| Thanks for your compliments, everyone! I think I'm really going to enjoy playing this way. I like to change things up every once in awhile, otherwise I tend to get bored. There will probably be a lot of baby spam, because all the couples need to start families and produce heirs. I haven't figured out what's been causing the game crash yet because I haven't played in since that post. I've been busy working on a top secret project. And I'll be busy all weekend so I probably won't even get a chance to play until Tuesday. I'm already missing it, lol. Thanks for your sympathies. I lost more than I thought. I lost all the clothing projects I had been experimenting with. They weren't anything spectacular or anything, but I had some cute little girls' t-shirts. One was a Pink Panther one that I had spent a couple of hours in Photoshop cleaning up the image so I could use it. And the men's shirts I made for Sugah's updates are gone, too - so it's a good thing I uploaded them here so I can have a copy of them. Oy. There will be some other fun things in the kingdom, too. Like the resident Witch, Morgana. She's a romance sim, and her job will be to 'ensnare' men who wander too close to her lair. She is actually my Varda, with different hair. I really liked the pink hair on her, but you couldn't see the pretty forehead ornamentation she's wearing, so I went with a different style. Here she is putting the moves on a townie named Adam Steele (thank you default medieval name replacer!) Behind her on the couch is another male townie she invited inside. It doesn't matter if she is really even attracted to these men or not, that's what love potions are for. She's a real witch and can make her own, plus any other potion any of the townspeople need. So, I'm thinking about playing her like I've said above, but also with a fun twist. The expanded rules say to have a gypsy camp, where your fallen sims are sent to live. These are supernatural sims, or any other sim that is shunned by society. For example, if you have a sim that is turned into a vampire, they have a certain time period in which to find a cure, or they are sent to live in the gypsy camp. Morgana happily supplies potions to cure many ailments...for a price. If the sim that needs a cure is male, we can all guess what Morgana will ask for. If the sim that needs the witch's help is a female and married, then Morgana will ask for a night with the woman's husband. And if an unmarried woman needs her help, then I'll figure out something. Maybe through the use of her wicked magic (the simblender) she'll make that woman pregnant with Morgana's own or a random townie's child - but then there's a chance that woman will have to go live in the gypsy camp. So it will come down between tough choices for some of the townsfolk. So lots of fun, evil, sneaky things can arise from having a witch in the hood! And what would a gypsy camp be without a gypsy? Meet poor Sigfried. Once an influential noble, and now a fallen. He looks normal enough... But he has a terrible secret. Actually, he has more than one. Stay tuned... | |

What are you up to, m'lady??? Once again, I am sorry for all you lost. You know, maybe it's a good thing I have horrible recollection skills. I can't recall everything I lost last month, due to an extremely leaky vessel I call my memory bank. I think I'd be way more bummed if I could remember all I lost recently. Could Morgana be any more GORGEOUS??? WOW!!! Varda was a true beauty and looks sensational with the new hair. - Quote :

VERY COOL! Have you found a way to get rid of the god awful green witch bubbles? UGH! The "Gypsy Camp" sounds fascinating, btw. - Quote :

You truly make it a point to have some stimulating, fun, interesting and new stuff going on in your game at all times, Lady A! My gameplay seems totally boring compared to yours. Siegfried is definitely one of your morfe interesting characters... A pregnant gypsy werewolf??? Can't wait to learn more! Thank you so much for sharing.

| Thank you for your comments, darlin'. I haven't had time to play in days. I'm looking forward to booting up my game and playing for awhile - if we don't have thunderstorms, that is. My plan is to play a different house than the one that was crashing - to see if that one crashes, too. I haven't had time to figure out why the one house is crashing. But I've had random lots that would crash before - though they didn't have anything any other lot didn't have. I'll just go from there and see what happens. - Sugah wrote:

Making sims for your new fashion department, silly lady. I sorta went nuts and spent the day doing it - and I loved it. I really do enjoy making sims. - Sugah wrote:

