| I keep reading you could do it in body shop, and it only adds categories, never takes them away. | |

| You could do it in BodyShop, but it's a lot of work.
This program makes it easier.
I've used it several times. |

| Ulli, I just finished posting set 2 of Ramshackled walls, per your request. I sure hope you find some colors you like. If not, I would happy to do another. You can find Ramshackled 2 here. Thank you for your request. I am hereby closing this thread and marking it "filled". | |

| Elle, I found this tutorial. Don't know if you have SimPE, but you'll need it to recategorize clothes in Body Shop...And it looks a tad complicated, like Ed advised.
Is that the sort of thing you're looking for?
Ed, thank you so much for the heads up on that wardrobe wrangler. Way cool tool!

| Thanks, Sugah! I do have SimPE installed, but have never used it. I will try both suggestions today, I hope, and will post how each one works. | |

| Yes, DO let me know how it goes, either way, Elle Baby. (Sorry, couldn't resist! ) I am always anxious to learn more about this game we love and share that knowledge with others. (Hence the reason I changed the title of your initial post in here. If others are curious about how to remedy the problem, they will know to look here. ;) ) I can understand your desire to recategorize clothing, btw. I hate it when casual and workout wear is in formal wear, for example. Some creators click every category button when working on a new outfit, so pjs end up in outerwear, for criminy sake! Perhaps some people like the option to have their Sims in blue jeans, ball cap and t shirt at a formal affair (I have a bubba bro-in-law who never wears ANYTHING else ), but it's just plain annoying for me to have clothing categorized incorrectly. Of course, I have confessed previously that I am annoyed easily, so that could be a big part of it.

| You always make me smile, dear. I believe I read this on the link Ed provided, but there was a comment about how the guy liked to have his sims swim in evening gowns. I for one, like my simmies to have a more structured existence. If miscategorized outfits constitute easily annoyed, then I guess you and I should form a little club for us and people like us. | |

Ummm...errrr...okay... What the hell do you say to something like that? That's borderline weird, dahling. :cuckoo: - Quote :

Halleluia! A kindred spirit! I'm in! Let me know what you think of recategorizing your clothing in SimPE, Elle, and whether the effort is too tedious &/or challenging to be worth the trouble or not.

| I am going through my extensive downloads folder and recategorizing it as I have shared with you guys in the first post. Well, I used both methods, the Wardrobe Wrangler suggested by Ed and the SimPE method recommended by Sugah. I have to say that neither method was overly complicated, and the tutorials and instructions for each one were very clear, concise and easy to follow. I think that it comes down to what your purposes are. The SimPE method seems to be geared toward creators and recolorists who want to do more than change where outfits appear in their downloads folder. There are quite a few options using this method that you come across that may come in handy if you have more than one task in hand, but can be annoying and overwhelming if you only have a specifc goal in mind or are in a hurry. So, my final verdict, use this if you are already familiar and have SimPE, or you want to get into the creation part of the game. It is easy, but it is more time consuming. The Wardrobe Wrangler is also simple and easy to use. You are in and out in a jiffy; however, there are limits to what you can do and change. It is not for creators unless you just want to modify a finished product, and if you are a creator you probably already have SimPE which serves the same purpose. You can also use this to bin hair if you wish, which can come in really handy. This is the program to use if you are a player of the game and do not plan on getting into the creation angle. | |

| This is all such excellent information, Elle. Thank you so much for sharing what you've learned with us. Just to reiterate, if I am only wanting to put the formal clothing in the formal category and remove it from swimwear and/or everyday, The Wardrobe Wrangler will do just fine for simple recategorization? I also love the idea that we can bin hair properly with it (another annoyance of mine ... are we still in the same club, dahling? ). | |

| Yes, you can move clothes to different categories and remove them from others. I used to hate when I would open my game after downloading a new hairstyle and find Maxis styles taking up space in the age groups it didn't have a mesh for. With wardrobe wrangler, you can enable and disable age groups as you see fit. Yes, we are definitely in the same club, we have to set up a meeting schedule . | |

| I've been using Wardrobe Wrangler recently to try to organize my downloads. I love that you can color bin hair. I've been trying to get all of my custom hairs properly binned, but it takes awhile. I didn't know you could customize the age groups. I need to figure out how to do that. I don't mind sometimes if they don't have the same mesh for kids and toddlers, but it does really annoy me when they don't bother to make the hair color match for all age groups (like a hair style that is blond for adults is black for children) or when males have female style hair as children. I'll have to go in and fix those things now if I can.
I've also been using Wardrobe Wrangler to edit skintones. There's an option where you can "townify" them so townies can be generated with custom skintones and another option to "geneticize" them which will give them genetic values similar to the default skins. I've found that when you set their genetic value between two default values (like say between light and tan) if two parents with default skintones have a baby the baby can inherit the custom skintone. I'm not sure if I like that feature or not yet. I think I would really like it if I had a set of skintones with lots of different shades.
It's a neat tool. | |

| Subject: I'd Like To Request Another Wall/Floor ... Please! Sat Sep 19, 2009 1:37 am | |
| Hello, my favorite creator of walls and floors!
I'd like to place another request for a wall if possible.
The wall covering I'm requesting is, the same red tile one you did but in a blue color. The shade of blue would be a sky blue color.
I also have a question too. The floor you made for me that I'm using with the house I built. Would that go with the sky blue wall? If not, could you suggest one please.
Thank you! |

| Another thing to note about the Wardrobe Wrangler is that you can add/change the tooltip that shows up when your mouse hovers over an outft or hairstyle. That can come in handy when trying to remember who to give credit to. | |

| Have you downloaded a house or lot with a sim in it. Cause some times game hacks like that one your talking about travel to your game by downloading a lot or house with a sim in it. Cause it could be the insimenator, or memory adjuster hack. | |

| I think it sounds like a hack that was accidently downloaded into your game, like Andrew has said, Cajsa.
You can use the Sims2Pk Clean Installer to check for hacks. If you don't already have it, you can find it here. I believe hacks show up in red.
