| Hmmm...I know that many tutorials for this sort of thing use Photoshop. But do you NEED it to create self Sims? I suppose any good paint program would do. I know some Sim creators who use Gimp and really like it. Hunter is one of them, I'm quite sure.
The problem I have with most Sims tutorials that require paint programs is I use Paint Shop Pro 7. There aren't too many tutorials that are made to follow along with PSP7. So, I have a hard time (because I'm still trying to figure Paint Shop Pro out) figuring out how to follow the tutorials using a completely different program.
Have you found any using Gimp?

| Hi! I am working on a fashion show storyline in one of my sim stories, and I want to have a little fun with it. While most of the fashion show will be serious, I want it to end with a little humor, and I was wondering if anyone could do a recolor of Carol Burnett's famous "Gone With The Wind" parody costume, as shown here: And to help refresh your memory: Part One: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aRMZ4ePmMM Part Two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjhtxfSMIWk&NR=1 Thanks so much! | |

| I don't know what kind of mesh we could use to accomplish that recolor, Michael. I don't do clothing much for our Sims. We can run it by Hunter.
Can you see about locating a mesh that might work, perhaps?

Can you see about locating a mesh that might work, perhaps? Well, I knew that it was a tall order when I posted, but hey, if we don't ask, we don't recieve, right? Anyway, I figure that it wlll need at least four meshes: 1) The rose colored hoop skirt underneath 2) The upper half of the drapery, both off the body and the part that falls on the body 3) The lower half of the drapery, including the back half that falls behind Carol, in the fashion of a wedding dress train. 4) The head dressing And Hunter, if you're reading this, a thousand blessings to you, should you decide to take on the challenge!

| It's definitely a tall order. I don't think finding a hooped gown with a train is going to be a problem. We could always do a google search or search the downloads over at MTS2. The biggest challenge is finding a mesh that appears like curtain rods on one's shoulders! PS The Carol Burnett Show was always one of my absolute faves growing up. | |

| Like I said, this kind of project is out of my league, so I won't be able to help you with it. However, once you find some meshes you think will work, you can post the urls to them here. We'll see if anyone can help by working with what you've found! | |

| Hello, everyone! Thank you for take the time to reading my request, even if you're not going to do it. Even that is very nice. I wish to know if anyone can make me Strify from Cinema Bizarre. I would really appreciate it. They should all be adults and I have the following games: Sims 2, Pets, Seasons, Nightlife, Apartment Life, and Celebration Stuff Pack. I apologize if they're not good pictures. But, I'll try to find side, 1/3 and front view as best I can! I'll always be happy to provide you with more pictures, too. So, just ask me! I apologize if there are too many pictures, too. I'm trying to help you. It's hard to find good pictures like this of celebrates. I actually posted this on the evils that is Insimenator. But, people there are just so rude and hateful. Anyway, you might be able to use the tutorial that was posted here! I have zero patients for that. Sadly. I get mad and want to stab things and...yeah. Haha.
Anyway! If you can do this, all it'll take is finding hair that matches and doing a slight recolor and cut if it needs it. I so hope someone can do this! And, as for clothes... Strify looks good in anything as long as you make him glamorous and bizarre.
Again, thank you very much for reading this and thank you very much if you do this!

| Oh - I'd LOVE to try this one! I can't promise results, but I do make a lot of Simmies (you can see here or at my site). I make girl Simmies.....which you don't like - but I will try Strify Sim because I LOVE his look. Give me a few days? | |

Well that just pisses me off. I'm sorry about that James. I'll never understand rudeness. EVER. This pic is actually perfect and I'll work from it. Now please be tolerant with me - as I've never actually done this before. I've never made a Sim with a specific human in mind. So give me a few days and we'll work from there and do whatever tweaking needs to be done.

| You have no idea how happy that makes me! >_< I love Strify a lot. I can't wait to see him!
Yeah, I know. People aren't very nice on there. The mod was so rude. She could've kindly asked me to remove my banner because it was too big. But she just rudely messaged me about it!
I love the mods here and everyone else. They're all very kind. I'm not saying everyone on insim or GoS are rude. But there are a few people that need to take some mannerism classes!

| Don't get excited - as I've got A LOT of tweaking to do. I'm also shopping for more appropriate hair & clothing - and I know I have a lot to do on the face - but this is what I have so far. Please be kind......I'm STILL working. I'm pretty happy with the mouth - but I know the eyes aren't right. Maybe close'ish - but I'm still working on combos of shadows and liners. I'm also studying more pictures of Strify that I've found - because he tends to look a little different pose to pose. Be patient and be kind, please. I NEVER have tried making a Sim from a picture before and I have to say, it's quite daunting. | |

| He's getting there! I know it's not easy. If you need help finding the hair, I can poke around some. Not sure if I'll find anything with the blond. It might need a recolor. If so, I'll try to request it or something. But, I'll keep looking for you and if I come across anything I will share it. I'm not quite sure. Do you do hair recolor? If so, I can try to find hair like that and you can just recolor the front of it. | |

| Do I do hair recolor? THAT would be interesting. I may request a hair from one of the mad geniuses at GOS (Garden of Shadows). I will keep working on him James - I hope you'll be patient with me. I have to take a break from him for now though because I've been working on him for the last two hours and I have a headache. I WILL get him though. I start a Sim and it becomes like a vengeance till I get WHAT I WANT. I hope in the end you'll get the Strify you want. | |

| I have faith in you, Hunter! And that's probably a good idea at requesting. I can be very patient. Just...not patient enough to make a Sim! I was trying my hand at Luminor from Cinema Bizarre and...well, I got mad and that didn't end well. | |

| Hey! He's showing some major potential, Hunter! His facial features and structure are really close. Strify is definitely coming together. I really like what you've done so far. His eyes, makeup, mouth and the skintone all really look good. Finding just the right hair might pose as a challenge. Perhaps with James helping with the treasure hunt, one of you will find just the right hair for Strify. PS THIS style might work. | |

| Thank you James & Sugah. I needed a vote of confidence because I'm in territory where I'm quite unsure of myself. I actually posted a request at GOS for the hair and am confident that soon someone will respond. I hope they do. I want to make Strify as well as I can. | |

I saw the request. I'm hoping someone does it! It doesn't seem terribly hard, but I'm not sure about those kinds of things!

| I haven't at all forgot about this. I'm still checking regularly at Garden of Shadows. I don't know what the average response time is there - but I am confident someone will do it. I see that over a hundred people have looked at the request, and I really do think someone will come through. I think having the hair will be very helpful in me completing Strify. I'm really not satisfied with his eyes - or his nose from the front. From the side his nose looks good and I think his mouth is pretty spot on. I think the hair will help me get the eyes and the rest right. I haven't given up - I just know this will take longer than the few days I thought it would. | |

| Take all the time you need, Hunter! I've been kind of busy lately, so I haven't been able to check the requests for the hair on other sites. Chicago has been more then kind to me! I went shopping and have been doing so many great things. It's really fun. Anyway, I'll look around today to see if anyone responded to mine! | |

| He's looking pretty good, Hunter. I wonder though, if his nose should be a click or two higher. Good luck with your hair recolor request. It shouldn't be too hard, so hopefully someone will be willing and able to do it. I'd offer to try, since I've done some really simple hair recoloring, but I don't have my usual graphics program installed on my new laptop yet and I don't know how to use Gimp very well yet. Good luck. He's looking great so far! | |
