Mac's 'Hood

Aw, Tim and Darcy do look really happy together. They make a nice looking couple.

Gibson, Rona, and Nathaniel are a cute family. I especially like the picture of young Nathaniel cuddling with his mom. He an Odile make a cute couple. He reaction after their kiss is priceless.

Congrats to SimElle and her handsome hubby, Mark. Chelsea is lovely. She looks so much like her mom.

Rhiannon, the born-in-game daughter of two born-in-game sims Toni (daughter of Nerissa and Nathaniel Broadswood-Smythe) and Frederick (son of Nisa and Ron Weasley) became a teenager. Here she is with mom and dad.


She also got to know her two grandmothers, whom I've aged to elders: Nisa and Nerissa. As you can see, Nisa's kept her red hair (only her hairdresser knows for sure  )


Meanwhile, Svetlana Moon is off to university and is a budding ballerina. Mom and dad, Miranda Moon and Jean Lafitte (actually Brendan) - both by Ari   are both retired pirates. You can check out Svetlana here

For a while, Toni's Casper and Lorelei looked like they would be a pair, with suitably pale offspring. Then in waltzed Caleb's Tamara with three bolts and suddenly Casper had a new love interest.

But Casper didn't move fast enough! Toni's Kirk (Fortune/Scorpio Baseball/Fitness) moved in and also had three bolts with the delectable Tamara. Two of Toni's: Rory (Popularity/Leo RealEstate/Music) and Milena (Fortune/Scorpio Architecture/Arts) just got engaged.    Seems like a good combination of careers!


And I was despairing of finding a simfemme for Em's Will (on Hunter's website). But then along came Barbie Doll (yes, that's her name) posted here way back in 2008 by @Stefan on MTS2. He's Popularity/Leo Slacker/Music and she's Popularity/Taurus, has a hobby of dance and has the

Some of the plastic effects on Barbie are lost since I just had to replace the #$*&# Barbie skin!

It's hard to blame the guys for falling hard for Tamara. I hope Casper and Lorelei can work things out; it seems Casper wasn't the guy for Tamara.

Rita is growing up to be very pretty, and it's nice that she and her dad can make time for a meal together; teens can be very busy. It looks like they're enjoying the time together.

Rory and Milena make a nice looking couple; I'm sure their children will be stunning! I like how their careers complement each other. I imagine them one day having an office together and offering a full service deal to prospective home owners.

I'm posting here because Jessica Clark (by LoWiSa ) and Riku Masato (by our Nonni ) don't qualify as parents for the offspring thread. What's interesting is that their daughter, Michiko, inherited mom's hairdo. Here is the family when Michiko was a toddler and proud papa with his painting of his family

I was very impressed by the portrait Riku painted of Jessica and Michiko!! Great job by both of you

Both Riku and Michiko have l-o-n-g faces. That, combined with some of Jessica's features, and her hair, make her a stunner!

Michiko looks like a nice combination of both parents. I love when that happens.

I think if a custom hair isn't color binned, an offspring of the same gender will inherit that exact hair. In this case, it looks fabulous on both mother and daughter.

The painting is sweet; Riku is right to be proud.

I recently started playing the Ottomas family, since Samantha (the mom) had appeared quite a bit in my 'hood. The Ottomas family is a Maxis preset, added to the family bin by the Seasons update. Here is a pic of the original family.


Here are the kids, later. That's David, in the sports outfit; Tommy, grown up to a teen from a toddler; Sharla, grown up to a teen from a child; and Odile, grown up from a baby to a child. You can see Odile on page 71 of this thread, reacting to her first kiss   She's now in univ, living with that guy!


It gets interesting when David and Sharla graduate from university and become adults. David displays some of the usual Maxis NPC features: Square face, heavy in the jowls, and big lips


But Sharla    , and all I changed was the skin (from  the Barbie skin) and the hair. I didn't touch the makeup or do any plastic surgery at all. Cheekbones to die for   I have her slated for an athletic career even though her features scream "MODEL"

That's just the way Starla came out! I don't create many sims, so I don't use default face templates, but maybe the creators at Maxis did.

Sandy, I use default templates, too, so I won't be afraid to let my Sims procreate with townies and whatnot.

Mac, your Sharla turned out unusually pretty for a Maxis Sim. I think I played the Ottomas family for only a short time, and the Newsome family once for a generation or two. Otherwise, I haven't spent much time with the families that come with the game. It's fun to see someone playing with them, and how they turn out.

When you have DDG simmies like Elle's Caroline, why use them just once in your 'hood?

Then there's Elle's April. I originally "adultified" her in CAS, moved her into a house, then "teenified" her. The only problem is that when she grew into an adult, she had a blue face (due to all the hacking) and needed plastic surgery. The net result, though, was a very pretty woman who just recently is hot 'n heavy (3 bolts) with a college guy, Matthew, who's the son of Ulli's Benjamin and Anna (by lisica022 on TSR)


But I wanted to try a new April as a teen (without using hacks) and have one more go with Caroline, so I'm double dipping. Meet the lovely mom, Carol Kohl, and her teenage daughter (maybe adopted), April! Carol has a new "do" and a new zodiac (Taurus) and a new career - probably a lawyer. Oh yeah - still knits!

So true!! I use 'em too! It's alot of fun and I make new neighborhoods just to try out new ones!!

Here's Sim Sugah with her two grandchildren: Baylee and Parker. Baylee (Popularity/Pisces) has just graduated from university. Her hobby is sports and she will probably be entering an athletic career. Parker is in high school - about to go off to university. She's (Knowledge/Cancer) and is very shy. Like her cousin, she is interested in sports, too, and will also probably be entering an athletic career. Baylee is the daughter of Sugah's son Kane and Lily Potter  (daughter of Harry). Parker is the daughter of Sugah's daughter Crystal and Toni's Thomas. Once Parker is in university, her mom and dad will join her grandparents and her aunt and uncle Lily and Kane in retirement. Now it's all up to the 3rd (!) generation!

Fantastic photo!! How did you get them to all sit down and pose like that? Awesome! Baylee and Parker are beauties!! I love Sugahs plaid top also, do you remember where you got it? Also what is the stake in the background with the Burglar face?

Hi Sandy,

There is a "Pose" option in the sim's main action menu. (You might have to hit "more" to find it) I searched all my Prima guides to see if it was introduced in a later expansion but found no mention. The Pose option is invaluable in setting up family groupings, etc. It doesn't work for toddlers, though. You move the sim into place, pose them, and then they'll stay that way until released so you can bring in other sims for the picture. There is one sitting pose and quite a few standing ones. As you move the point of view around, the eyes and heads rotate to keep looking at you.

The stake in the background with the burglar face is a "No Burglars Allowed" sign. It's available at simslice.com (somewhere - I tried to find it without success, take a look). I got sick of all the burglars-alarms-cops, etc. If this sign is on a property, the burglars won't come!