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean the green witch skin? There are overrides at MTS2 or Insim for that (defaults that look like your sims' normal skins instead of the good/bad witch skins the game generates when your sim becomes a good/bad witch). Morgana is actually a neutral witch, though, as I didn't feel like bothering with another default and the only thing I really wanted her to be able to make is potions. As a neutral she can do that. However, when I play her, she'll be not-so-neutral. Yes, indeed, a pregnant gypsy werewolf. I couldn't start a gypsy camp with no one living in it. Because you know I would be pushing to send someone there as I just LOVE drama (bet you didn't know that, did you? LOL) So I decided to create poor damned soul to live there. AND I can test out my 'Stolen by Fairies' mod that replaces alien abduction. I'm looking forward to trying that out. ADDED TUES. 8/11 I have some pictures to share of 2 of my noble families. First up, The Bloodstone Family. Meet Augustus and Rebecca. The nobles live a pretty charmed life. The husband works hard, and will be allowed to climb all the way to the top of his chosen career (with the class limitations, of course). The wife stays home to run the homestead, but she has the help of whatever service personnel I want for her. All of them will have a butler and a servo (the servo takes the night shift after the butler goes home). One of my families also has a gardener because they have a lot of landscaping. Also, a nanny and maid are allowed, as well, if the butler is overwhelmed in his duties. Augustus got a job in Athletics. Both he and his wife will have plenty of time to socialize and make new connections so he can earn lots of money. He already pays taxes to the king. Sister Mary Rosa has stopped by for a visit. In addition to taxes, the residents of Dragonfae will pay a tithe to the church. The Sister and her father will take in all the orphans of the kingdom, so they will depend upon donations to keep the Abbey running smoothly. In this picture, we see a very pregnant Rebecca (she is my Karly, by the way), her servo, Jeanette, and one of the medieval default paintings Rebecca is working on. The game's regular paintings would be really out of place here. I'm not sure if they had jumpropes back then, but I know for sure they didn't have fancy schmancy workout equipment! Augustus enjoys earning a body skill point for work. Meet the heir, Henry. Next up is the Moonblade Family. This is William and Clara. I honestly can't remember where I got these sims or if I even based them off anyone else's sims. Perhaps they popped up in CAS. Though Nobles, the Moonblades have considerably less money than my other 2 Noble Families. They can't afford a servo yet, so have to make do with just a butler. After Clara gave birth, I hired a nanny to help out while William was away at work. He's currently in Military for the money, but I'll be moving him to Architecture because that's his dream job. Can you say butler fail? He put the food in the oven and wandered away to go trim a hedge or something. Good thing the nobles are allowed to have fire alarms. This house is surrounded by hedges, and I have employed a gardener to help keep the grounds in shape. Probably, the butler was stressing about a hedge that needed a trim. Idiot. He also stood in the middle of a pile of garbage to pick up the garbage can. I have invisible overrides for my garbage cans - the bright aluminum doesn't blend, lol. He picked up the garbage he was standing in, and I was considering not taking his picture and shaming him publicly, until he decided to take the garbage back inside the house. Despite the fact he was standing right next to the garbage can! I took two shots when Clara was getting ready to give birth because I thought it was funny to get it from each perspective. William and the Inept Butler rush in and do that thing sims do when someone has a baby. Clara: "Chillax, dudes. It's just a baby." ...or is it? Clara gave birth to twins, Josephine and Joseph. I thought I took a picture of both babies, but I guess I didn't. I do have my multiples hack installed, and I'm using the default settings which are as follows: Twins - 15%, Triplets - 6%, Quads - 3%. I may tweak that a little, as 15% is a tad high. But I'll leave it for the first rotation so the families can get rockin' and rollin'. That's it for now! More to come.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. Those fumes/bubbles - whatever they are around the green witch skin - are so distracting and annoying. I might experiment with witches more, if I didn't have to deal with that. Will definitely look into the witch default skins. Thank you. I look forward to learning more about not-so-neutral witch Morgana. - Quote :

They are ALL incredibly beautiful Sims that look awesome in their medieval wear. Even Sister Mary Rosa looks fabulous, dahling. Love the nun! - Quote :

Awww... Ari, my beloved Italian grandparents...the ones I adored so much and still miss to this day... Their names were Josephine and Joseph. How awesome is THAT?!? I love it! | Well, the theory of the game crashing is the heat. It's been quite hot lately, and my really good fan stayed in my old machine - that my son got. The reason we think this is because the graphics get all wonky right before it crashes - textures and colors pulling across the screen, flickering images, etc. It played fine for 5 hours last night, but crashed this afternoon after only a couple (and it was hotter). So we shall see. One of these mornings maybe I'll boot it up early and see if it's stable for longer. We'll probably need another fan. Thanks, hee hee - The Faery's Grove kinda just slammed into me as I was opening my thread and I thought 'why not?' I like it much better. Hmm. I don't know if you can find overrides for the actual bubbles that appear around the witches. You can find default skins, though. I wouldn't be surprised if someone had made something like that though, to squash the witch bubbles. Thank you for your compliments on my families so far. I have several of my own sims in the kingdom (I never play my own sims - poor things). Josephine and Joseph - I generally like names that go together for twins, and wanted something that could be medievaly. How awesome those were the names of your beloved grandparents. Thank you so much for your comments.

