I put in a couple of Google searches as soon as I read your post, but didn't come up with anything except info on flooded LOTS, not neighborhoods. I will keep looking these next few days as time allows, Jackie. If you learn anything, will you share the information here with us?

I found this in a ini file "NeighborhoodTerrain.ini"
[NHoodTerrainTunables] ; How far above water does the beach extend. MaxBeachAltitude=4 ; How far from water (on x, y plane) should a vertex be for it to get beach texture. This doesn\'t take ; texture spreading into consideration. MaxBeachWidthInCells=2
But I don\'t know if thats right to lower the water with, any way I can backup the file, and try to high or low the numbers.... Yes Sugah I will do that
I've had that trouble in my neighborhoods too. The water spreads out farther than it really should from the neighborhood view. Do you have any camera mods or anything like that? I can't remember what it's called, but there's a mod that lets you see more of the neighborhood and adjust the angle of the camera or your point of view better. That's what I always assumed was causing that problem in my game.
Yes I have a camera mod for the neighborhood, but I had in a year now and this is the first time that happens... And I don't have the original camera mod from the game any more so to get that back I have to reinstall the whole game, but the camera mod can interfere with the "Video card" (don't know that name, but the one that shows the picture) Before I had a computer with a "ATI Radeon High teck 8200 Excalibur", but then that computer went up in smoke (for reel) and I bout this one with a "Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family", Intel Corporation-compatible, it can be that if they don't read the information the same. don't know, well I have to look a bit more for the cheat to lower the water, and then reinstall everything again...
Em, thank you for your input. What did you do to correct the "flooding" issue? Did you take the camera mod out?
I found this by plasticbox over at MTS2 regarding one of his hoods:
- When you move the camera far up, some of the beach lots will probably look flooded in neighbourhood view. You can see that effect on some of my screenshots. I think the exact amount of the "flooding" depends on the graphics card (and perhaps game version, too) , in any case there's nothing to worry about: the lots only *look* flooded but the water level doesn't actually change.
I don't know if it's applicable to your situation or not, Jackie.
I'm not sure about that cheat, btw. I don't know a thing about it...

Yes I read that to about looking flooded high up in the air, (he did a very nice neighborhood by the way) but I tock the pictures high just to show how flooded they was, down by the surface it was flooded to .
Any way I fixed my flood problem with Re installing the last expansion packet I uses now, (sure I did not forget to backup my Neighborhoods and my Download folder first ) after that I had no flood in my neighborhood's, so I guess it was the camera hack that not being compatible with the "Picture card" sorry about that, because with the MAXI's neighborhood camera one cant use the whole map...
So I guess it's solved now, Also Thanks for all help Lady's

Subject: Challenge Forum Request Wed Apr 28, 2010 12:39 pm
Sugah, I decided to try the asylum challenge that Ari posted a link to and I wanted to share what's happening separately from my totally random "what's happening in your game" thread. What do you think about making a section for the asylum challenge or even just miscellaneous challenges? I think it would be fun to have a section for other challenges too. Thanks.
That sounds like a good idea. In fact, I originally had a section for sharing challenges & new challenge ideas. But until Elle's Spouse Swap Challenge, the previous challenge thread was nothing but a barren wasteland.
I love it that you're considering the Asylum Challenge and will eventually give that one a whirl, too. Shall I just start a single thread for folks to post whatever challenges they'd like to share in one section? I think I like that idea rather than a new section for every challenge known to Simdom. What do you think?
I think having one place for various challenges would be good. Otherwise you might end up with a lot of sections with just a few threads and you wouldn't have to make a new section each time someone comes up with a new challenge they want to try.
I thought you'd had a challenge section that was pretty much empty. I think I was involved with the challenges at Basic at the time and then I wasn't able to play for awhile.
I already got a good start on the asylum challenge the last couple of nights, so maybe I'll be able to post about it sometime this week.
Thanks, Sugah.

You are most welcome & I agree, Em. I don't want to create a bunch of new sections for each and every challenge perhaps just a couple of people are partipating in. The misc. challenge thread should suffice. And if it is ever NOT enough, I will try to create individual threads for the more popular challenges.
That being said, HERE is where you can start sharing your Asylum Challenge. I'm so excited that you'll be sharing it here with us and am, again, happy you now have a new computer for improved game play. WOO HOO!
Thank you for this request. Issue resolved. I am hereby closing this thread.

