I tried didn't have a dark enough tone for s4. I like my dark skinned sims to stay dark because they just don't look right when they're too light. I played around with skintones a little bit today and wanted to share. I used these gorgeous tones to see if I would like them. I could use your opinions. Here is Darren Dreamer with the Louis default I'm currently using. And here he is with the new one. Toni - would you happen to have a link to the other two tones - s1 and s2? I might be willing to try them out and see if I like them, as well. For now I'm going to pop the new s3 and s4 in my game and see what I think. Edited to add: But WAIT!! Do you know if there are any defaults of these I just love Anva skins - and the dark is soo pretty. I have to go see if I can find defaults for these. Edited again to add: OOoh - maybe I'll give these a try. Edited again to add: Gave them a try - but I won't be using them. They're pretty, but not for me. I would love to find Anva as defaults - so if anyone knows if these exist - please let me know. I do like the callalou one as pictured on Darren for a dark tone. Edited AGAIN to add this: Check out the difference: Anastasia with current Louis default. Anastasia with Anva Dark - Oh...my...She is a knockout! And to think I was terrified of changing defaults because I didn't want her looks to change. I LOVE the way she looks with this one. Off to see if I can find Anva defaults! | |

| Here're some Anva skins made into defaults. Why not mix and match your defaults? I've found that most sets, have one tone that's too extreme, either a too pale light, or not dark enough dark, or too dark medium...lol! It's quite a challenge!
By the way, I prefer the Louis dark in your previews. The new one looks too red in my opinion.
That link to the CoD darker skins also has defaults. Are those the ones you're trying?
By the way, at GOS they have a wishing tree, you could post a request for someone to make you a mix and match set, if you include the links to the skins you want turned into defaults. In fact, you should scope out their Granted Wishes section....you many find something you like.

| Aww - thank you so much for your input and help, Toni. Hee hee hee - I found the same ones you posted.I added the default 'add-on' and made my beautiful Anva skins (some of my all time fave, by the way) into defaults. They are here if anyone else is interested in taking a look. Here's Darren with the Anva defaults: Hubba hubba! I love this shade of warm brown - similar to the Louis I've used for so many years. But I also love the differences in the skintone itself over Louis. I've already got these installed and this is how he will look from now on. Anastasia will now look like the second preview pic. YAY! So happy! | |

| They look great, Ari. I know what a challenge it can be to pick default replacements. It's so hard to find ones that look right on everyone without the guys looking too made-up or the faces to shiney or too dull. It looks like you picked some good ones. I'm glad you found some that you're happy with.

Same here. I'd appreciate the links too if you have some to share. I've always liked Anva's skins too. I have some in my game, but not as defaults because of the make-up. There have been a few skins I really liked and was tempted to go in and try to edit myself so the men in particular didn't look like they were wearing so much makeup.

| If I had to pick one thing I didn't like about this skin, it would be that a lot of the men look a little too makeupy. Not all of them - some of them look pretty darn hot. The women pretty much all look fabulous. This skin looks good with the dragonmandy eyes I have as defaults, too. I played around in my medieval game for a little bit today. Not my royal kingdom, though. I realized that I've never actually played my sim self other than the sibling challenges we've done. So I decided to redo her so she was using my game genetics and her skintone looked more like my own. She still has pointed ears though I snapped a couple of pics. And here is a townie that actually looks like this, without my intervention. Scary stuff! The guy in the back is hot, though, and now simAri's husband. They live in a cute little medieval home together and she's eager to start a family. | |

| Thank you, Toni. Ya know, Ari married him and I already forgot his name. It's some medieval name the game conjured up. And I made a batch of townies - so he's game generated, as well. The scary dude was game generated as well, but uses Maxis face templates - which equals trollish. He looks like he's already wearing makeup, so wtf? He'll be undergoing massive facial reconstruction. | |
