Toni, my hoods do indeed burgeon (love that word). I'm using two suburbs, and keeping the map small enough so I don't have to scroll. Good intentions... Good intentions... and then you guys go and create more irresistible sims. (Note the paragraph above!!!) I'm encouraged, though, my old hood with over 450 sims crashed and crashed. So far, this one switches seamlessly between neighborhoods, CAS, house placement, etc. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Toni is on a program - lots of jogging, as is Elle, but it'll be quite a while before she comes up in the rotation again.

I love the formals you have chosen for JenSim and UlliSim, Mac.
They look lovely! Great choice!

My best guess regarding posting your Sidekick Chronicles antics and images would be
HERE. You can see that Ulli, Jen and Ari have already started new threads to share their SPSC adventures.
Unless Elle tells us otherwise, I'm assuming it's okay to start your own thread in that section for all of our SP gang antics!

Yes, that is Cassandra Kitteridge, one of my characters from Arrendale Heights. She's one of my favorites, as far as looks go. I can't help snapping pictures of her when she looks so lovely. I'm still iffy about her hairstyle. I'm not sure it's the most flattering for her, but he edgy look seems to suit her.

I'm impressed that you're able to keep so many sims on a small terrain. In one of my hoods I'm using a small terrain with only about 50 sims and 10-12 households and it already seems crowded. I'm glad you aren't having the crashing problems you did with your old hood.

I use a lot of small lots and maybe 10-12 distinct types. My favorites are:

7 Dove Rd, a 1x4 starter - this is my all-time favorite - by devagirl2 at MTS2 - a brilliant lot creator!

All of the above are suitable for 1 or 2 people, in a pinch, maybe a child, too.

I used apts when I started, but still have the problem with moved-out sims still hanging out afterwards. So I'm getting rid of apts.

For larger families, I rely on "Queens' Brook Blvd North" houses: http://modthesims.info/browse.php?tag=queens+brook+blvd&go=Go&gs=1&f=143&gs=1 they are all nx2. I'm using the QBBN houses for my sidekick families. 2 of these next-door with 3 sims each, and each sim has his/her own bdrm.

I also have a couple of rows of "Beach Terrace" houses.

All of these houses are very functional with little extraneous decoration, and I really pack them in. I do use a large neighborhood template and the neighborhood camera hack but still don't have to scroll. Here's a screenshot. You will notice Jen's Loftis at the very northernmost point - I'll probably be moving Alan Rickman (aka Servius Snape) in when he can afford it.


I also am starting to use Downtown and Shopping sub-neighborhoods. The sims in these interact seamlessly with each other and the main hood. Don't use Univ, though - it comes with Univ-related extras.

Sorry for the double post - but I wanted to answer SimEm. Now for what's going on in that 'hood.

Derek and Julianne Hough - brother and sister - have been sharing a house He's Knowledge/Scorpio Dance/Dance and she's Popularity/Pisces Music/Dance. But along came Jen's Melanie Drianna (Family/Pisces Artist/Arts) and swept him off his feet with 3 bolts. Here he proposes and she accepts.


She's happy coming back from work "Irbay" and all that


The next morning she encountered Julianne at breakfast - not the best time to discover that there's another gal in the house. Take that!


Take that, yourself!


But they decided to be friends anyway...


Julianne decided to move out - but in addition to the usual 20K, they made sure that she had 15K in her bank account so she can really set up a nice house. She's moved into a 7 Dove Rd., but it will be furnished very beautifully.

Awww, Melanie is a girl after my own heart. Derek is such a cutie :))

I think that is so funny that they were fighting at breakfast and now they are good friend, women...lol

An update on some new pairings...

Jen's Marcello Jenni (hunky guy) has paired up with Cara Christa (a contributed sim on another site - long forgotten which one). Marcello is Fortune/Aries Adventure/Fitness, Cara is Popularity/Aries Espionage/Cuisine. Here they're entertaining Russ Caleb at lunch.


SimEm's Logan Varner Popularity/Scorpio Intelligence/Tinkering has found the love of his life - the (alas) late Brittany Murphy Popularity/Pisces Nusing/Science


Delphy Knowledge/Aries Sims2Designer/Games really didn't get along with Toni, a fellow game designer, but they did share an interest in crime, had a long chat about it and became friends.


Jen's Tovia Driann was another story, she's Family/Pisces PetCare/Literature. They're now an item. See some funny pics of Delphy HERE

I'm winding them up for the season. Next season, Toni becomes a child and Simone heads off to college. In the meantime, there'll be lots of weddings, honeymoons, and babies!

You mentioned having some beach terrace homes.
Are they Bon Voyage right on the sea lots?
If so, I'd love the links to those.
I haven't had much luck finding smaller lots right on the beach.

Sugah, the "Beach Terrace" houses are named that by the creator, but they aren't proper beach lots. I.e. you can't put them next to the water and have a swimmable beach. Here's the link to the "Beach Terrace" lots regardless.


I did a search on MTS2 in houses with the keyword "Beach". Just because the lot says "Beach" or "Beach House" doesn't necessarily mean that it's a "beach lot" in the sims sense.

Here are a few links I found to lots that actually are beach lots. Beach lots tend to be big 3x5. The one I marked is 2x5 and looks really interesting! In my next incarnation, maybe, when I'm as rich as Bill Gates!

I only came upon the concept of "beach lot" a couple of weeks ago and am still learning and exploring.

If any of you were concerned about Julianne Hough (she had to move out when Derek got involved with Melanie Drianna), she and Geoff Webster have become an item!


