Rebecah at Affinity Sims has a lot of mods that is really a BIG help with raising toddlers. Here is a good example: Table N Chair Toddlers learn Cooking - Rebecah wrote:

| Elle's Caroline Cole has to be one of the prettiest simfemmes posted - ever! If the knit dress hadn't been invented, it would have had to be invented just for her! She's at the top of the model career (doh) and is Fortune/Virgo Model/Dance. She married Toni's Damien, who's Popularity/Gemini and ShowBusiness(10)/Dance. They had a little girl, Kitty. This is one of my favorite pics of a mom and baby. Awwww! Here are mom and dad and toddler Kitty. She got dad's hair. It's difficult to know whose eyes she got since both mom and dad have blue eyes. Here's kitty as a child. I gave her a new hairstyle, since many children - including her - get a very blah hairstyle. Nothing else is changed, though. Dad's hair and his dark eyebrows. I kept her as a child only long enough to improve her Grumpy-Nice score - started at 1,moved it up to 3. Kitty is very accomplished and is heading toward a science career. She'll be becoming a YA and going to college as soon as her grades improve. To Elle and Toni, proud creators of proud parents - | |

It's been so long since I've created anything and my stuff was never widely known, so it's very surprising for me. I know Ari used a few of my outfits on some of the sims she shared. It looks good in your game, Mac. My old computer had pretty poor graphics, so I wasn't sure how my stuff looked in other's games. It looks better than I thought. Caroline is lovely and Damien is very cute. I don't think I noticed them before when I was browsing for sims. They make a nice couple. I really like Kitty's look too. She's a very pretty girl (and accomplished and scientific too!). I hate when most of my sims get the same blah hairstyles and I have to go in and change them. It's a nice surprise when one grows into something other than the same old, same old.

And changing those hideous Maxi's rope-like eyebrows is always a definite must! - Em wrote:

Em, if you ever feel like/have time for creating on a regular basis, especially fashions for our Sims, I could always use help in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Photoskinning is definitely NOT my strong suit!

| What a lovely family! I like the look on Kitty's face in that last picture -- "Here I am, world; look out!" I think she looks a lot like her daddy right now, but maybe got Caroline's skin.
Alet, I use a lot of Rebecah's toddler items in my main game. They're lifesavers!

I've downloaded default replacements to take care of those. Well, except for one eyebrow type that I seem to have lost the replacement for somehow. - Sugah wrote:

Photoskinning is definitely NOT my strong suit! No It has been years since I've created any sims fashions. I'm not sure I could still do it well. I didn't mind the creating part of it, but the doing preview pics (even though I was lazy and just did them in CAS. See here.), the packaging, uploading, and posting was tedious and ultimately the reason I quit. If I ever get back into trying to create again, I'll definitely shoot you a PM.

Whose eyebrow set(s) do you use as default replacement? I need to think about doing so myself. - Quote :

Yes! Why, WHY, did they make all the eyebrows like that? I use Poppet's default replacement eyebrows. Scroll down a down a bit to find them. I think I originally found them at Sims2Defaults. I didn't know about that site until last year, but I looked at every single default replacement when I was setting up Isle of Demeter and I've copied all the default replacements into Sugah's Pleasantview.

| Just a quick update: Kitty Cole is now enrolled in Academie Le Tour, where she will be a physics major. Gotta work on those eyebrows, though! Mom and dad, Damien and the stunningly lovely Caroline, will now be going into my retirement subhood and my main 'hood will be a little less beautiful! | |

| Looks like Kitty is excited and ready to start her academic career! Yay! I kind of like her eyebrows though. (I think her wardrobe could use a little work though. I find a lot of my college freshmen do too.)
Sugah, I found the brows I use. I didn't know if I could or if they'd still be around. As I suspected they're By Helaene. Somehow I seem to be missing the bushy ones. I might grab one from one of the sets Cher shared.