| You know, that sounds reasonable, Ari. It makes sense that you can play for hours at night (when it's much cooler), but not much in the heat of the day. Have you experimented with it further? I can't imagine that puter fans cost that much, but I don't know for sure. Maybe between $10 & $25 or something like that? - Quote :

| It shouldn't be too hard to take care of. And the problems that I'm having seem very consistent with overheating, though sims is the only game being affected. Thanks for your comments. I've been doing some playing here and there, but have been busy/tired/too lazy to post pictures as of late. In fact, by the time I got to the peasants rotation, I didn't take pictures at all. I was more in business mode and didn't even think about it. Let me just say, all 3 of my peasant families are having a pretty rough time. Keeping all their needs up is quite a challenge, and money is tight - kinda like it should be for the poor peasants, I suppose. I have completed one whole rotation of the kingdom, and all of the couples have had at least one baby. But I'll finish posting the introductions. This is Jerem and Justina Dragen - my 3rd noble family. Jerem is my Jeremy. They have a servo named Roland. Roland: "I bet you didn't realize I'm a robot." They also have a very happy butler. They had the kingdom's second set of twins, Adele and Amelia. So that's 2 sets of twins for only 5 pregnancies...hmmm. After this I made some adjustments to my multiples hack. I now have it set to Twins: 10%, Trips: 4%, Quads: 2%. That should make most births singles, right? I guess we'll find out. Roland isn't throwing the baby out with the garbage, is he? Ah, no worries. The baby is simply stuck to Roland's abdomen. Perhaps we should change the wood polish we're using on that servo. Next up, my two merchant families. This is Malir and Larea Goldfinger. Malir is an altered downloaded sim that I used in a story. He is slightly made over here, but I'm sure Sugah will recognize him. My two merchant families have home businesses. The Goldfingers own a little bakery. It's not really a bakery, as they don't bake the items in the store, they're merely sculptures. But they sure do set the scene, don't they? They also sell some livestock out back. They're quite popular. Even the king comes to check things out. They're business rating is 3 or 4 - but they got a lousy review. The rules actually recommend all families to have businesses, but I sure would get tired of that quickly. How cute is their first child, Aubrey? He favors his daddy with his elfy eyes and ears. I'll be looking forward to growing him up (and I've shamelessly sort of set him up with someone already). This is Jake and Brogan Silvertouch. Brogan is my Brogan. For those that are slow. They have a lot that charges people by the hour to hang out, and they have a variety of games for townspeople to play. They're also open all hours of the day, and Brogan makes fresh meals for the patrons. Here, she relaxes and plays poker with some of the kingdom locals. Two servos and a werewolf - this place sees all types! But they won't turn anyone away who has a buck or two to spend. No pics - but they had a daughter, Christabel. Now the poor peasants, with no pics to share but their preview shots. In my game, the peasants have to work very hard to make ends meet. They have to fish and farm for their meals, and are not able to bring in much money. They will also pay taxes like everyone else. This is the Tailor family, Pierce and Aliana. Pierce is....wait for it....my Pierce! Bet you didn't know that already, did ya? Aliana is actually a worked over version of my simsself. She's learning to sew for income, and Pearce runs the garden and fishes. They had a baby who I forgot to write down. Oops. But they only had 1 so THAT'S a relief!! This is the Scrapper family, Simon and Eliza. Simon is working, but I'm severely limited how high the peasants can rise in their career. After all, they are uneducated, and they have to remain poor. Right now Simon is in the second rung of the Culinary career, because it required no skills to obtain. But I might move him to criminal because I think it would suit him better. Eliza makes pottery to sell. She sorta sucks at it, but she's learning. They had a baby girl, Anne. The Farmers, Caleb and Charlotte. Charlotte is my...you can figure it out. The Farmers have a huge garden, which takes a heckuva long time to maintain. They both work it whenever they can, and they try to fit in some fishing with time leftover. I've decided even if they get good at fishing and can catch more valuable fish, that I'll limit them to the cheap lure - that way the fish they catch isn't worth much and it keeps them poor. Which is....what I want, since these are peasants. I have more, but I'm not going to post them all today. More to come! | |

| Awesome, Ari. It all looks and sounds great. The decorative baked goods are a nice touch. It makes it look like a real bakery. You've inspired me to start a royal kingdom neighborhood, even though I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to play it. I can't wait see more of what happens with your neighborhood. You've done a really great job of putting everything together to make it look really authentic. | |