Devin Briggs toasts his new wife, Yana Briggs (nee Annamar)also there are Sharon Stone, Ella Warne, Dilyana Popova, and Ari Linares


Ella Warne just maybe sucked too much tinnie at the reception and lost her balance while dancing. "I told you we shouldn't have Foster's do the catering!"


Devin and Yana stayed at a very posh hotel in Takemizu Village - posh or not, as they were waiting for the shuttle home, they just decided to chill in the forecourt


Devin is talking to his new son, Pete Briggs. There's a real-life story about that name. Waaaay back in August of 1957, I did the college tour. At Harvard, I talked to an admissions officer for around 15 minutes. He was 20-30-ish, very energetic and friendly. I then went back and did my senior year in high school. Next September (now 1958) I had barely arrived in Cambridge and was walking down the main street when I heard "Hi Dean!!!" Of course I had forgotten his name. It was the admissions officer - Pete Briggs. I have never seen or met him since, but I will remember that name forever!

Most of the great-looking sims are courtesy of this site! See those people at the top of the page - thank each and every one of them for their creations! Other sites for good-looking sim femmes are AnnaMariaSims and SimsTR

You can often tell the creators by the last names I give them. E.g. Yana Annamar (AnnaMaria), Maeve Simtr (doh) Nico,Marcello, and Giada Jenni (Adrianna aka Jen) and all of the Asters (Ari aka Astral Fairy). Sometimes other links Ella Warne (an Aussie and younger sister to the great Leg-spinner) is a Sugah creation. Toni has contributed some great ones, too, and some hunky males - one of whom is involved with Toni's avatar! Some of Toni's have surnames "Toni", others "Kitts" and "Nevis".

Yes - it's fun! More than one person, myself included, has called it "Paper Dolls for Grownups"

Jan and Em came by Arnold's house (If you're asking which Arnold, it's "Ahhhnold" - and "he'll be back") I haven't been able to get the grilled cheese counter hack to work, so I'm keeping track of the number of platters he prepares. He's prepared 4, so only around 30 to go
I was hoping against hope that he wouldn't be a hit with these two women. As you can see, Jen is having nothing to do with him


And Em is similarly unimpressed. It's interesting, though, that Jen is thinking of cheese - but not the grilled type.


Braden Rian and Tara Aster were engaged. I was sort of tired of wedding parties and honeymoons so I just did Propose/Marriage (Sorry! ) Anyway, here Braden is talking to the offspring to be and generally making a fool of himself - it's OK


But they didn't expect twins! Twins in a Headland house (sharing bedroom with mom and dad) is more than cramped. Fortunately, they have a lot of simoleans so they'll be moving to a bigger place and they were visited by the Gypsy, so they're both lifetime platinum. BTW, Braden is Knowledge/Cancer Tourism4/FilmLit and Tara is Family/Pisces Artist4/Dance. The twins are twin girls: Ashleigh Aster and Astrid Aster. Having your sims trying to cope with twins is a perfect object lesson and antidote to any teenager who thinks that having a baby would be "fun"

Maybe Em automatically associated Arnold with "cheese" the instant she met him!

I always am dealing with a shortage of guys, so I added John Kerry (actually the senator from my state). He's Popularity/Aries Politics5(doh)/Literature. He and Ari's Echo Aster Popularity/Cancer EventPlanning3/Cuisine seem to have hit it off, although they have yet to move in together


I've felt remiss about Sugah... Ari's hooked up with Patrick Swayze, and Toni's hooked up with her own creation (Kostos). Elle, Ulli, and Mac (me) are sharing a house next door to Jen,Em, and Russ. I'm happy to announce that Paul McCartney proposed and she accepted. He's Knowledge/Tarus Music7/Music and she's Family/Cancer Sims2Creator5/Arts.

They've moved in to "8 Coral" by the seaside. This lot is suited for 2 rather than 2 with kids. There is a 2nd floor room, but it makes a much better aerie than bedroom.


Monet VanDeKamp and Chantal Fourier just bought an identical house next door. "Naiads next door" Hmmm... Monet is Knowledge/Cancer CreativeWriting5/Literature and Chantal is Knowledge/Scorpio Law8/Science. I haven't been able to recall where they came from.

I agree it's a good idea to keep the houses close. I try to position all my lived in lots in such a way that I can go from one to the other. It's so much easier to go from house-to-house instead of having to go back to the neighbourhood screen.

If you ever needed a proof of sims genetics, here it is! Redheads all the way! The first time Nisa was posted on SimTR several years ago, I knew that she would be the perfect mate for Ron! Frederick just might have a career in dance - I've noticed an unusual number of carrot-topped little boys in Maikki's ballet schools!

Toni, you have no idea! Robin Rianna, Shanti Adrian, and Giada Jenni join Brandon Fish in toasting his new bride Heli (nee Keijunen) Fish. The bad news - they all bailed out shortly after the toast.


The wedding party was a bummer, but Brandon and Heli didn't care, they danced the afternoon away regardless.


But then more bad news - the shuttle to take them to the airport and on to Twikki Island never appeared, so they never had a honeymoon. Nevertheless, along came Hamilton* Fish, and Brandon got Heli a house on the seashore so she can swim anyway. Brandon's career is Oceanography, but I think he'll have to minor in astronomy when he spots a heavenly body in the surf.


*Historical note: Hamilton Fish was a governor of New York and an early Republican supporter of Abraham Lincoln. He also served as senator, congressman and in several other official positions. His son, grandson, and great-grandson - all named Hamilton Fish - represented New York in congress. All of them from that dying breed - liberal Republicans. Hamilton Fish IV won his seat in congress defeating none other than G. Gordon Liddy in 1968. A Republican, he nonetheless voted for two of the articles of impeachment against Nixon. My guess is that Hamilton Fish V will have a career in politics.