Awwww! Did they morph into seniors already, Mac? If so, I'd love it if you'd share a snapshot of them as elders in your Mac's 'Hood thread.

| Sugah I don't morph 'em into seniors. The only senior in my 'hood is Dora Ottomas and I fear that since the family doesn't have enough points to get any more green stuff that she'll soon be meeting the grim reaper. Too bad, since she was really important in bringing up all those kids. Otherwise, my simmies are so awash in points for green stuff I keep them perpetual adults. When they go to the retirement 'hood, I don't play them so they don't age. They can still interact with sims in the main 'hood. I just sort of lose interest in them when they've had kids and are at the top of their careers. I admit, Caroline will always be interesting! I might, though, morph the couple into elders just for a pic but then not save. Em I don't think much of her faux cowgirl outfit either, but since I only play one semester at univ I usually don't bother much with wardrobe, etc. Now and then an extreme outfit does need to be changed, though. I just wish there was some way to banish the mascot, the cow, and the cheerleader from univ. These weren't around at Harvard where I went to college, only upper-class twits! | |

I just sort of lose interest in them when they've had kids and are at the top of their careers. Mac, I hate to say this, but I'm pretty sure you know I've been thinking it for a loooooong time... You, my dear captain, have a prejudice against old folks. (I'm sorry. I couldn't resist! )

| Here are Damien and Caroline - both as adults and as elders - I just used a hack to age them, didn't change anything else. BTW, Caroline is still stunning! Sugah For goodness sake - I'm 74! It's not that I dislkie old people, but that I can't bear to lose my favorite simmies. What I may just do, though, is age those who are grandparents (are you listening, Sugah???) and just not play them. It is, after all, a bit bizarre for the grandparents to look the same age as the parents. Through it all, however, I still am very unhappy about the portrayal of the various ages. The "adults" are 20-30 somethings and the "elders" have one foot in the grave. I don't groan and limp the way they do (well not much, anyway ). Completely missing are the parents of the kids in univ - say 40-60 somethings. I neglected in my initial post about Caroline and Damien to include links. Caroline can be found [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and Damien can be found [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. | |

I guess my feeble attempt at humor was not very successful, Mac. I KNOW you are a senior citizen. I was just trying to be funny when accusing you of being prejudice against the old folks! I totally get that you can't bear to lose you favorite Sims. So many of us feel the same. Sorry for any misunderstanding. Caroline remains a beauty, btw, even as an elder.

| Sugah - no offense given, no offense taken. Actually, I think it's a good idea to "elderize" any sims in my retirement 'hood who are grandparents. I still won't play them, but at least they won't appear to be the same age as their adult children. They'll be true grannies and grandpas (emoticon needed here) and spoil their grandkids and harass their kids. In the meantime, Happy Mothers' Day to you - mom, grandmom, doggie mom, and den mom to all of us on this site! | |

I, personally, love the idea of Sim grandparents looking like true Papas/Nanas/Grannies/Grampies/fabulous senior citizens, etc., etc. But you know how much I adore my elderly Sims, Mac. And I'm still considering, very seriously, building a nice retirement home in Tres Lagos, with multiple villas and all the marvelous amenities my old folks could want. When I play that lot, I will use the aging off cheat, and none of my beloved seniors will ever age any further or pass on. - Quote :

Didn't know about this one, Sugah, is it a Maxis testing cheat as in 'set aging off'? The problem is that I have sooo many retired sims since I play such an extensive 'hood. If they were still active in any way it'd take me more than a year to play a single season.

| With the Maxis aging off cheat, all automatic aging. Kids and teens don't grow up automatically. You have to buy the birthday cake and go that route. | |

| The aging off cheat works best only when you don't want everyone on the whole lot to age or die off... Which would be in the case of a retirement community with elder Sims we can't bear to part with, Mac. In other words, it wouldn't work for a lot that you have a couple of kiddos that you wish to grow older, but the parents to NOT age. You'd have to want time to stand still for ALL Sims on the aging off lot! | |

In that case I see why you wouldn't bother. Honestly, I usually don't either, even for teens and younger who are going to be at that life stage for awhile. Unless, like you said, it was really extreme! - mac wrote:

Surely, someone somewhere has made a mod for that. Either to get rid of them completely or to replace their costumes and make them look more like the twits you remember from your college days.

I am a senior but I keep my elder Sims around for humor and help with kids. I am learning a lot here in your Offspring Project, Mac.