| Thank you, Em. I am having a lot of fun with it. And lately I haven't had time to really do anything with it, but it's still there, waiting for me. My kingdom isn't going anywhere. As long as I remember to do my backups. Setup did take quite a bit of time, but a lot of that was hunting and searching. But it was fun getting my families started, and I'm happy that I started with couples rather than families because that lets me watch the kingdom grow. It's kind of exciting that these are the founders - it all starts here. If you do start one, I sure would love to hear about it. I forgot to mention in my last post that the Farmers also had their first baby, a little girl named Gemma. Ok a few more pictures from the last time I played. This is the Chaste Family, Father Branigan and Sister Mary Rosa. I decided to make them actually father and daughter, because physical relations are forbidden at the monastery, and this way there won't be any attraction of flirting. I built the monastery myself. Technically, I guess it's an Abbey, but I tend to interchange words for any type of religious structure. This will be a holy place where all the orphans of the village are welcomed. And to pay for their care, all the citizens will have to pay some kind of weekly tithe. I will set that up on the next rotation. But look ma! I built it myself. The inside has separate bathing and sleeping areas for boys and girls. This is what the Sister and Father do when they don't think anyone is looking. I call this picture Holy Fart. So what's an orphanage without an orphan? I had them adopt for the first one, because obviously there are no unwanted children in the kingdom yet. This is Anastasia - the absolutely most striking toddler I've ever seen. Now what's interesting, is if I was telling a story out of this, instead of just posting pics, this would give me an interesting twist. The reason? The rules recommend that you use some sort of way to distinguish your different classes. This can be hair or skin color - but I decided to go with eye color. Peasants all have brown eyes, merchant - green, noble - gray, and royal - blue. According to my own set up, Anastasia is of royal blood. But she has no living family. Hmmm. Seriously...how cute is this toddler? I mean, just LOOK at her. I couldn't tear myself away and it crushed me to move on at the end of the season. But....Anastasia's birthday fell before that, so I got to see her morph into a beautiful child. Since she's an orphan, once she grows up, she'll be free to do what she wants with her life. I'm kinda crushing on little Aubrey, and have sort of set the two up. But there is a chance they will never meet, and I won't use any hacks to force it. Well, here I am actually in the mood to post photos (a rarity!) and photobucket is PMSing so I can't get anymore on here today. I will have to stop here, unfortunately. | |

| A few more pictures of the last time I played. Siegfried the werewolf had a baby girl, Ysabel. Her skin looks odd, you say? That would be because she's not human. Siegfried was stolen by fairies ( a replacement mod for alien abduction ). Siegfried is struggling to make ends meet and has to work to put food on the table. Here is the neighborhood nanny giving Ysabel a bath. I'm kinda liking this nanny so far. She comes to a couple of my other houses, too. I haven't been disappointed with her yet. This one cracked me up! Siegfried was hobbling across the encampment to the little nursery to put Ysabel to bed. He just happened to look right in the direction of... Back to the Castle! The first rotation is complete. Somehow I ended up with a naked infant. I've never seen that before. The princess grew into a cute toddler. She looks a lot like her momma. And then...omg I can't believe it... my FIRST SET OF QUADS! Totally natural and totally unexpected. At only a 2% chance to see quads in my game I didn't think I'd see them for a very long time. But I have to say I'm very happy it happened in the royal family as opposed to a peasant family. 3 girls and 1 boy! A prince and heir has been born to the royal house. Their names are Drake, Colette, Ava, and Emma. With 4 infants in the house, things got a little crazy. It was a few blurred days of feedings, diaper changes, and more feedings. The servo, nanny, and butler did most of the work, with the king and queen giving a hand where needed. Finally the time came for all the babies to grow up into toddlers. Things were extra nutty around birthday time. Someone picked up the garbage to throw it out, but then dropped it when they got the queue to watch a birthday and I didn't notice. But Colette sure did, and boy did she have fun. "And that's what she is, the Queen of Refuse. So bow down to her if you want, bow to her. Bow to the Queen of Slime, the Queen of Filth, the Queen of Putrescence. Boo. Boo. Rubbish. Filth. Slime. Muck. Boo. Boo. Boo." Ok got a little 'Princess Bride'ey there for a minute. More to come! | |