Subject: Quite a few tattoos! Sun May 09, 2010 10:08 pm
Hello everyone! Thank you for reading this [even if you have no intention to make them]. I do appreciate it. So, I was just wondering if someone can make Yu's tattoos for me for adult male! I have the following games: Sims 2, Seasons, Apartment Life, Nightlife, and Pets. Thank you very much if you do this for me! I will appreciate it! So, not all the pictures are tattoos, as you can see. I added a few pictures of Yu himself to show you the general placing of them. There's one in there that's a mirror shot, so all you have to do is pretend your facing him. Since mirrors usually show the opposite. Something like that... I don't even know! Anyway, I really hope someone can do this!

Wow!
As I said in our PMs, this is quite an undertaking, James. I might be able to take on one or two of those tatoos ... but even then, I'm not sure if they will turn out sufficently enough. I don't have a lot of experience working with skin or other genetics.
Thank you for posting this request. It's definitely not an endeavor for Body Shop newbies!

That's okay. At least you're trying and that's all I ask for! I was looking for a tutorial to help you or even myself if I wanted to try! But I couldn't seem to find one! I'll keep looking and if I come across anything good I'll let you know!
Edit: Well, I found a tutorial. BUT it says Jasc Paint and they're using a tattoo with a white background. Not sure about ones from a real person. But, I'm going to hope that this helps you even if a little!

Thank you for trying to find a tutorial for me (us). This one is okay and a bit helpful, but not as descriptive as I may need.
One of my biggest concerns is... I am by no means an artist, nor skilled enough with the mouse in PSP 7 to actually "paint" the tatoos on the skin. I'm not sure I can transfer the images of the tatooos you've provided, rather than actually draw them. It helps to have a completely different color background (as in the tutorial - black on white) to extract the image cleanly.
I still intend on trying at least a couple of these, however, when things slow down here a bit.

Hey, Sugah! I've just been inquired about something that may be useful to you in this process!
[Quoted from a PM from Vindicatedmess via MTS2.]
For tattoos, what I would generally do is use the Pen Tool in Photoshop. One of the links below will take you to a Pen Tool Tutorial. If you don't have Photoshop you can download Paint.NET, which has some of the capabilities that Photoshop has, except that Paint is absolutely free. I also have a "cutting out images" tutorial link below for Paint.NET and the link for where you can get it. I also put a link on a Tattoo tutorial that you follow. It's pretty simple. This is how I would do it: cut the tattoo image from the picture with the Pen Tool, copy it, then paste it onto the skintone. I know it sounds simple and it really is, it's just the actual cutting the image out that's hard. To save time, I would also use Vertus Fluid Mask, it outlines the entire subject or tattoo, then you just fill in the parts you want with green and fill the outside with red for what you don't want to keep. It automatically cuts it out for you. I also have a link for that, too. Only thing is, is that it's a 14 day trial.
Okay, I know, a lot of information for one post. These links are safe, they should be. Don't be intimidated by all of these links, the first one is the actual tutorial, the rest is editing program stuff and info.
I hope this helps. You can update me on your progress and ask me for any help.
Good luck :)

I realize this is mostly all there is to it. Making sure the tattoo images are of fine quality, so that it can be done is a big issue. Not just any image of the tattoo will do. Like I said, if the images can not be transferred neatly and effectively, I'm not sure I'm up to this task. Plus, I don't think I'd be willing to take on doing ALL of them...maybe one or two, possibly.
Thank you for all the links. I'm going to stick with PSP7, as I am not interested in downloading any new paint programs at this time. You know, you might want to give this a go yourself, James! You've done the legwork, program and tutorial-wise. Have you considered attempting this request now that you know what's needed to do so?

I think I might try it myself after I finish building this flat and I'm going to try and get Yu to help me out. He's good with paint programs and the like. ...I think. Lol. I'm not sure. But, he's always so busy working and everything. I might just have to do it myself! But, I think I'd be okay with it if I can just finish building this flat. It's a lot work for. But, if I do try it myself, I'll keep you updated on how it's going!
