| When I made mine, I either took a couple of pictures of myself to use as reference (one from the front and one from the side, with a neutral expression) or I looked in the mirror and kept playing with the sliders in Bodyshop until I got something I was happy with. The trouble I had with mine, and maybe you've had with yours, is that it's difficult to make full cheeks or any kind of roundness to the face or, in my case, a wide jaw, without making the sim look fat. It's kind of touchy and it takes a lot of manipulation and trial and error. I'd be happy to try to make a simself for you, if you'd want me too. Nice pictures, by the way. Very cute. :)

When I did mine, I got her to where I liked her but was just missing something. Then I had my husband and mother look at her from a neutral point of view and give feedback. That helped a lot. I am sure whether you let Em do it or tackle it yourself, it will come out fine. You have a great starting reference point!

| Em if you would be willing to give it a try that would be awesome. I sorta have a long face so when i get the face long enough ans start working on the cheeks it looks weird then my mouth looks liek it on my nose lol. I may give it another try but like i said if you wanna try to make me one it would be awesome. | |

| That's a good idea, Elle. I seem to remember someone on one of the forums sharing pics of a sim they were making to look like someone and taking suggestions. Beckylynn, maybe you could share some pics of a sim you tried to make and see if anyone has any suggestions. With my simself I was having troubles with face length and width too. I got to the point where I felt like my face is long and wide. If face length is the problem, try starting with a sim face that's closest to your face shape or maybe focus on the length first and then try to adjust the other features. What sim face you start with can make a huge difference. If you have to make the face longer, then you might have to keep moving up the eyes and nose, which can start to change the nose shape. I'm willing to give it a try, but if I probably won't be able to start working on it until later this weekend and it's hard to tell how long it might take. Some sims come out quickly, some take a lot of manipulating to get right. So if you were hoping for it soon you might be better off giving it another try. | |

| I'm gonna give it one more try and i'll post pics of the sim to see what y'all think. I'm great at making sims but when it comes to making one of me it seems hard. | |

| I agree.
It's a little harder making sims that are supposed to look like someone and especially difficult when that someone is yourself, because it's hard to be objective about yourself. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with! :)

| First of all, thank you, BeckyLynn, for posting in our Q & A thread AND for sharing such great photos of yourself and your hubby. It's nice to see you! I especially like the one of you two together. Secondly, big shout out to Em and Elle for responding to BeckyLynn's query. I truly appreciate your efforts & suggestions, ladies. Thank you both MUCHO. - Elle wrote:

Beckylynn, maybe you could share some pics of a sim you tried to make and see if anyone has any suggestions... I remember Ed @ Simply Edward (site now closed) used to do so, Em, and didn't Russ when he was a creative artist there, too? Forgive me if this feeble old mind is remembering incorrectly. I know Russ has requested feedback in his Requests thread here. I think it's a great idea, Elle and Em. I agree. Have your hubby and another family member or two take a look and give you their opinion on how you're coming along on your Simself, BL. You can always post your progress in this thread. We'd be happy to share our thoughts based on the pics you've posted of yourself. GO FOR IT!!!

Russ was who came to mind for me, but I didn't remember if he was asking for advice or offering it. I didn't say for sure, because I must have an old, feeble mind as well. LOL

I thought of Russ, also, but in light of his recent family issues I did not feel it wise to put more on his plate at the moment. He did offer advice, but he does have a request thread here although it has not been very active of late. - Sugalicious wrote:

| To do a self sim, you need to provide the right pictures.
Check out this self sim and the pictures provided.

I was referring to Russ and Ed and how they would post the celebrity Sims they were working on so that other members could give opinions on their progress. It was in reference to this: - Em wrote:

I'm sorry, Elle. I probably wasn't very clear on that. I can't imagine Russ taking anything else on in lieu of his family matters, of course. Speaking of, thank you for checking in and for offering your input, Russ. - BeckyLynn wrote:

We'd be happy to give our thoughts & make suggestions as you progress with her, BL, per our discussion here.

| Alright friends,
This girl needs some help with SimPe. First, I went to the official site to download it and wow, there are so many things in that folder. Can someone tell me exactly what I need to run to install it?

| Hey Jen, did you see the tutorial by Xanathon? He has written a simple "how to" manual for those of us who are overwhelmed with the installation of SimPE. Check it out HERE. It's a PDF file.
You'll need this software to run SimPE, too:
Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Managed Direct X 9c (only if you want to work with Meshes)
It's been so long since I installed SimPE, I can't remember the details! I'm sorry I have not been more help, m'lady.

| Wow, thanks Lady S..
I feel this will just have to wait until tomorrow before I try and download it again. It seems I have a lot of reading to do first. I had NO idea that there was going to be sooo much involved with it...sheesh!

| You know, I honestly don't remember much more than downloading, then installing the SimPE application, then double clicking it when I wanted to start it up, Jen. I'm sure there is more to it than that, but I believe it LOOKS more complicated than it is. I bet Toni would remember far better than forgetful old yours truly. | |

| I didn't remember doing anything special to install it either. But like Sugah, for me it's been awhile. If it doesn't have an automatic install, I think all you have to do is extract everything to one folder. | |