I absolutely LOVE the bakery & livestock scenes. They look fabulous, dahling! Perfection! Wow! Even your peasant families are beautiful to behold (again, more great costumes). This whole medieval thing you have going on is like eye candy, Lady A. That's all there is too it. Anastasia is GORGEOUS! WOW!!! I agree. She is one striking orphan toddler ... and of royal blood, perhaps? Me thinkst the plot does thicken, m'lady. She grew up to be an even more beautiful child. Her coloring is lovely and that hair really works for her. Can't wait to see her as a teen/adult! The princess IS a stunning child as well. She does look like her absolutely gorgeous mother. QUADS! Heaven help us! Good thing they are wealthy and have lots of servants to help with that royal brood! And this, my friend, was GREATNESS: - Quote :

| Aw, thank you so much for all your fabulous comment, Sugah. It truly is a pleasure to see them. It took awhile to get the clothing in order, so many downloads. And I still have some that don't want to show up and will need to be downloaded again...sigh. Yes - The Princess Bride is one of my all time favorites. I've seen it many times. So hysterical. And Cary Elwes has never looked hotter, in my opinion. Anastasia - yes, what a sweet little thing she is. I'm having a glitch with the social worker and wasn't able to adopt a sim properly, so I spawned the tombstone of life and death and ordered a toddler, lol. She appeared on the front lawn right next to the tombstone and I remember gasping when I first set eyes on her. She seemed ethereal. From then on I couldn't take my eyes off of her, never have I seen such a beautiful sim baby. And that's exactly how she appeared - hair and everything. I hated to leave the family, lol. And I have a lot of families to play before I can get back to her...sigh. But I can't wait until she turns into a teen, either. I hope I roll a decent aspiration for her. Ok - a few more piccies: Morgana got a cowplant. Can you guess what she does with it? That's right. She drinks the essence of people who fall for the cake bait. This extends her wicked life. Ah, it's good to be an evil witch. Other than that, Morgana has bedded another hapless neighborhood man and started a garden. She can make her own beauty potion with her cauldron, but it is a taxing chore and takes awhile. I thought maybe if she grew her own produce, she can make a beauty cocktail with the juicer. One to the Bloodstone house. Henry grows into a child. Wow. Uh...well. I guess it's a good thing he's rich, right? I sure hope he grows into that face. At the Moonblade manor: Did someone ask for baby stew for dinner? So funny with this pot - it's not really an object, so the baby can crawl through it. But when Joseph sat up and looked around, I thought it was funny. I can't remember if I mentioned this before. But did you know the butler can potty train the toddlers? I don't know if it's because of a hack that I have, or if it comes with one of the EP's. But I ain't complainin'! Well now. There's a handsome lad. This is Joseph as a child. Aww. On his own, Joseph played with his twin sister, Josephine, not yet grown up. More to come later. | |

| You have got some gorgeous little girls there. I don't think Henry looks that bad either, but I'm used to playing Maxis sims, so I might have a higher tolerance for less fortunate looking sims. I can't remember if I mentioned this before, but I really love Morgana's dress. Who was the poor cow plant victim? A random townie? LOL @ Siegfried looking under the horse's tail. It even looks like he's lifting up the tail to get a better look too. And at the baby stew. Wow, quads! I wish them lots of luck. I'm glad it was your royal family too that can afford servants and hired help. That should be fun. | |

I have to say I can't remember seeing a more stunning toddler. She's amazingly beautiful. I agree. And to think she was SPAWNED from the tombstone. Woah! What a beautiful gown Morgana has on while drinking "the essence of people who fall for the cake bait"! I love it! - Quote :

Did someone ask for baby stew for dinner? I love the pics of Joseph and Josephine. What darling children! Thank you for sharing, as always, Lady A. I enjoy your witty commentaries and beautiful screenshots so much.

| I fall so behind in your posts, Ari. I'm sorry for that. I love your stories and your creativity. The royal village that you've created does have amazing authenticity to it. The characters you've created are so lovely and dressed amazingly. Your Servos freak me out - but the babies that are spawned from your Sims are absolutely amazing. Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing such beauty and humor with us.......Holy Fart | |

| I am sorry it's taken me so long to comment on your posts. I've been sick, then busy, and now sick again. I haven't even played any of my Royal Kingdom sims since the last post. I'm missing them. Thank you all for taking time to share comments. It really means a lot! | |

| Thank you, Sugah. Getting better very very slowly and busy again. Damn. I need like, 40 hours in a day to get all the things done I want to do. I guess it keeps me from getting bored, but, still. I can never seem to find time for my Kingdom. | |

| Honey, I hear ya! Would 40 hours even be enough??? Sometimes it's obvious we spread ourselves too thin, but you are right. We never have to worry about being bored with our large "to do" lists & our many projects. I hope you continue to recover and feel stronger with each passing day, m'lady. | |

| Ari, whenever I see medieval custom content, I have to restrain myself from posting links in the Faery Grove thread lest you ban me for spamming! But I just stumbled across this stuff at GOS and it was so detailed...and unusual, and it was just too much for me to resist not sharing, just in case you'd like to add any it to your kingdom. Ok....I won't do it again, but when you have time, do take a peek here | |
