| I get that sometimes too. I just always hit the back button like Sugah said. I started out with the Wizard but now I just open Sim PE and use the Object Workshop but if you are just starting out I'd recomend using the Wizard. I am gonna try to recolor some of the Maxis items in a bit. Been busy these last 2 days so haven't gotten a chance but today is a free day for me. i hope to get some recolors done and posted by the weekend at least. BTW Sugah since we are recolor these items by request do you have somewhere on your site I can post them or should I just post them over at Paegin Sims? | |

| Since they were requested @ SP, I'd prefer you share them as exclusives here, if that's okay, Beckylynn. You can always post your Maxis recolors in our "Gifts from Treasured Friends" thread. And in the post, simply say "Requested by Bwinney Bunney", like you see in THIS post. You can always provide the link to where you're sharing your Maxis recolors in THIS thread, so Bwin can easily find them. - Quote :

Same here and I concur. - Quote :

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with, Beckylynn. Thank you!

| Subject: Gardener Party [Thread closed - Solved!] Tue Feb 28, 2012 9:24 pm | |
| It's happened to me before, and I've heard of it happening to others. Just as my sim (Hermione Granger, no less) is going to work, the gardener truck pulls up and a small army (dozens!) of gardeners pile out. They invade the home, shower, sleep in the beds. When she gets home, half of them are naked. She has to dismiss each and every one. At least they were literate, she must have had to put away around 30 books! Amusing, but annoying. Anyone else experienced this, or have any wisdom on it? | |

| Thanks for the help guys. I am off work this Thursday so I think I will try these tutorials out. I'm excited to start recoloring objects. How do you go about recoloring custom objects? I didn't check to see if they appear in the list of items along with maxis' items.
I think my first project will be that sacred star wall hang. I am so determined to have some new colors for that thing in my game!

| Bwin, I'm not sure if you saw THIS on the previous page. To recolor CC you must use the full version of SimPE. But as Beckylynn and I have learned and advised, it's best to start out with Wizards doing Maxis recolors, get a feel for it, then move on from there. It will definitely help when you're ready to get started on CC recoloring. Good luck with your Sacred Star Wall Hanging. I've been keeping my eye out for a used version of Holiday Stuff Pack at Half Price Books, but haven't found one yet. I got most all of my other SPs there for $5.99-$7.99! Keep us posted and if you have any questions, I will try to help (in this thread). | |

is that like a poster? I recolored my first set of posters last week(see them HERE) and i had to redo them all after I put them in my game because for some reason they were normal on my recolor in my graphics program but in game they were all backwards, like they were mirrored or something.

| I have seen that happen with certain paintings or images, Beckylynn. When you create them, they look just fine. Then, in game, the image is mirrored. The biggest problem is when there are WORDS on the painting/poster, and they're backwards! It's one of those things I've discovered you can't know til you load up your game and test, unfortunately. Unless, I am missing something? But that's definitely a heads up for Bwin! Thank you. Added later @ 10:20 am on Thursday: Well, I did some Maxis recolors yesterday of the Zecutime Loveseat, Patio Plastic Dining Chairs and The Plumper Thumper from Smitty Classy Sectional. I have to confess, I am not happy with ANY of them. Now, truth be told, I only changed the color hues. I didn't add new fabrics/textures to the meshes. I am going to replace the textures next time. I might share images of what I've done so far, but again, I'm not that impressed with the results. Good luck today, Bwin! I hope you find some time to give Wizards of SimPE a try! | |

| You know, Mac, I got to thinking about this and I think years ago when I first started playing Sims 2 it happened to me! I need to go back through my old Photobucket account to see if I still have the screenshot of all the gardners showing up. You're right. They pretty much moved in and took over the house. Did you get any pictures? - Quote :

How did THAT happen? - Quote :

Too funny, Sir Mac! I don't know WHY it happens, nor do I have any wisdom on the Gardener Brigade, but it sure is a trip to watch when it's going on. That's for sure!

| I had that once, but i never found out about what causes it.
What I did do though was add the 'Perfect Plants & Perfect Gardens' hack, so I don't need gardeners or have to pay for them and as they don't turn up, no problems.

| Perfect gardens sounds great, and I will be adopting it. Not only will it kill the "Gardener Party" but in addition, so many custom lots have unaccessable areas that cause the gardener to complain. Now my sims can just enjoy the shrubbery. I do like having fruit trees - especially orange trees but do find the constant pruning and spraying to be a real pain. Thank you so much for the tip! | |

| I have the same problem with IE, I just put up with or use Firefox. I think it is to do with the coding with IE. | |

| When I started using the latter versions of IE, I had the same issues, ranablu. It's one of the reasons I stayed with IE7, I believe. I didn't have issues like what you're dealing with when I used the older version of IE. However, when I switched to Google Chrome everything was just fine. It seems Firefox is a good choice, too, as Russ has said. I'm sorry you are having problems. I guess Forumotion isn't completely supported by newer IE browsers' coding unfortunately. | |

| You know, sometimes we're so mesmerized by weird stuff happening in our games, we forget to take snapshots! I've had that happen a time or two, believe me. Either that, or we get too busy trying to figure out how to "fix" the chaos that's ensued! I'm glad you enjoyed these pics, Mac. It makes me want to start a thread in our Sims Schmoozathon area just for "Strange Sims Occurrrences"! | |

| Are you sure this isn't linked to game corruption at all? I'd be afraid it might turn into a BFBVFS but then again I am always scared of game corruption.
By any chance, Mac, do you have any hacks in your game(if you're a hack user, that is) that prevent multiple NPCs from generating in your game? I got it from MATY and it's been very useful. Keeps the game files down to a minimum which in turn keeps possible game corruption down to a minimum. Just something to think about.

| My old neighborhood (400+) families did eventually burn and crash, or at least it would load, but crash if I tried anything. That's why I restarted in a much smaller neighborhood. Over 100 people but still nothing like before - and I'm keeping an eye on it. Every two weeks or so, I back up the hood onto a backup disk, just in case. I did go to BFBVFS and I consider myself warned. I haven't heard of the hack you mention and would appreciate a reference. Sugah, I think a "Strange Sims Occurrences" in the Schmoozathon area is a good idea. Both for the amusement value and possibly for troubleshooting. | |

| I've had that happen before too. I can't remember if it was with gardeners or repairmen or maybe both on different locations. I think, in my case at least, that it occured because the game was having problems summoning the gardener and just kept trying to generate new ones until I happened to exit the lot, come back in and found them all lined up on the lawn. I don't think I let them hang around long enough for them to get up to any antics. I eventually had to move that family out of the lot because it was causing me problems. | |

| Thanks for the replies. I guess since I am so comfortable with IE I really don't like so of the other non functions of GC. I'll bite the bullet and change. AHH. Change is so hard but it will be worth it. Thanks. | |

http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,7.0.html The links provided by Caleb are exactly what I was going to post :) I'm a big user of MATY hacks. There are so many that nuke unwanted functions in the game and there are also functional hacks that improve gameplay. The specific NPC hack is called the " anti redundancy" hack. Here is a link specifically to that hack.
